Alright Im not sure if anyone talked about this game since the search bar sucks but oh well.

I saw this game when E3 came out but I dont think it got much attention. Its a game made by Platinum Games [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platinum_Games]. Judging from the video the gameplay looks really fast and fun for a third person shooter, moving cover to cover is now fun by power sliding with rockets attached to your suit.

The game looks fun and the graphics are nice as well, my only concern is the game might focus too much on awesome gameplay but not on story just like they did with Bayonetta.

But oh well what matters is if the game is fun, right?

Edit: Found some more gameplay.

No idea why, but that shot over the big curved area just made me think "The Citadel!"

OT: Looks like it could be fun for awhile but then lose the enjoyment.

Fuck. Yes.

Got this game in my sights since the first glimpse, and I ain't letting it out until launch.

The fact that it has no multiplayer is also a big plus, meaning full resources are going into the main game.

My thoughts exactly :p

Although co op would be nice.

Looks pretty sweet. However, there is room for skepticism because Japanese developers aren't quite as experienced in first/third person shooters than western developers. The only notable shooters I know from the top of my head is a few capcom ones: RE4, RE5, and a game that started with P.N. I've only played RE4 on the Wii, and it's one of the best games I've played, but well, it plays mostly like an action-adventure rather than a shooter. RE5 took the shooter aspect a bit further, and it arguably suffered as a result. And no one remembers the P.N. game anyway. Feel free to mention any other Japanese games that I may have missed.

If one thinks of Bayonetta as Japanese twist on the God of War series (though in reality it was more of a successor to Devil May Cry), then we can expect Vanquish to be the same thing for the Gears of War series, and I'm sure Platinum Games knows what they are doing.

Interesting. Though, all games have potential. However, I'm not sure what to think of this game yet. You seem a little too tough in the game for it to be much of a challenge, but otherwise it could be a bunch of fun simply sliding into people firing away.

Again, potential is there, but I would like to see so much more.

That looks wicked, my first impression from the video is like a mix of ME2 and Prototype (in terms of character control). Hope there's a good story to it, but more importantly - tell me that's not a console exclusive?

Two words - difficulty setting! :D

Platinum games?
Wow, I thought they went bankrupt.
I think you can trust that the makers of Eternal Darkness are going to deliver a good, nay great game.

Looks awesome.
I believe Hideo Kojima is involved in it aswell.

EDIT: Damnit, I was thinking of Silicon Knights.
Who're Platinum Games then?
Oh, the creators of Bayonetta and Madworld.
Guess it still has potential.
I hope this is the easy setting though, because the main character just took a missile to the face and walked away.

Does look rather fun. Plus, as Onyx said, no multiplayer means better single player. Me like.

It's on a space station, that centripetal orbit design for making a space station with natural gravity has been a standard in loads of video games for like forever, first one I can think of with it I think would be Policenauts, might have shown up even earlier though.

Nope. He's not.

Anyways, on topic, yeah, I like how they're basically taking a lot of japanese ideas and trying to meet half way with western 3ps's, Japanese game developers need to not let go of what makes them unique these days.

Well that little one liner just made me not care about this game at all. No multiplayer? Am I supposed to spend 60 dollars on a 8 hour singleplayer? Yeah right.

Can't please everyone, it seems.
And who says it's 8 hours anyway? This looks a lot like Mass Effect 2, which was 25-35 hours.

In fact, the whole video I was thinking "Wow, it's ME2 with rocket boots... I like"

The real question is, how does the non-combat part of the game play out? What's the story like? Or is there even any? Hmm. More research is required.

edit: Fuck. 360/PS3 only. Why the hell can't Japanese people make PC games? Do they even have computers there?

It reminds me of Lost Planet 2 with real main characters and a story (possibly)

EDIT: Yep definately LP2 with a cooler combt system and likeable characters. If this game was co op it would make up for no onlinreplay.

A spectacle-shooter? Great, that's exactly the kind of game i like. I'll keep an eye on it. The powered armour also looks a LOT cooler than ones in Wankhammer or Starcraft - an elegant suit for a more civilized warrior.

EDIT: Oh crap, it's only for consoles. Bullshit, i say... i would gladly pay for that game.
