*is rather interested in how these more organic, destroyed enviroments will actually look in game... concept art routinely looks a hell of a lot better than the final game unfortunately*

I can't help but be excited. Hell, the testchambers are supposed to be modifiable, so there's plenty of gameplay opportunities there :)

I'm sorry...They meant Team Fortress 2, right?

No matter how good it is...it won't be TF2.

I heard they replaced the portal gun with a wrench, because it was overpowered.

Seriously though, I'm more than ready to give a pile of cash for this game to valve as soon as they'll let me.

Let's just hope it isn't their best game ever for the future games they might release.

The thing about Valve is that it's okay to get hyped up, because from the entire time I started buying from Valve, about 10 years ago, they've delivered nothing but wonderful quality games. With the exception of Steam requiring you to be connected to the internet, they've also been very lenient when it comes to DRM. This is a good thing, I've never pirated a Valve game and never intend to.

I myself loved the first Portal, my only beef was what they said they were going to address. It's like a can of Vienna sausages, once you start to get into it, it ends, and you're left feeling very much alone and cake-less.

Call me a fanboy, but I think I'm gonna be one of those Pre-Order heretics you see so much of these days.

Okay, Half-Life 2 has been waiting for completion for SIX YEARS. SIX. YEARS. Hell, its been two and a half since Episode 2! Meanwhile they're churning out sequels to unique games which could easily have stood on their own because they're MONEY-GRABBING WHORES.

Talented, upper-class whores who bring their own riding crops and wash at least once a day, but whores nonetheless.

Blimey, words like that from VALVE of all people will certainly get the hype train moving...

I'm just concerned that it isn't comming for the PS3... =\

I can only imagine the shitstorm that would rise if any other company made such a statement.

From the company that basically changed the FPS genre, this is a huge statement.
What did they do to change any genre? No doubt they make very good games, but I can't think of anything truly innovative besides the gravity gun, which nobody else used except Dead Space.

Well, this better be a triumph, or even better, a huge success, because, so far, I've found it hard to overstate my satisfaction. And, yes, I had to do that.
don't worry it's valve the do what they most becuse the can ,for the good of all of us. exept the one who are dead.

Well, Half-Life was a pretty revolutionary game.

"We got the signals that we wanted -- this is what people liked; this is what people didn't like. And to us, it was like, 'OK now we know how to take this big,' so that's what we're going to do with Portal 2."
They listened to what the fans liked?

It's going to be full of Weighted Companion Cubes and cake jokes. Calling it now.
He listened to what the fans wanted?

It's going to be "Half Life 2: Episode Three".
