I actually feel that the amount of fanbois thinking they "love" the characters is an accurate representation of how awesome the character writing is. Bad characters, no one loves. This is why I haven't been easily able to find Army of Two pr0n.

Even though I cannot recall having a crush on a game character ever, I don't think this is too crazy, or at least not crazier than falling in love with a celebrity you will most likely never meet in person, let alone have a relationship with him/her.

When I was about twelve, I had a crush on Yuna from FFX, but that was based purely on physical attraction. I've since grown out of that sort of thing.
Well, unless you count Mario. The way his moustache flows in the breeze gets me all tingly inside.

I always liked Elly from Xenogears and Shion Uzuki from Xenosaga.

-Sylvia (No More Heroes)
-Kokoro (Dead or Alive 4)
-Faith (Mirror's Edge)
-Any female character I make in the character creation menu of any game (except Oblivion)

Oh, and let's not forget that when you obtain the White Boa near the end you find her in one of the rooms actually MAKING THE BED.

Now I think it's very endearing for a woman to have a gentle, motherly side, but Sarah only deviates from that part of herself once (actually pretty spectacularly, to be fair), right before she gets frozen in ice.

In terms of attraction, I have a bit of a thing for Rikku (mainly the FFX-2 version) and April Ryan, and also slightly for Zoey of L4D. In terms of actual love or anything more than 'physical' attraction, then that just gets creepy. Sorry, but it's one thing to think a game character is hot, that's just like thinking there's something attractive about any character from fiction, and I'll be damned if anyone's going to tell me Megan Fox isn't pretty damn good looking in Transformers. However, anything more and it just gets weird...

I was always quite fond of Kerrigan in the original StarCraft... Until she became infected and just became a terribly dull villain instead.

I must say though that I find Nicole from Dead Space oddly appealing. Her VA is just fantastic and the character model itself looks genuinely attractive.

Cortana shouldn't count but... Well, she combines the short-haired babe appearance I enjoy so much with being both a damsel in distress -and- saving your ass herself on occasion. How can't you like her?
