Vampires, how should they be?

Yes I know another vampire thread, it hurts me too don?t worry about it.

But now it seems the vampire popularity has been rising, and I thought vampires was the most popular thing in the world but with twilights release vampires are now not some thing we fear but now some thing we love.
But, I am some one who finds science-fiction some thing a bit too serious to be fudged around with like this person did with twilight. There have been many different vampire movies and in each one the vampires are different. Twilight, they glow in the sunlight, some turn to ash; some slowly die a torturing painful kind of death by sun light and so on and so forth.
Now the question, what is to you a vampire, like the way they can die, the things they can and cannot do and so on. Here is what I think, I believe vampires are able to walk out in the sun, touch holly water and all of that crap, they don?t only die by a wooden steak in the heart, they do regenerate quickly, of course the must feed on blood, they DO NOT have a German accent (no offence to the Germans, it just doesn?t fit with vampires) and lastly they are generally stronger and faster then humans but cant turn into a bat or use any other kind of magical power.
You guys agree or think they should be some other way?

I like the Anne Rice school of vampire, though they should be able to fly. and turn into bats and smoke so more really the Bram Stoker style really.

Vampires, in my opinion, are patient hunters that feed on human blood to retain immortality. They're extremely photosensitive, to the point that some might spontaneously combust. Otherwise, they're critically burned by it, often proving fatal. Stakes kill them, but holy water and garlic just does serious damage to their system, meaning they can touch them but not consume either.

Most vampires are rather horrific in their true guise, but they have the ability to change their features. Some more powerful vamps, like the ever-popular Dracula, can even transform into different animals. This is their primary tool against their prey, seeing as they can shapeshift into whatever form seems the most pleasing to their target. They also have enhanced senses, speed, and strength. They can't fly, but they can jump significantly higher and farther than humans can.

Vampires speak in whatever accent they were born with, be it American, British, or Japanese. Most all of them have no pity for humans, and would sooner sunbathe than change their habits to protect one. They're overall a very cruel and sly race, opportunistic and selfish. And they don't play baseball in the rain. Ever.

It's a shame you didn't ask about werewolves, they're my personal favorite monsters.

The light from the moon is much less intense, so it doesn't affect them. Kind of like radiation.

Yep, thats why vampires don't actually excist. They became exstinct a long time ago.

Darren Shan's Vampaneze fit the bill quite nicely from a horror standpoint. Otherwise I quite like Terry Pratchet's take on vampires.

Um, I would go with Alucard from Hellsing, but he's ridiculously powerful. Even by anime standards he is ridiculously powerful.
I think of two types of vampires. Regular ones and super powered ones like Alucard.
Regular ones can't go out in sunlight. They can't shapeshift. They need to drink blood; any kind of blood really. They just prefer human blood. Crucifixes don't hurt them unless they're made of silver. Piercing the heart can kill them. It can be pierced with a sword a bullet anything. Decapitation always kills them. Plus super senses, strength and speed.
Super vampires can go out in sunlight. Can shapeshift and hypnotize people and can regenerate from deadly injuries.

I read about that. That movie sounds fucked up.

I lean towards the Oblivion and Shadowrun schools of vampire, where a vampire can be a ravenous monster, but can just as easily be a well-mannered member of society.

vampires: sun burns them, maybe not kills them but it is irritating, like destroying their sight and making them weaker than an average human. Holy water is a joke, and so is the stake and the garlics... They have super streangth, perhaps the force of at least 10 humans, they also have high speed and can fly! their eyes are red. they have sharp fangs and their skin is dead pale. they have better sight, smell and hearing than any other creature! they are also incredible beutyfule people, they look good, their voice will entrhall you and their smell is charming, this is a weapon used to draw people close to them. of course they suck human blood! since vampireism is said to be some kind of virus they can logicaly be harmed by silver, that should also slow their regeneration. one of the strongest powers that elder vampires posses is that all vampires from their "clan" must obide their order, they cannot decide to betray their master becouse their body will not listen to the minds own free will when an order is given!

they do not have the power to transform into a bat or any other creature but they have a "demonic" form where they look like huge half men half bat monsters, this is their true form. vampires cannot die from age nor any mortal weapon that won't blow their body to shreds. they are arrogant creatures looking on themself as perfect beeings, thosse of them who do not most likely hate their "dark gift" and look on themself as monsters and murderes.

some vampires also live in pace with human, surviving on blood donated from hospitals, this is from an agreement they made with the exorcists (the secret millitary of the pope) the vampires also have a rank system, where you find the elders and the nobles on top and the newly transformed vampires on the bottom, humans can only become vampire if they are bit by one, but not killed. its the toxin from their fangs that transform you.

The shorter time since the last time a vampire fed the stronger will it be, if one goes for days or a couple of weeks without feeding they will become weak as if losing their powers, if they go any longer than this they will lose their minds and their human shape forewer, these vampires are called "awakened ones"

since vamipres regenerate quickly would the very best way to kill them be by blowing them up or seperating their head from the body.
