The Legend of Dragoon. My first RPG and only JRPG i played in my life.
I don't think you're entirely alone on that title. It sold enough copies to be a Greatest Hits. I don't exactly know how much that is though. Could be a million, could be ten thousand... I don't know. But enough to where a large amount of people gave two shits about it.

Great game.
Its been nearly forgotten though. In have not known anybody who knew of the game until i joined the escapist. Played it the day before yesterday. It was quite fun.
Oh that's sweet. I need to pick it up again. I loved the combat system, as far as timing your attacks. You know what I mean.
Last boss got me kinda pissed. He had Dart confused so he hit Rose (instant death) and then Kongol got confused to my people killed each other. intead of fighting the boss. I was about to defeat him too... Anyway, I set my ps1 up just for that game.
That's funny that was my line-up too.
I was using Meru before, but she takes a lot of damage and is not too strong. I choose Kongol because he had the closes amount of hit-points as Dart.

Killing Floor I guess. Or is that more well known?

Oh, and Day of Defeat. Valve's attempt at World War Two. More fun than most WWII shooters though that isn't saying much.

I've rarely seen anyone talk about Jet Set Radio Future during my entire stay here.

I second the Call of Cthulhu motion. An amazing amount of narrative and effort went into that game and created some incredibly moving, disturbing, heart wrenching and terrifying scenes. One of my most memorable gaming experiences of all time.

Chrono Trigger. Because it was not released in Germany.

Also Super Mario RPG, never released here. Thank god for emulators.

So have you never beaten the game before, or just this time?

Never beat the game yet. That was my first try. I was quite (8) when i got Dragoon. That last boss really ticked me off. Haven't played since. That was two days ago, so its nothing to worry about. Im restarting anyway.

Stars! is a crazy game. I wish they would release a sequel, because some of the mechanics in that game were completely, utterly broken (like combat, for instance), but it was insane fun nonetheless. Turn-based space empire management strategy ftw.

Shadow Warrior. Wildly fun and silly FPS, based off of Duke Nukem 3D. Barely anyone has heard of it, though. It's great.
That game was crap, in the best possible way. :D

Shadow of the Colossus? I've never heard anyone at school or anywhere talk about that game, and when I ask, no one knows what I'm talking about. The question mark is because maybe I live in the only SotC free zone in the world.
You must live in South Africa, then. I so badly want to play it. Games as art whoo

Other than little flash games on the net, I'm not sure I'm really allowed to contribute here. I've never really tried or seen anything that no-one else has heard of. There are even Escapists who know what Oddworld is.
I have Abe's Oddysee installed on my laptop. Love that series.

I hope you didn't delete your saves. You still might have a chance, just adjust your strategy. There should be no reason for you to go out of your way to level up to beat the game. All the random battles should have taken care of that for you, as long as you ran from battle very little if none at all. Give it a few more tries before you start over. If gaming has taught you anything it should be persistence.

I will never delete that save. I have two memory cards, and one doesnt have a save on it. That's the only save i have now, so i have about 3 slots to start over on.

I would say Shadow of the Colossus, but it's already been said, and plus it seems somehow to be more popular than its predecessor, Ico. I'm also a huge fan of FreQuency, which has flown under the radar compared to Harmonix's other games. I was so proud to see it being played at Otakon...

I thought Oddworld was cancelled/shelved after Strangers Wrath.

I played Abes Oddysee and it was one of the hardest games I've played. Especially tring to get all the green guys.
Well Oddworld started working on movies after Stranger's Wrath, but unfortunately it seems to have gone through. Now the old director's taking a back-seat and they've announced that they'll be working on a new game.

Nothing's going to be coming from Oddworld for a few years yet, but at least they're back to making something.

Um... World of Warcraft? Ha, just kidding. Half-Life... OK, seriously now.

I remember some epic games that are nearly unknown these times. Which is a shame. Like Jagged Alliance 2 - veterans might remember. I still love this game, it's a classic and it's still awesome to play.

From newer games, I pick Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. This RPG is probably better than any Elder Scrolls game - it just has some flaws and mistakes, but it has left an impression on me that I will not forget.

And I'm sure you've never heard of Obulis. It's a relatively small independent puzzle game with nice graphics and very well-done puzzles based on physics. I got it on Steam, not knowing what to expect. I was positively surprised.

And, uh, Mario...? OK I'LL STOP NOW

Evil Islands. Old progressive RPG. Also does a better job on combat than most hack&slashers.

Also the Ogre Battle series, including Tactics Ogre.

Voodoo Vince a game of a lot fun and humor. Most people don't know of it let alone been able to buy it. It is like Psycronauts in the fact many didn't buy it and did weakly. Hard to find because those that have it won't sell it. A game I love in being fun to play. Only was able to play a demo of it because of OXM is the only taste I got of it. Never been able to find a copy of it to buy when I had an Xbox, with a 360 I haven't looked for it because I know it won't be playable. Those wondering if I am making the game up, here is the link for proof.
