I couldn't go Vegetarian and I'd go insane if I even considered attempting Veganism, but I have been friends with the more accepting ones, one of my best friends in high school was a Vegetarian practically all her life by her own choice, she didn't like the idea of eating meat but when everyone around her was eating it she wouldn't try to convince us to stop. I wish they were all more like her.

I'm a pescedarian myself. I eat fish, but not meat.

I think that veganism is a step too far.

Sure you're healthy, but life is for enjoying.

The reason I don't eat meat is because it tastes horrible to me.
God bless you my son :D

I can't stand people who are pescedarian who think killing the poor 'ickle piggies is wrong but it's ok to brutally murder fish. It boils my fucking blood. I eat meat btw I just can't stand the hyposcrisy.

There's a really funny Armstrong and Miller sketch where one of them is veggie and the other isn't. They are at the veggies house and he hasn't done meat for his mate so his mate says "why haven't I got meat", veggie says "We're veggetarians", he says "but I did you a veggie meal when you came over". I actually think they have a point thoughm why should meat eaters cater to veggies and not the other way around?

People claim to be Vegan or Veggie because of the animals yet eat and drink soya products grown on deforested rainforest also sicken me, surely Orangutans and shit are more important than cows bred to be eaten.

I have no real problem with either although I cannot understand it, what I do have a problem with is that many of them strike me as massively hypocritical tossers.

Also from an evolutionary point of view we have evolved with meat in our diet so I think to cut it out is unhealthy. It was eating meat which catalysed our brains to grow as well.

tl;dr: No veganism for me, I am an omnivore the way nature intended, plus a lot of vegans and veggies strike me as hypocritical tossers.

Because I already can't have wheat or milk, taking out things like meat and eggs would leave me with veggies, beans, and tofu.

I'd never become Vegan. I love steak (especially rare) just way too much to give it up by choice.
If someone chooses not to eat something due to personal beliefs, I have no problem with that. Thinking they're above my because I don't follow the same belief system is too much in my opinion.

I think I could be able to be a vegetarian, but that would imply wasting a lot of money in soy and things that would help me keep healthy. Meat has a lot of necessary stuff that the majority of food doesn't.

My room mate last year was a strict vegetarian, and he dated a vegan girl. They both thought I was disgusting because I ate a kielbasa sausage when I went with them to dinner. Furthermore, she refused to wear leather, and dislike that I wore a leather jacket.
That's not fair. You respect them choosing to be vegetarian or vegan, they shoul respect your choices.

Sorry, I can't tell. Are you including me in with those people you hate or saying that I'm not one of those people because the only reason I don't eat meat is I don't like the taste?
The post was clearly complimenting you for not pretending to eat that way out of a sense of moral superiority, because that's frankly bullcrap.

So no, mattman106 does not hate you.

I am totally against factor farmed food, but I like meat too much to give it up completely. But I rarely eat it these days, and when I do it is always organically and ethically farmed farmed animal. It costs quite a bit more, but I don't mind paying for that.

I'm not including you :) you only distinguish between meat and fish because you don't like meat but you do like fish.

It's the hypocrits who decide that one is worthy of death and not the other for some arbitrary reason I dislike.

Oh, so that's how you spell it...

I'm also a pescedarian.

OT: I hate vegan substitutes for food that contains dairy, so no, I wouldn't do it.

I'm not fond of vegans at all. I think a lot of their beliefs are insane, such as not using wool. I won't rant on about them, but at least they aren't as insane as the raw food activists.

I understand the point of view, animals suffer needlessly for our delight, and am considering switching over, or going flexitarian.

I am a vegan :-D so naturally therefore i do like it :p. the lazy appraoch to answer the why question is to link to peta so here it is: http://www.peta.org/

Basically veganism is my passion and i wouldn't give it up for anything, despite everyone i know thinking i'm nuts for being one and being bombarded with the same questions everyday. I love animals and don't think they are on this earth for our own personal use so we should treat them fairly. Btw there are fake dairy products which help.
So you're killing all the animals? Farming is demand and supply - the more the demand, the more animals raised, vegan-ism means less demand and therefore less raised - millions of animals have gone without the chance to exist because of freaks like you (your in a statistically low population percentage and therefore a freak by technical definition).

And don't come back with "it's a life imprisoned" or the ilk - it's a chance of life, what happens in that life may not be in there control but they will not go hungry and will not have to worry about predators (until they reach the "right-age" when they will at least be killed quicker than a tiger attack). Yes it's a life in prison but would you like every man who's in prison for life be terminated too, not having a chance of life?

I love animals so I eat as many as I can, even those that don't taste so good (never been a big sheep or cow lover, but piggies, hmmmm, I could eat bacon raw, let the blood drip right down my jaw)..

Animals raised for clothing live even better lives so no one should be against your leather jacket.

How many animals are wild? Especially of the size or lethality of a bull? If it wasn't for farming most of them wouldn't exist.

So grit your teeth and dig in, even if you don't like the taste, it's for their own good!

No, because going full vegan would require waaaay too much work. You'd have to check in on every single food manufacturer to see if they do anything that might even remotely affect animals. Also, the food tastes bleh. I've tried some.

I could never ever become a vegan. I don't mind if someone other is, as long as he/she doesn't ***** about me eating meat or advertise how wonderful it is to be a vegan. And yeah, it's really easy to have a serious deficiency of important nutrients in your diet, if you're a vegan or have any other clearly restricting eating habits, unless you have really put your mind into it.

This thread should have had some kind of a poll, by the way.
