HOW DARE YOU! YOU ARE IMPLYING THAT ALL NON-WHITE PEOPLE ARE SO UNREASONABLE THAT THEY THINK EVERYONE IS RACIST! /end sarcasm
Most arguments that something is racist sound like that. They make about as much sense, too.

Its as racist as you want it to be. If you actively look for a specific context, you'll find it.
Like my boot up your ass: Some find it offensive, others call it a first date.
Assuming its offensive makes it offensive, asking me about my opinion before filling in the blanks will fix that. Ofcourse it might be ment offensive afterall, but you won't know for sure if you don't ask first.

My guess is that this racism statement is based on that person reading an article on WWII where Disney had connections with Nazi Germany which is the ultimate proof that everything Disney is racist ofcourse.... see what I just did there?
If you'd stop and think about everything you say just for a day you'd realize that you'll make more assumptions than you'd be aware of....dammit! see what I just did there... again!

See how easy it is to fill in the blanks of others?
I'll shut up now.

Was watching http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GroDErHIM_0, enjoying the pleasantries of one of my favorite Pixar movies to date now, when I found fun comments of one "renegade419"

Yall got to be kidding me, This is the most racist movie and end of amerikkka plots ever made. And its a Award winning Best Picture....f*** outta here. Disney racist as f***.
Dug the Dog sees the white man Carl and says "Will you be my MASTER"....do i need to explain who Dug is? Throughout the film he keeps calling Carl "Master" do i really need to say who Dug represents? This nig*** Dug wants to leave his "Dogs" led by Alpha (a strong looking Dog w/ a Mike Tyson voice) and his old Master Muntz. Me being a black man u see why dat part really pisses me off, we are Dogs REALLY, calling you Master REALLY. F*** outta here I got more reasons why
what kind of meesage is what it sends to kids is what bothers me, all of our lives Disney movies made it seem like blk ppl didnt exsist until Princess & Frog when the black princess is a frog throughout the whole movie...yea rite. I got lil girls and i tell em about the bullshit Hollywood tries to put in our kids head.Ppl think im wrong now cuz i tell my lil girl aint no such thing as Santa Claus...so what...i'd give my kids the truth over a lie anyday...and this movie is joke.
"Zookeeper" Carl Fredrickson an old widower loses wife (eurocentric hold on N. amerikkka) to death. Frustrated w/urban development built around his home "the New Amerikkka" (Obama), refusing to sell his home he fights the construction worker and is forced to move out his home (foreclosure) put him in a home (white man losing his country drives him crazy), he had dreams w/ his wife to move to S. America (Paradise Falls...if i stayed in S.America i'd be offended)
start a new life, but a young Asian boy (Russell voiced by Japanesse actor Jordan Nagai) keeps knocking on his doors trying earn a merit badge "Assisting the Elderly" (China owning America, walks us across the street, makes all of our shit, got the money and power). Carl unleashes a bunch of ballons that lifts his house off the ground flies off w/ a "so long BOYS" to the black and hispanic nurses that was there to haul him off.
Getting away from it all Carl on his way to sit up high over S. America he feels free until guess who knocks at the door (Asia/china/N.korea) i mean Russell wants in. After disagreements and a thunderstorm (negiotiating ideas) they come to an agreement to work together once they reach Paradise Falls. There they meet a flightless bird (based on ppl of S.America) Russell names it Kevin (Kevin an Irish name means Kind Honest Handsome...PAUSE0.
OK, you really have to go out of your way to see UP as racist.

Most of these points of comments that are listed don't even make sense! Of course the dog is going to call the guy his master, he's a dog! The fact that that guy thinks the dog is suppost to represent black people just seems that he's trying to make the movie racist.

And the guy who says the kid is suppost to represent China helping us across the street, what is this, the 1800s? That sounds more like a political cartoon than racism. A little news flash for that guy, AMERICA DOES ACTUALLY OWE CHINA MONEY! The fact that he's sees that as racist makes me think that he's the one being racist here. Besides, I'm pretty sure that disney wasn't trying to make that kind of statement in a kid's movie.

And another thing, if your trying to say something was racist, try to confirm against what race. I'm pretty sure that the nurse he thought was Mexican is just white with a bad haircut (I could be wrong about that). And he doesn't even know if the kid is suppost to be chinese, japanese, or korean (I'm positive he wasn't north korean). Now, correct me if I'm wrong but that seems more racist than what he was trying to point out as racist.

He would do Al Sharpton proud finding racism in things that really aren't. People find sexual things in Disney movies (though in The Rescuers there is indeed a part that shows a topless woman for 2 non-sequential frames in a window while the heroes are riding on the back of a bird).

They're youtube comments. You should always take them with a bucketful full of salt, maybe even some cocaine.

The point isn't to make sense, the point is to troll the living hell out of everyone.

.....Fail. All of those people just failed. I'm pretty sure it was an elaborate troll, but even if it wasn't they can get over themselves and maybe make an effort to end their narcissism and do something productive with their lives.

It didn't pop into you're head because you are a sane reasonable person. The racism that this moron probably sees everywhere exists only in his paranoid mind. The funny thing is he probably wouldn't know real racism if it was staring him in the face, like it is all the f-ing time whenever he looks in the mirror.

Sorry to say, but from growing up near Detroit and spending a few years in a 95% black school, I can honestly say a lot of black people go out of their way to claim stuff is racist when its clearly not.

