He shall be named Sephiroth.
I do dig this name a ton. However I don't know if villian names are the best. I do want to reveal the source of this child's name to them one day.
Sephroth is kind of a gay name. I would really, REALLY suggest you go with something that is normal enough so not to garner unwanted attention, but a fitting homage to video games.

My main suggestion would be Marcus, Preston, Sam, or hell, even Dante. Those names are normal enough that they won't make your son look like an idiot, but they have respectable backgrounds, and the fact that you based it on something rather then flipping through a baby book kind of makes it unique, in a good way.

Those are just my suggestions, coming from my favorite games (Gears of War, Splinter Cell, Bad Company, and... well Dante was your idea... I like Dante. Cool name)

My Wife and I will start trying to have children soon and I was wondering. Are there any names related to video games that would work for children's names but would work well enough to be approved by my wife?

Any suggestions would help

Dude, I would much rather have a name that had some sort of meaning or background than my name. My name is fucking Tyler. TYLER.

That's old English for fucking TILEMAKER.

Most people hate their names, REGARDLESS of its origin.
I like how you imply your name has no meaning or background, then you say one possible meaning or background of it.
Excuse me if I wasn't clear. A meaningful background or well, meaning. You really think that it's better to name your child "Tilemaker" than, say, "Kerrigan" or "Dante?"
Pretty much, yeah. Your "Tilemaker" going from a purely background, historical and meangful point of view has a lot more meaning and history then "Kerrigan" which has absolutely nothing or "Dante" which, though it is a real name, when picked because of the video game character has virtually no meaning because the character has no meaning with that name. Honestly you picked two pretty bad examples there.
Oh and as a real name "Kerrigan" means "Black-haired" apparently, while "Dante" means "everlasting" both of which are worse, in terms of direct meaning, as "Tilemaker"
On a separate note, this is just stupid-ass logic. My name is Ryan, which means "Little King" in Irish. I wasn't named after anyone, the name wasn't chosen because it was awesome, that's just my name. Choosing a name by basing it off a video game is no different. I know a ton of "Johns", all of whom were presumably named for different reasons.

"John" doesn't have some deep meaning, or value to any of them. If one of them was named after the Master Chief, who gives a fuck.

If I was named after a video game character Id be pretty damn happy.
It would be a hell of a lot more interesting than my name which is distinctly lacking in origionality.
I even have a friend who was named cindell (sindel mortal kombat) and all my friends though it was awesome.

Bayonetta for a girl, if only for the fact I was just playing it

And maybe a crazy name from Final Fantasy? Yuna? Cloud? Vanille? Squall?

Don't fucking do it. People who do this are literally the worst parents can be without actually being abusive to their children. You will be the lowest common denominator for it and your child will have a shitty childhood unless it's an extremely otherwise common NORMAL name. But regardless naming your child after a video game character is just laughable.
Wow drama queen. Normal names are not that great. I resent the fact my parents named me Steven Smith. Its so plain that it seems they put no effort what so ever into the name.
He's just jealous he doesn't get to reproduce. With something other than his hand of course.
Hahaha WIN!

RIDLEY.

(Ps I have bagsied this name in Australia, there can be only one.)

I am going to nickname the kid meta, and he/she wont know why mwahahaha
This is awesome. I think I'm going to name my firstborn Ridley.

On topic:

If it's a girl; Samus, Naomi, Zelda, Daisy, Glados, Leliana, Morrigan.

If it's a boy; Johnson (more original than John, if you like Halo), Ratchet . . . can't think of anything else that hasn't been done several times in the thread.

Player 1, Player 2, Player 3 ... its so easy to remember. ;)

Or name them after Tekken Characters, they will be thankful everytime they win at something to shout it out like "Yoshimitsu.....WINS!"

Frogger is a nice name too.

This seems like a great plan for getting your child picked on in school. Do you hate your future kids or something?
How is possibly naming my child based on an 80s or 90s video game character going to get them picked on? Most young kids only know the new franchises. On top of that Zelda is a very pretty name and has nothing wrong with it.
If we accept that theory, go with Dragon Valor names, they're normal, but filtered to be great. Gerome and Anita are both wonderful, and probably wont get them beaten up.

It also falls within the 90s. Barely.

There's nothing wrong with normal names, just make sure you choose a good one that isn't overused. Gerome and Anita spring to mind. Great, but they won't draw as much attention or be anywhere near as outlandish as say, Sephiroth.

Garrus.
Or Wrex, then find someone who's last name is Shepard. It will be epic!

I think this is a terrible idea, no offence.

But if you absolutely have to, dont use a name from a fantasy game, your kid will get bullied.

How then I don't know how many abortions I've had. I've whacked off so much, but I never knew I could reproduce with my hands . Oh lord, what have I done?!?!
I know exactly what I did ;)
Its why I do it daily.
