There's this game called Halo...

JK. Really the only game I've played that's not all too popular is Team Fortress 2. Yes, I know it's marginally popular and usually considered good by the people who do play it (well, except this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaX0q76igds ), but IMO, I think it's overall pretty underrated

I'd say the Goemon series and the Ogre Battle series. They were so unsung that they won't release it in the western market anymore!
Goemon Mystical Ninja is a pretty awesome game, I haven't played the others. Ogre Battle is too, I remember those times where I'd just go around looking for neutral characters. I miss those games. I've got to look for Ogre Battle for PS1 on eBay now because of you.

Melty Blood is an awesome game, it was obviously made for fighting die-hards and fighting die hards only. The combos can go on for years, and some of the combo vids are just insane.

Hell with it, I'm posting one.

Wow, forgot how good that game looked when watching a actually good player. I, admittedly, kind of sucked at it. I lack the "learn a bunch of supercombos" dedication that fighters take. Still love them, but never get that great at them, I mostly just beat the story mode as each character, and break them out once in a while when I have friends up, lol. Wonder where I could order a copy of Melty Blood, I never did play the full version patched....

I'll say Psychonauts, it's probably the best platformer I have ever played.
Psychonauts sure as hell ain't unsung on the Escapist after that Zero Punctuation review.

Other than little flash games on the net, I'm not sure I'm really allowed to contribute here. I've never really tried or seen anything that no-one else has heard of. There are even Escapists who know what Oddworld is.

I'd just like to point out, even though it isn't out yet, that Edge of Twilight is a currently unsung game that looks bloody brilliant. Why aren't we Escapists talking about this game? Am I the only one who thinks it looks amazing?!
Nope, I think it looks bloody cool too. ^_^
Also I'm a long time Oddworld fan, I wish more people here liked the games. I think they're classics.

You're kidding, right? The Escapist held it's own TF2 tournament last month! There are an absolute ton of people here who play and love TF2! Myself included!

Search for TF2 or Team Fortress in the forum search bar, you'll see what I mean.

Yay! Always nice to meet another Oddworld Inhabitant :3

I agree with you. Especially the first two. They're still awesome to play today. Just as charming, just as funny and just as fun.

Many moons ago I played a game called "No One Lives Forever" and to this day it is one of the most fun FPSs I have ever played... Come to find out NO ONE has heard of this frickin' game!
I loved both NOLFs, Contract J.A.C.K wasn't as good however. I'm still waiting hopefully for a third. The humor was awesome, and I just love retro spy themes.
Sadly don't have my own input of a game I really loved that is quite unheard of, does Red Orchestra count? I enjoyed it but it is no NOLF.

Edit:

TF2 is insanely popular and high rated by everyone I've met whos played it. It's #12 most played game on xFire at the moment (couldn't think of another way to show a stat of popularity).

Shadow of the Colossus? I've never heard anyone at school or anywhere talk about that game, and when I ask, no one knows what I'm talking about. The question mark is because maybe I live in the only SotC free zone in the world.

The Touhou series, most people are turned away by the difficulty or havent heard of them at all
But theres so many Fan-games under the spectrum aswell as the Official Bullet-Curtain and the
Two Fighters. Its a blast to play them all.

Lufia 1 and 2 for the SNES. If you like JRPGs and/or SNES RPGs, then go play these.

Just be aware that while Lufia 1 was released in 1994 and Lufia 2 in 1996, L2 is actually a prequel to L1. You may want to think about playing L2 first, as the opening segment of L1 will spoil the ending of L2.

Well, he is new, so he might not understand what a huge deal TF2 is on this site.

For me, I'd have to say MediEvil was basically one of the greatest PS1 titles ever, and yet, it gets very little respect. Even its incredible remake on the PSP was ignored. Either way, it's still one of my favorites.

I actually have the PSP version right next to me - haven't played it in years though. I had the 2nd MediEvil game on PSOne and it was brilliant. I feel bad that I forgot about those games...
