I swear a lot. They're useful general purpose adjectives that can be applied in nearly all situations. It's a lot easier than taking the time and effort to have actual wit.

It helps that I couldn't care less if I offend people. If someone doesn't like the way I speak, they can go fuck themselves. That's really all there is to it.

How often do you use curse words and why?

I use them a lot. Not because I think it makes me look "cool", I use them simply because they are frowned upon in society which makes it all the more fun to use them. (if you have a problem with why I curse then keep your opinions to yourself)
If you don't want peoples opinions, why did you post on a forum? Just using curse words to piss people off is just as bad as using them to look cool.

I rarely curse, there are just more creative/intelligent ways to get the point across. I don't care if anyone else does but I tend to burn people much more eloquently than "fuck you asshole"

I curse a lot more often now than I did two years ago. I like to think that my many... colourfully-languaged ex-flatmates had a hand in the transformation of my daily speech. However, online I only curse when expressing great anger or for comedic value, neither of which are applicable here.

I use them for emphasis

though when some people swear it just makes them seem stupid rather than witty or cool

Okay, TomLikesGuitars. I have a bone to pick with you. WOPR, my boyfriend, is right about people who curse for no reason aren't very bright. So what if cursing is a bunch of sounds coming out of your vocal chords? The point is that there are better ways to convey your opinions and feelings without cursing. I don't curse, either. Why? Because I know of better ways to say things. You can impact a person strongly without the use of a curse word, and just as strongly as though you did use one.

I don't swear, but I'e no problem with other people using them, unless it's excessive. overusing a word always annoys me, no matter the word.

I swear quite a lot. Usually in Finnish though. "Ah, fuck" just feels tame compared to "No voi vittu".
ah the most beautiful language to curse and make people cower in fear when PERRRRKELE hits the room after i hit my toes to something

Swearing adds emphasis. It isn't particularly eloquent- but, much like resorting to infinite loops in coding (another thing that my teacher has just informed me is frowned upon), it gets the job done.

I swear a lot because my industry actually requires it. If you work in the music business and you don't swear every so often, people tend to think that you're shady and not to be trusted.

I use curse words all the time.

Why? Because I f***ing can.

Brits do it A LOT. Americans are very reserved about that sort of thing (Except in movies, where the characters curse every other word)

Its HILJAA SAATANA, well correct word put would be SAATANA HILJAA.

StrangerQs little shop of how to curse in finnish is open for business.
If you happen to be finnish dont bother because you already have mastered that art.

But if any of you poor souls have ever met finn its really too probable that he thought bit of art of cursing for you

so translation and minor grammar for those who want to know what the fuck or vittua you are saying XD (curse words and grammar? hurray i have found my lifes meaning)
