Well they only just removed everything we liked about the original games with the previous reboot, I guess the only direction they could possibly go is up right now
I was going to say assasins creed because of there refusal to really push the story forward in a attempt to push out more games but I think you hit the nail even better with fable.
I have a bad feeling about Fable: The Journey. I know it's not a proper addition to the franchise, but I just have this horrible feeling that it's going to do so badly that Fable 4 may never see the light of day, which is a terrible thought for me since I fucking love the Fable series.
MW3. If there is any justice in the world, people will realise that COD is just the same "yanks kill non-yanks" shooter that has 20 different versions of it made every year. And even if it continues on, there are no wars left for it to cover unless they grow some balls and take a crack at this whole "war on terroism" thing.
Also, Halo 4. I am ok with this, because we need to tie off the cliffhanger at the end of Halo 3. But a whole new trilogy? Really?
What no mention of Devil may Cry reboot? (actually I think the franchise was dying anyway so needs a new start) maybe the new Earth Defence Force it seems like they have changed it quite a bit, Halo 4 I think it would have to be pretty bad to destroy the franchise but cant see it rekindling interest in it either especially now Bungies not behind it. Combat Evolved remake has a better chance of ruining everything seeing as they are messing with peoples memories.
If there is another version of SF4 released, again cant see it ruining the franchise but I think it may turn people away from it just from over saturation with (to most peoples eyes) almost no real changes.
For me, Sonic Generations will kill the already dead-yet-undead Sonic franchise. It'll just be rushed and underdeveloped just to coincide with Sonic's 20th anniversary.
I felt Sonic Solours was a good look to see how Sonic could be getting better. I have not played the demo for Generations, but it looks like it could be a redeemer for Sonic 3D sonic games, if it was anywhere as great as Colours
And I am with Halo 4 on this one. OMG they should have stopped with Halo 3, but no Halo Wars, ODST and Reach add to be made. Halo is going to be milked to death. Before we know it, some rich guy is going to kick back up the MMO Halo game.
Are they actually doing a God of War 4???? I really hope not :'(

Sonic's 20th has already come and gone, dude. It was in June. If anything I think they're being quite careful with the release of this one.
OT: I think Bioshock Infinite could go either way. It's either going to reinvent the franchise or bugger it in a worse way than 2 did. I also think they should've stopped Halo after Reach, when they said they would.
The new 'XCOM' game makes me angry for so very many reasons. It's just shit, shit shit shit shit shit SHIT and I hope it fails utterly.
I don't think I've been this upset about a new game... ever actually. But my god does this one do the trick, it's like the developers went out of their way to find every conceivable way to annoy me. Blarg!
Unless, you know, the Reapers are actually being controlled by the "beings" that originally built them so in the next pentalogy you will be fighting the real gods. Man that wouldn't surprise me >_<
I want a Mass Effect: Reach kinda thing where you control the Protheans before they went extinct. Basically showing what happened when the Reapers became involved.
Being a rabid Halo fan, (i read everything play everything etc etc) i want halo to go on forever, but the non-stupid part of my brain says reach should be the last, as a series has to end before it become stale and rotten, i'm looking at YOU Nintendo and Sega!
The new XCOM. I mean microprose and hasbro really did a number on the franchise resulting in its untimely death but now 2K is digging up the corpse. Now when we talk about how great X-Com was we gotta add in "the original games"...... feels like when you talk about Star Wars.

To me, it's already dead.
Number 3 delivered the fatal blow, it had none of the magic (yes, subjective and personal feeling, I know...) that made Fable great.
I regret wasting money for the Limited Edition. I thought it was going to be the new pinnacle.
Personally, I've been disappointed greatly with it.
Fable: The Lost Chapters was the peak of the games, in my humble opinion :/
(Fable 2 was still great, though)
OT:
Currently, this seems like the next killing blow to a franchise I love.
Maybe it turns out pretty good, who knows, maybe I'll like, even love it when I've finally gotten to play it.
But the indicators I've seen are pointing towards an entirely different direction.
