Just to add my 2 cents, I can only assume this is the same with other people, but as a PC gamer I get tired of seeing something that looks awesome, only to find it only available on 360 and PS3. While i HATE bad ports (particularly ones that they couldn't even be bothered to change easy stuff like, press a to continue, or tutorials that you have to figure out the different puttons "I press A and it does nothing! What do you actually want me to press?!"), a somewhat crap port is better than nothing.

Sure the updates thing has gotta be annoying, but all systems have their ups and downs. You get content designed with your system in mind more often, we get more updates and sometimes additional content free. It's just a trade off.

What he said. In order to release the updates, Valve will have to charge for them, which would split the playerbase and cause all sorts of issues. They don't want to screw you over, but MS doesn't let them do much.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of Valve. Maybe my favorite, but the console ports are lame, I mean why can't they give them the TF2 Updates, and L4d was only fun with the custom maps after you finished the campaigns 100 times in one week. Hopefully this will be fixed with portal two with the ps3.

It's XBL's fault. They want to make Valve charge for the content but Valve doesn't want to.

Hell no. Yes the PS3 ports were bad, but doesn't mean they should stop. Portal 2 has been called the best one to buy out of the copies to make up for it.

You kidding me? I've played a lot of Valve's games for the 360 and while they may be a good-great PC developer they're quite a terrible console developer.

If anything they need to work more on the console games they release if they ever want to release anything good for them.

I'm confused about what the problem is. If you want the best possible quality for a game then play it on the original platform. There are plenty of shoddy console ports on PC that haven't been properly converted to mouse + keyboard and suffer as a result.
Some of the Valve games that you are mentioning are merely the few (and there are not many) where the reverse occured.

Look, valve is a PC focused company, us PC gamers have to wait god knows how long for titles like fable 2 and 3 etc, IF they even decide to give us those games on PC, you console gamers get some of the best games around, AND our valve is nice enough to let you have their games on console, pffft we deal with it, so you should do the same.

Also, just get a decent computer for games like that if it means so much to you, you don't need to spend 1,000's just a few hundred can get you a decent gaming computer, i would do the same and get a 360, but i'm still living off tins of beans from the computer I got last year, god I love this little beauty :') but back to my point, computers are overal better with the games we DO get, as we have better graphics, easier interface, usually get more content, mods for most games, cheats that console users don't get, overall, it was your choice to buy a 360 before a good computer.

You can not honestly complain for your mistakes in spending money, sure I wont be able to play fable 2 and 3 for a long time, along with many other games, I could have got a 360 and PS3, hell I could have got all the consoles for the amount I spent on this beauty, but it was a smart move, unlike yours with your tiny 360, now have fun while I torre... i mean spend my money to get some more perfectly legal and non-free games

I agree that the ports for their games suck but I'd wait until Portal 2 is being released. It wasn't them who made the console ports for their games but they're doing the Portal 2 port themselves and knowing Valve they've put a lot of effort into that.

If it's any consolation they seem to be planning on making a bigger push when it comes to console hence expanding their market to the PS3 as well.

(Yeah, I know The Orange Box was released for the PS3 as well but it got even less support than the 360 version).

I choose D! And also I don't mind (as a PS3 owner). I'd like it if Valve improved PS3 support though. Hopefully this'll happen with Portal 2.

I'm pretty sure that Valve has a plot to attempt to bring down console gaming markets...
They absolutly hate it. They only care about stuff for the PC, in all reality. I own TF2 on xbox and on PC, (I recently just started playing it again... DAMN RROD!) And I have had 10,000 times more fun on PC just by finding items and getting to use them.

I prefer console gaming, (Why i bought LFD and L4D2 on xbox) and any valve game besides left 4 dead, I now attempt to steer away from. (Calling you out, Portal 2)

They are a good company, and just decided to try to cash in on the rich and delicious Console gaming market.

Em I really don't see a problem with this. Especially on the custom map part. This is the reason why people play on the PC. They play for things like mods and people play console for simplicity I thought that was fairly obvious. I will admit the update on TF2 is shitty but now you know how a lot of PC gamers feel about console ports of games made to work on consoles that could be better on PC. An example of this for me is the ability ring in ME which ruined combat. I would have much rather got it on PC if it had all the abilities able to be hotkeyed so they wouldn't ruin the flow of combat. Also I didn't like Portal.

Get a PC and a console, then you can play valve games on the PC and other games on console... Thats what i did, and its working out great so far... then you dont need to be angry (and you can play console exclusives and PC exclusives )
