Guys/robots with rocket launchers, Supermutant Masters and Overlords with ranged weapons are arm shots.

Giant radscorpions, Grenades.

Deathclaws... AIM FOR THE LEGS!

If they are too far away, use the sniper rifle.

Always the head unless I have a pants chance to hit. Then I go for the weapon holding arm (again, percentage chance to hit depending). Then body shot.

Always the head.
Coupled with Grim Reaper's Sprint perk (completely restores all AP when you get a kill in VATS) I can just run into a room and take everyone out in like 5 seconds.

Yea, that made things hilariously easy in F3. New Vegas nerfed it and made it so that it only restored 20AP on kill

Using Project Nevada with a fully upgraded Vermint Rifle until I get my hand on a propper sniper rifle like a Gauss or the Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle.. I don't use VATS at all and aim for the head myself. *snicker*

Nothing like seeing stuff drop dead from miles away with its pals having no clue what just happened.

Don't use V.A.T.S., but when I tried it out in F3, I always went for the best part: a rough & quick estimate of which part has the best damage with a hit chance worth it.

Head. Legs are a close second. I like to pretend they squirm about after I decapped it.

yeah before i also always went for the crotch, if they were still alive after that i'd stick my pistol in their face and shoot out their eyes.
nowadays though i just shoot them in the face repeatedly in V.A.T.S. when i use it, i much prefer to use regular aiming and shoot their weapons out of their hands and then blow out their legs while they come at me, so much fun.

Usually I go for a headshot, unless I'm fighting enemies I can't behead as easily (i.e. robots), the head chance to hit is too low or its the fiend leaders. I especially love headshots with the anti-materiel rifle and bloody mess... hehehe, three of his limbs and his head just fell off...

I prefer VATS not existing...

If that's not an option, I'll go head almost every time.

in the old games i ALWAYS aimed for the eyes. I remember in fallout 1 i had a bajillion shotgun shells cause i pickpocketed every guard in the hub, and when i was fighting things it was always combat shotgun to the eyes....ouch.

I usually favour the legs, then as the hobble towards me I backpedal; dropping landmines in their path.

Unless I don't have any mines, then I just go for the head.

You shoot them in the crotch. It's really a no brainer to just select down there and fire away.

If not, then just one in the face.

Since I have that perk that makes more damage when filling the torso with lead, I always go for the torso using one of these high-powered weapons, such as a rifle or a shotgun.
If not, I aim for a nearby grenade, dynamite bar or mine.

If VATS isn't your "Headshot on Demand" button, you're not using VATS properly. That said, it is occasionally useful to take out a mob's legs if it looks like it's got some sweet lewts on it, especially if you're using an enhanced limb-damage effect mod.

Eyes. Definetly.

Eyes. definitely the eyes. Of course , the best part about aiming for the eye is that even if you miss the eye, you still hit the head.

Plus because blinding that boxer in New Reno was the only way I could ever win that damn championship, even using the plated boxing gloves.

Dermal Impact Armor. With it that boxing championship is piece of cake.

More improtantly it seems, if there was an option to aim for the groin, would you take this option instead? and how often?
