I don't know about "love" exactly, but there's a definite "if that girl were real" quality to a few girls in games...notably Lucca from Chrono Trigger, Antonietta Marie from Oblivion, Garnet/Dagger from FF9, Princess Daisy...

Ashley from Mass Effect. Not only is she hot (for a game character) but she had some of the best voice acting in the game and a deep interesting backstory. No actual love though. (Sex scene )

'Love' is a bit strong/silly to use in the context of game characters. But if we're talking 'crush' in the terms of 'I'd hit that, were they real,' then yeah, guilty as charged. The few characters I've been smitten by are:

Iori Yagami (KOF) - Bondage pants FTW.

Basara Kibukiri (Samurai Shodown) - Does anyone other than me remember this guy? For the sake of my sanity, I hope so.

Anji Mito (Guilty Gear) - First time I'd ever seen a costume that so blatantly played up the beefcake.

I feel its been established that love with a video game character is not really acceptable (yet), so its probably pointless in saying so. But that is my opinion as well.

In terms of characters I've had innocent crushes on/been otherwise attracted to and such:

Alyx from Half Life 2, the Soviet mission briefing girl from Red Alert 2, Cortana in Halo 3 (mild but noticeable feelings), and the Dark Elf bartender from Cheydinhall in Oblivion (Does anyone else remember her?) I got a bit unhealthy with her actually, I guess I just found her beautiful. My character on the 360 (A wood elf) would visit her constantly between quests.
