VALVe wins -infinite- Internets if they announce Portal 3, Left 4 Dead 3, Team Fortress 3, Half-Life 2:Episode 3 and Half-Life 3 ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

That would actually be hilarious if they did that.

I think Left 4 Dead 3 would probably be the most likely. I can't see them releasing a new Portal any time too soon and they've been trolling us about the next Half-Life for years. I don't think it's even possible to visualize what TF3 would be like, so I doubt that would be it either. Honestly, I think they might just be trolling us yet again.

The Beta sign could mean two things:

1) The beta for something. This could be Team Fortress 3 (you never know), Left 4 Dead 3, a demo for Half Life 3/Episode 3...anything

OR

2) Beta is a type of radiation, next to alpha and gamma. Substances give off radiation. When a substance starts degrading, the time it takes to degrade is known as its HALF LIFE. I may have defined half life wrongly, but they could be referencing the type of radiation, meaning it will be about Half Life.

But who knows, it's Valve.

Your definition was close enough. A Half-Life is the time it takes for half of the radiation to decay. It will never go completely, as the rate of decay of radiation is a curve that never reaches 0. Halving the present amount of radiation always takes the same amount of time. So Beta Radiation is indeed linked to the Half-Life.
Of course, that Twitter account is probably a fake so it doesn't really matter.

Half Life 3, but with a little glados and portals, and maybe a co-op section where one player is Gordon, the other is Chell. Yeah sounds stupid but it would be the most pleasant nerdwank to have in a decade, and I'd love it

BTW according to some wiki sites the two games also take place in the same universe, and seeing that Valve is not thinking about making a third Portal nor a game set within an isolated environment, this stupid little idea even makes sense.

Yes they take place in the same universe. Have you not heard the characters mention Black Mesa and Aperture Science multiple times? However, depending on how long Chell was kept in Stasis, I really doubt they'll meet up. After all, Chell was in a countryside while Gordon is heading to the Borealis up north. Besides, City 17 is somewhere in Europe, while both Black Mesa and Aperture were in North America. The chances of themm meeting one another is virtually zero, however another rogue computer A.I? Likely.

IF this is actually an ARG (and that's still a big 'if' at this point) it's almost certainly to do with the DLC that's being released in January and not Half-Life. Erik and Chet made a point to stress that they aren't really connecting the two series with anything more than little nods and Easter eggs (the Borealis docking bay, the Black Mesa references) so it wouldn't really make sense for them to tangle advertisement for the two games together.

Not to mention the fact that every time there's a Portal-related ARG or surprise announced, people flip their shit and assume it's a secret Half-Life announcement. And every time Valve has to say something like "PORTAL 2 RELATED FOR GOD'S SAKE" to clear up the confusion.

Thanks for that link! I didn't have anything to do with the Wheatley video, it was just his nomination speech for the VGAs. As has been stated openly by Chet and others in the past, I've been working on voices for Dota 2. We used Hal Robins, the same voice actor who did Dr. Kleiner, to do some Kleineresque lines for the Dota hero known as Tinker. That's the extent of the HL references. There is no more to it than that.
