No catchpha currently, so I'll use one I got earlier.

"Take a Survey" - A browser-based flash game, this first person shooter pits you against popup windows that promise, "A Free iPod Touch for 15 minutes of your time!" Shooting them down as they appear, each window has a chance to drop a power-up based on the spam that appeared in the window:
-Improve your Credit Score: Gives you a discount when buying upgrades.
-2" in 2 weeks!: Increased accuracy for a certain amount of time.
-You've Won a Free [popular electronic device]: Grants one grenade.
This needs to have have the Animaniacs in it also.

One of my favorites!
Entire episode (if you can stand it) [http://s84.photobucket.com/albums/k11/selfloathing30/?action=view&current=Animaniacs-SurveyLadies.mp4]
I have to applaud this. That was, by far, the most esoteric reference I've ever seen.

Seriously, after watching that just once I could not see the word "survey" without hearing those women. >.< I have never thought of finger prints in the same way either but that is a different episode.

And I would like to thank the Captcha people for making them even more unreadable. Congrats! Gutting out mushed up letters, who woulda thunk it?

I didn't get a captcha this time, so I'll use one that I remember fondly: The Isocrons.

The Isocrons are a race of peaceful alien bio-robots who live alongside humans in the future. They come in many shapes and sizes, some like animals, some like humans. They kind of belong to a hive-mind, but not really. They are free to make their own choices, but they can contact their matriarch telepathically at any time. However, a virus infected her is turning the Isocrons into, essentially, zombies of varying intelligence levels. In this future, guns are highly regulated by the government, so guns are extremely rare to come across being used by anyone but the military. They are also really expensive on the black market, and cheap ones are prone to miss-fire and/or break easily, so a lot of the combat until late in the game is melee-based, using knives and other assorted blades to defend yourself. By the end of the game, all of the Isocrons are infected, and the only way to kill the virus permanently is to wipe out their matriarch in a long, climactic battle full of lasers and space-dreadnoughts. Killing the Isocron matriarch also kills all of the remaining Isocrons. So you have the choice: Kill her and wipe out an entire species, or isolate the Isocrons for what could be forever and try to search for a way to cure the virus.

You play as an ordinary person on the human colony on Saturn's moon of Titan. Titan's Isocrons were the first to succumb to the virus, and you are one of the sole survivors of this carnage, almost completely due to dumb luck. Being an ordinary, person, you aren't all that strong or all that fast, nor can you fight very well. Considering the only weapons you can get at first are knives, you're pretty much helpless. Gameplay-wise, it starts out as a Action-Horror game, with a much greater emphasis on the action. About two-thirds of the way through, you are rescued from Titan by the human military and brought to a training camp on Mars, due to you being the only person they could find with much experience against the Isocrons. You spend a couple yeas there training. By the time you're ready, more than half of the human colonies in the galaxy have fallen to the Isocrons, including Earth. You receive a standard-issue rifle and powered armour, and the game becomes more like a shooter.

Wow, I put a lot of thought into this...

sounds awesome I would defiantly play that. though you could replace vampire with a Japanese/Chinese equivalent.
I think vampire is just a generally accepted term. It may be interesting to be a Nukekubi, though (vampire-like being that can detach its head and float around, Japanese folklore). I mostly used the vampire because I wanted the character to be completely ambiguous. How is what you look like a guessing game if you can see yourself any time something reflective enters your line of sight?

To help the vamps along: There have been Japanese vampire movies (based on western folklore) since the '50s

Reviving this thread, hopefully, I just found a good(ish) one.

Project omenoils

You are a corporate spy it is your job to rat out "evil" corporations. A public lobby group hires you to gather information on an oil driller. What you find is vicious human rights abuse. The goal of your character is to find tangible evidence of this and report it to the authorities on the matter. Easily done, but they don't really care. Goal changes: now you take down this company from the inside out.

I'm thinking it's a stealth game (avoiding getting hit as much as possible and doing generic superspy things), filled with the main character's moral ambiguity.

I hope this gets revived, it's a good thread and really deserves it.

Heywon declined
It shall be a mob game, where you play as all the evil and seedy elements of the mob, and just as your master plan was coming together, all you had to do was offer your very stereotypical Mexican immigrant worker, Heywon, an offer he couldn't refuse. Now, at the crux of your power, Heywon declined. Now you must fight off Heywon from trying to take over the family.

Ikeel al-Khimar.

It is India, the year 2000. Al-Khimar, your faithful student, has betrayed you. He has kidnapped your wife and children, and is holding them for ransom. The government refuses to assist, so you come to a conclusion. *zooms in on player* "I will kill al-khimar." *sounds of guns being cocked*

How was that? I sure enjoyed writing it :p

"Seizures Online"?

That game sounds like absolute shit. Or a screamer. But I'll give it a shot.

"It's the year 2011. A hacker has started spreading pictures around the internet that start out as a visual-joke, and slowly bend the minds of the viewer into a writhing mess. It is up to you, a random dude on the internet, to somehow be sucked into the internet, don a skin-tight suit (by jove are you fat), and save the world from this guy with a picture-spreading bot-net!"

How's that?

Inception Nutgrold.

I leave it to your imagination as to what kind of upsetting Inception licensed game this could possibly be.

Or... I just want a game about Inglip.

umbas mcghee

Got one finally jesus...

So this is a game about a man named Umbas mcghee. He lived a normal life until one day he was hit by a car. This put Umbas into a deep coma. Umbas is now trapped inside his subconscious mind and you have to help him out. Unfortunetly for Umbas part of his mind had slowly been storing away evil thoughts and has now let loose the evil. You must guide Umbas through everything from him being bullied at school to the last news report Umbas heard on tv about a phyco pyro setting peoples houses on fire and watching them burn. And to finish the game you must make a terrible choice, Umbas finds that he is actually a very evil man and must kill himself to protect the ones he loves, or let himself live and continue to do evil things.

(yeah I half assed tryed on this one)