For instance, in my hometown, the black community wanted to name a road "Martin Luther King jr road" but there was already a street named that just a couple miles away in the same town. But they cried racism and said he hated black people. They threatened to get the Mayor fired for being racist if he didn't do what they wanted, so he resigned instead of dealing with the problem.

Another example is at my job, we have around 6 black men and women working there. This one black guy, Brian, is a huge screw up, is a lazy moron, and can't do the simplest task right. When anyone confronts him about him messing up, he yells that they're racist and threatens to report them to the corporate office.

As a Native American, I know white people aren't incapable of racist stuff, but this isn't the '60s anymore. I wish everyone would stop playing the racist card and live their damn lives
Ok i'll give you a quick heads up, if you say X people are Y, thats racist. This is because you are generalizing on a race of people. Even if you qualify it by saying "a lot of x people", its still generalizing. Now if you're giving a specific example thats fine, but it doesn't tell us anything about black people, nor could it.

Obvious, but can never be repeated enough:

How many are actually paying attention to this? There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc. And then there are just Americans. You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman'... And that's OK... But when I call you, ******, Kike, Towel head, Sand-******, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or ***** .. You call me a racist. You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you... So why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, and 100-150 years ago there were Irish-Americans (AKA "micks"), German-Americans (AKA "krauts"), Polish-Americans (AKA "polacks"), Italian-Americans (AKA "wops")--oh wait, they're all still there.

You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You have Yom Hashoah. You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi. You have the NAACP. You have BET... If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we'd be racists. If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists. If we had White History Month, we'd be racists. If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR lives, we'd be racists.
What the hell is white culture? There's Irish, German, Dutch, Swedish, Polish, Italian, French and Welsh culture, among others. But what the hell is white culture?

Dragunai said:
We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays for that?
It's my understanding that in most English-speaking nations of the developed world, Chambers of Commerce are voluntary networks formed by businesses that want to be members. So private business interests pay for it. My late uncle was the president of the local Italian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Guess what--all the members were white.

I am proud... But you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites can be racists?? There is nothing improper about this e-mail.. Let's see which of you are proud enough to send it on. I sadly don't think many will. That's why we have LOST most of OUR RIGHTS in this country. We won't stand up for ourselves! BE PROUD TO BE WHITE! It's not a crime YET... But getting very close!"
Why would you want to be proud of your skin colour, which is ultimately an accident of birth? What the hell is this "white culture" these people are yelling about?

I am well aware that anyone can be racist, and we probably all are to some degree. And the original YouTube commenter the OP quoted is clearly a conspiracy theorist who probably sees Casper the Friendly Ghost as KKK propaganda. But these angry white guys always argue that "why is it okay for blacks, Hispanics, etc. to celebrate their culture, but not white people?" It's because they have a culture. Whereas these deluded fools think that millions of people sharing a lack of melanin is some sort of basis for a "culture".

If you want to be proud of being German, Polish, Greek, Irish, Norwegian--or even American, go right ahead. But white's just a skin colour.

Talking dog = funny for kids.
Grumpy old man = funny for kids.
Talking dog and kid making grumpy man end up nice = story that kids can understand and adults can appreciate.
UP = another good movie by Pixar who represent the goodness of our horrible modern society, where half the population think that they're smart when they find 'evidence' of things like underlying racism in kids movies.
Ad that that talking dog is absolutely hilarious and you've got UP. I seriously loved that movie and mostly anything else Pixar has made.

Sometimes a dog calling his master for master is simply a dog, sometimes a dog calling his master master is a symbol that he's a dog, in the last scenario it usually involves that the dog is a dog.
Youtube is the place where you go to see retards with web connection, an urge to swear and poor grammar.

Funnily enough, people have tried to prove that Disney is the work of the devil. So, accusing Pixar of racist overtones is like throwing a toothpick at a tank. I don't know where these crazy people come from, but none of 'em appear to have affected Disney in any way at all.

I'm pretty sure Up is about as innocent as it gets. But then, some people spot racism in everything. Because some people are fucking retarded.

But you see I'm being racist there because when I say 'some' I really mean 'black' because I'm an evil racist, of course! /retarded conspiracy theory

Anyone badmouthing Pixar needs a good ol' treatment of sledgehammer to the knees. No one messes with my Pixar!

I say people are looking WAY too deeply into these things. This is disney and pixar we're talking about, not some indie producer trying to make a name for themselves. Dug calls Muntz and Carl master...I don't know, maybe cause he's a DOG? It wouldn't be a stretch to think that a dog who can talk would call their owner master, especially when the previous owner was an authoritative explorer. The idea of Russel representing China and Kevin South American is a stretch that would break the worlds biggest rubber band. Russel is a boy scout knock off trying to earn a merit badge so he can see his father again [something I kinda wish the movie had done a bit better, though I guess Carl makes for the father figure], and Kevin is a freakin bird, a mother bird trying to protect her children. Call that representing something but it sure isn't racism.

As much as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the beast resides there too.

Wanna know who else is racist? the answer is simple, renegade419

What if there really are no undertones and the movie really is just good clean fun? renegade419 may just be seeing his own interpretation of it all and in so doing makes it as racist as he feels it is.

Its like when some colored people will retort to any sort of negativity from a white man and say he's being racist when he could just have a valid reason to be negative regarding a subject.

renegade419 needs to lighten UP

Bah I was expecting genuine reasons why it could be racist, not this crap. Applying the same logic you could make anything racist.
It's as genuine as it gets, if a man feels that way there is no way you can't deny him that. And if you didn't feel the same way, it does not mean it isn't genuine for everyone.
