I love alot of game soundtracks, but theres too many examples of good music on this thread already.

Super Smash Bros is a game with a tad over 300 songs and i cant say ive enjoyed any of them, every time me and my family unlock something the almost instant reaction is 'Why would we want that?!'

The Music to the game Forsaken is also free [http://rapidshare.com/files/84762551/Forsaken_Soundtrack.zip], and pretty awesome techno.

Metroid Fusion. I loved all of the music...or maybe Diddy Kong Racing...and the Moon level on Ducktales for the NES.

When I'm working on stuff for school, I listen to the original, pre-angry Muslims OoT Fire Temple music. I don't know why, but it helps me focus on my work.

I've downloaded all of the DMC soundtracks, and Breaking Benjamin's Blow Me Away on Halo 2 got me into the band.

I used to have Amok, and that was a pretty good techno cd, too. Game was ok, I suppose, but the cd wasn't bad.

Now, I did like playing Crazy Taxi, but I only remember it playing two songs. One was an Offspring tune, and the other was Bad Religion. So, not purpose composed music, but enjoyable, nonetheless.

I also remember liking some, if not all, of the music in NFS: Hot Pursuit 2. Decent radio there.

Sometimes it's the only music I'll listen too. Compared to what crap we have now, video game music is pretty much a godsend.

Game music is great. The Title screen in mass effect was enthralling.

Littlebigplanet has to be given the Nobel Prize of video games for its music however. I dare you to play that game and not smile and love the music. The Imusic in the game makes me sad because they will never release it.

Use of sound and sound effects are apart of music technicly though. The wind and footsteps in Fallout 3 make you immersed and depressed. And battlefield bad company had the best sound design as of yet IMO.

That's why it's fun to go listen to older music. Try Lithium on Sirius/XM. Good '90s stuff there. Or go raid the parental music collection. Who knows?

I have every Final Fantasy music album ever made on my mp3 player and computer. I got a few Zelda and halo tracks along with a lot of other assorted stuff from various games but FF is my main fix. I pretty much enjoy instrumental and game music over most of the stuff these days thats pumped out by major bands and what not. Lyrics can make or break a good song that has a great tune and more than often I found myself listening to lyrics that make no sense but ignored it due to the melody.

I have the Mirrors Edge soundtrack on my iPod and I love the Mario Galaxy music. Epic. Try Gusty Garden Galaxy. It will blow you away. Banjo Kazooie music was pretty epic I agree.

Need for Speed 3 is my personal favorite soundtrack in a video game. It fits perfectly with the surreal racing atmosphere.

All the games in the Orange Box have very fitting and atmospheric music which really adds to the game. Fitting the music to the moment really adds drama to the scene. Games that don't do so suffer as a result.

I've got the soundtrack albums for Secret of Mana and Street Fighter 2 on my Ipod. And the them tune to Cannon Fodder. The oldies are the best.

Oh, and "Still Alive", but surely everyone has that?
