If you try hard enough, you can make literally ANYTHING sound racist. And there are people who make a good paycheck doing it. Ugh.

Or he could just be a troll trying to being a troll.
You just peaked my curiosity, what Symbolism and Subtext are in the Lion King other then "Don't Ignore Who you Are"?

OT: Yeah, he's definitely a Troll. Anyone who thinks that because the Dog says "Master" when referring to Carl (AKA Mr. Fredrickson) the movie is racist, they're stupid. Heck, with that kind of logic, you could say Wall-E is a Creepy Stalker! (A thought I have had several times)

Probably a troll but I genuinely have met people that are really like that and they never cease to piss me off, they tend to be about twice as racist as they claim everyone else is but because it's white people they hate and feel superior to they don't consider it racism because obviously white people aren't a race.

Reminds me of a court case a few years back where a british judge was quoted as having said:

"He can't be racist, hes Black,"

Awesome world we live in right?
And the most hilarious part of this is, it isnt even the non whites who pose the biggest threat to the caucasion freedoms and human rights, its other whites.

Stupidity is rife it would seem.
That would have made the national news, so can you cite either the case or the judge please?

If I want to find racist remarks from a movie, I will find them even they wouldn't really exist.

"He can't be racist, hes black."
So if black man or woman discriminates me for being white. That is not racism?
What if:
So if white man or woman discriminates me for being black. That is racism?

That dude who's said those quotes, clearly wants to start a fight, he wants to troll.
HE chooses to remain ignorant about basic ideas that run this world, he did not need to go to see that movie, I did not need to go and see that movie, I did not go and see that movie. He did not need to inspect the movie like that, he did not need to start a fight on youtube, just the truth that he started to whine on the forums takes some of hes credibility away, he might be chinese or slavia for all I know.

I think this falls in to the category of "There's always the one!"
If he got such a issue with Disney, go get a job there, or better make your own company and do movie with only black people who dscriminate whites, I don't care.
There is a historic grain of truth in what he says though, even if it's only historical and as such, no longer valid.

Walt Disney himself was actually a racist to heart, and so was Disney under his leadership. then again, Walts been dead for about half a century or so...
He was also anti-union, anti-women, anti-sematic, didn't credit people for work, paid stupidly smal amounts (can you tell ehat I do for a living?) etc etc etc.

On topic, calling UP racist is ludicrous. If Doug had black fur instead of being a goldren retriever I could MAYBE see a point. Wasn't the kid chinese anyway?
Asian at least from what I hear. Haven't seen it myself so don't really know.

I will give you a couple off the top of my head that I can remember. And to correct I was taught these things not teaching these things as my original post implied because I was missing a word.

1. Pride Rock - is the symbol of the male genitalia and in certain scenes is supposed to be an erect penis that has been disguised as a pile of rocks. Think Joe Camel only not flaccid.

2. Scar is Hitler in the scene where he is singing to his army of goosestepping hyenas. It bares a keen resemblance to a specific Nazi propaganda film

3. Scar is set apart from the Pride because he is the other - in this case Disney has declared the other as homosexual in the way they have characterized Scar.

4. Which dove tails nicely into the preferred Disney family unit which is portrayed to convey to children that the male centered family unit is desirable and good. The pride in the movie is setup like the all American family rather than like an actual Pride. The male lion for example wants nothing to do with the cubs.

5. The coloring of the lions as the lightest skinned of the main groups in the movie. Setting them up to the good white folks where everything the light touches belongs to them and their king. The dark place (you decide what that represents) is not for lions or white people to go.
To further back that up the Hyenas are played by Whoopi Goldberg and Cheech Marin. Also Scar is the darkest colored of the lions and his eyes are not drawn the same as the rest.

That's about all the crap I can remember and wish I hadn't. Reminder these are not my opinions this is what Film School 101 dished out while I was studying.

Check you out being all "Cite reference" and politically correct with your huffy puffy pants on.

No.

I can't it was in a newspaper about 6-7 years ago, Being able to find that reference would be like pulling Hens teeth but I'm sure you have some ego infused high horse you're going to preach from.

There have been many instances of racial prejudice towards the whites in Britian.
Anytime a white kid dies at the hands of non whites its just "Oh what a shame," but when some black kid gets taken out by the evil whitey they get memorials put up in their honour and every year on the news they get some mention.

Its pathetic.

And this is why moderators are a good thing, they keep the escapist from turning into Youtube.

OT: Rasicm is still a problem, i am not denying that, but people are jsut too trigger happy about it. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Sometimes, a story about an old guy with a dream is just a story about an old guy with a dream.

But, i think the underlying truth is that people just like to hate on things that are popular. I mean, look at the last couple years of popular stuff, genuingly movies that are trying to deal with bigger issues, getting bogged down by petty little nitpickers who like to feel important. Its gotten to the point where we can;t actually enjoy anyhting anymore, becuase 'the in thing' these days is to try and seem cool and alternative by hating on stuff that is popular (sometimes there is a legitimate reason to hate on popular stuff however). That, and there is a flood (actaully, i suppose i should call it a plague) of movies out there that are all about hidden messages and alternate meanings. Movies like Inception are great, but i hate what they are doing to some people, making everyone think they are some kind of hidden message super sleuth.

Well you see your first mistake was reading a youtube comment. Just assume everyone on youtube is an idiot or a troll and you'll be right most of the time. Your second problem is beleveing some douch about the symbolism. Symbolism is not one distinct way of interrupting things, its an infinite number of interpretations. I could look at UP wand get a story about WW2 or the zombie apocalypse if I want, but its not as if that was the original intention of the movie (probably). Thirdly, you've been trolled bro.
I don't really look for symbolism mostly because I'm not good at it, but I do noticed the obvious ones. No controversial interpretations here though.

I didn't even bother reading the whole thing. Just look at the guy's grammar. Whatever, just another disgruntled ass hole looking for racism where it isn't. Lots of racism threads lately.

I think it's either a troll or a madman. That's the only way the writing syntax could be so terrible, yet the found symbolisms so historical.

When you make a claim the burden of proof lies with you, the claimant. It's not politically correct to ask someone to substantiate their claim, it's simple & basic discourse. You repeatedly make what appear to be quite arbitrary claims, & then fly into a puerile sulk when asked to substantiate them.

An example of this is your claim regarding a judge's verdict exonerating a defendant on the grounds of being a racial minority, from what you imply was a racially motivated crime. If this had happened it would have changed the British Constitution. Bearing in mind the utter lack of references to such a change I can only conclude that you are mistaken about your claim.

With your unsubstantiated claims & your petulant outburst, do you really expect to be taken seriously?
