War of the Monsters. One of the best fighting games released in the past ten years, and nobody's heard of it =(
OH MAN, I remember that game! There's something about playing as giant monsters rampaging through multiple cities and landscapes that just brings a smile to your face. Man a good sequel with revamped graphics and a few added creatures would be awesome.

Bonk's Adventure for the original Game Boy. It's like Mario only better, because instead of just jumping on everything, you bash it in with your head! Nothing can really beat that. Wish I still had that...

Shadow of Memories.
Vib Ribbon
War of The Monsters.
Urban Chaos.
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey.
Sly Raccoon Series.
Any number of decent FPS:
Darkwatch.
Cold Winter
Kill.Switch
etc...
The great thing about last gen. gaming is finding the lost gems and rare finds that can turn up for pennies.

I'm not too sure if this is a unsung game, but I quite enjoy Chromehounds and it seems that most of the Tales games are rather unheard of.

Shadow of Rome was met with moderate reception by critics, but personally I think it is made of awesome. Gruesome gladiatorial fights in a stylised version of the history and characters surrounding Julius Caesar's assassination with some nice stealth gameplay thrown in. Can you name a game where you can slice an enemy's arm off, then hurl him into a pit of fire to a cheering audience? No, you cannot, because this game rules.

Star Control 2... the fans of the game loved it so much they ported the 3DO version to modern OS... http://sc2.sourceforge.net/downloads.php

This game is made of win.

Planescape Torment... one of your party members is a perverted floating skull named Morte. The dialogue rocked and the story was really interesting... RIP Blackisle Studios

I'd say the Goemon series and the Ogre Battle series. They were so unsung that they won't release it in the western market anymore!
Goemon Mystical Ninja is a pretty awesome game, I haven't played the others. Ogre Battle is too, I remember those times where I'd just go around looking for neutral characters. I miss those games. I've got to look for Ogre Battle for PS1 on eBay now because of you.
Good luck. Minimum price for a copy of Tactic Ogres: Let us Cling together is 80$ at minimum. The last time I saw an Ogre Battle 64 game, the price tag was 200$. Then again, Gamebuzz are greedy bastards.

EDIT: Unless you meant March of the Black Queen. You can get it on Wii store. However, it's the Snes version. The playstation version is at least 50$ for a used copy.

Empires: Dawn of the Modern World. It was made by the team that makes Empire Earth. It's similar, only instead of having a huge span of insane time periods, it has less (medieval, gunpowder, imperial, WWI and WWII) and puts alot more detail in each age. The game has an insane amount of potential, as there are far less restrictions on what you do than modern RTS's. Me and my friends have had loads of fun just playing the WWII portion of the game. Most of our games can last a minimum of 5 hours. The only thing I dislike about the game is the way the civilizations are set up (the Franks exist even up to the Imperial age, and Korea and China just turn into western countries) I wish they had left out Korea, and had Japan instead, and taken it all the way across the time periods, including WWII.

Shadow Hearts. Rather hardcore JRPG and the most relentless difficulty curve ever conceived, but GOD that was a good game.

Terranigma - Never released in America. Second best RPG I have ever played and the best part: No Turn Based Combat!
Hell yeah! I absolutely love this game. Kind of a downer ending, though.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Kingdom Under Fire. Solid hack'n'slash with RTS style unit managing and RPG style levelling. Story was interesting, starting with a war between two factions (with the option to play as both sides) and ending up with the characters fighting a god to delay the world's inevitable destruction. It also helped that Regnier was a badass.

Circle of Doom sucked ass though.

Shadow of the Colossus? I've never heard anyone at school or anywhere talk about that game, and when I ask, no one knows what I'm talking about. The question mark is because maybe I live in the only SotC free zone in the world.
Same here, and it was such an epic game :D, if there was a little too much riding. Isn't it made by the same people as Ico? I think I'll add that as my own suggestion to the OP.
