Who's the one video game character you loved/really like/adored/cared about/(fill in positive words here) and to balance things out, who do you really hate (please put who you like before putting down who you hate please, thank you).

I've always loved Nathan Drake, one of the few characters that not only seemed real, but I related to.

For hated, I fucking despised Roman Bellic.

I love Dante (pre-Ninja Theory, mind you). He's such a magnificent bastard that I can't help but adore him.

I hate Jack in Mass Effect 2 because of her attitude. Even after she mutilates mechs in a matter of seconds, mechs that take Shepard and co. a good chunk of time to destroy, she still seems like she's trying too hard.

My favorite Game character is Francis from Left 4 dead.
He hates everything (except vests) so he's a cool guy in my book. (Although, he probably hates books.)

Rochelle, from Left 4 dead 2.
She's always screaming, it gets on my nerves.

Love: Dante and Vergil from DMC, Price from Modern Warfare 1&2 and Alistair from Dragon Age.
Hate: Tingle and Navi. Nero from DMC.
But I ESPECIALLY hate the new Dante from DMC 5. They done killed a well good character... RIP my friend.

Love: Cortez from Timespillters, Faith Conners, Captain Price, Nathan Drake

(And, i'm not sure if this counts, but the cannon galleons from AOE2, i loved bombarding the enemy coastline)

Hate: Crash Bandikoot, Princess Peach, and all the civilians on Mercenaries 2 who suddenly decide life isn't worth living anymore and jump into the road as soon as you speed past them.

Can't think of anyone I hate off the top of my head. I generally don't hate video game characters, but I know there are a few who have earned my ire.

Edit: Thought of one (or rather more than one).

Spoiler: The common infected in the L4D series.

They are so good damn annoying sometimes that I hate them with the fiery passion of a thousand suns. Play the TAAAAAAANNNNNKKKK! mutation and you'll understand what I mean.

"Gotta run away, run away from those tanks. Wait, what's suddenly stopped me? Oh, it's just a common infected behind me, I'll just kill him and get going. Wait two more are attacking me from the front. Damn it! Now even more I coming to get me and-" *WHAM* Tank punch

Or Emile, easily. Tried Wayyyyyy to hard to be badass. Kat comes off as annoying and almost impersonal. When she kicked the bucket I really could care less. "6! Do everything!"
Emile. My god. How can anyone like that guy? What does he do? YOU PLAY 3 LEVELS WITH HIM. And just one alone with him. He makes cracks about his team, doesn't seem to care about anyone but himself. and You know he thinks he looks cool with that helmet.

And while many people didn't like him, or rather them, I grew fond of the Claptraps from Borderlands.
Definitely put Alistair from Dragon Age on here as well.

Shepard in ME. Sure, he/she can be pretty different every time you play, but as long as you don't make him/her a racist, I absolutely love the character. And most of his team too. Apart from a few...

Hate: Jack and Zaeed in ME2. They seem to be total assholes. And Ashley. I mean c'mon, she is only alive because I have a weird ritual of murdering Kaidan. She should show some gratitude.

Montezuma from Civ 4. What the hell is his problem?

AAAAAAND Everyone in FFXIII (except for maybe Lightning).

Like: Garrus from Mass Effect. I was pretty shaken when he died in Mass Effect 2...

Hate: Barney from Half-Life 2. I just can't like that guy... or the rebels... or the vortigaunts...

Love: Ratchet and Clank, every character from ME 1 &2, particularly Garrus, Mordin, and Tali (except Jacob, I even liked Udina more because even though he was annoying, he at least was good for a laugh, Jacob is utterly boring.) and no doubt some characters from a few other games that don't come to mind at this moment.

Hate: Vann and Penelo from FF12, the rest were tolerable. Never played FF13 so I have no reason to hate them...yet.
