they taught me to read witch i learnt from pokemon not the reading part but the motivation to learn to.

that anyone that wants to bone you and doesn't know you well. will either kill you in your sleep or steal alot of your stuff or ask you for money

Use stealth when you can. You may not get experience, but you don't lose anything either.

My sense of direction improved with exploration games.

RPG's like KOTOR aught me some great life lessons . Handon (the lying guy on Dantooine that killed Caulder) showed me that over-friendly people are probably trying to hide something.

Time Crisis greatly improved my reflexes.

Hit walls in a castle randomly. There's gotta be roast chicken somewhere.

Ok, i didn't learn English only by playing video games, but it definitely helped me refine it.
this, and the ability to quickly accept things as they happen, and think about what to do next instead of thinking "oh noes, whyyy??!!1"

Also, many games can teach history very well, like WWII or the medieval ages
