Video Game Protagonists You've More or Less Hated

Has anyone ever had that one video game character that you've pretty much loathed with every modicum of your soul...and then been forced to play as that character?

For me, I'd have to say it was...

Jack Marston. Though not necessarily a protagonist, he was definitely a player character. He just seemed to be a bit of a whiner, and didn't have the same dedication that his father had seemed to display. Jack wasn't exactly loathsome, but he just didn't really come off as the kind of person you'd want to travel around as.

Probably done but what the heck. For me, it's Emil from Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World. Freaking whining prick.
Then it would actually be the Master Chief off the top of my head. He's just a...well bland character I found. *shrugs* that's just me though. Now excuse me for a moment... *ducks behind a massive, bullet-heat proof, 360 coverage barrier*

Whiny leads. Not angsty people, I mean people who whine for NO GOOD REASON.

I know these are archtypes, but I can't think of specifics. Most are supporting characters, but occasionly the main guy is infected with the annoyance disease.

Alex Mercer from Prototype. He spent the whole game talking about how he was just an innocent person, and how he really wasen't violent, right after I got done eating and killing thousands of people.

Grumbly voiced, brown haired, cookie cutter protagonists that point out the obvious and do nothing to make them seem likable. (inFAMOUS and Prototype equally guilty of this)

Thats what made him awesome for me.

I hate Soma from Castlevania games for no good reason and Gordon Freeman for ruining whole story because he can never do or say anything besides blasting everything that stands in his way. It just doesnt feel right to me when Alyx hugs you like you are statue.

Kratos. He has the emotional maturity of a 3 year old throwing a temper tantrum that dropped his ice cream cone. I can deal with a shallow brutal character out for revenge but you can be that without being a selfish prick.

I don't know how Square Enix makes so many unlikeable twats into main characters, but they manage.

Non-JRPG: Starkiller from Force Unleashed. Never before have I seen levels of cutscene retardation this massive.

I hate Gordon Freeman, he is not a character he is a floating camera. Master Chief and Marcus Fenix are both infinitely better developed characters offering incredible depth and detailed inner workings compared to Gordon Freeman.

Also Gordon Freeman was made by Valve... ewww.

You know what? How about anybody voiced by Nolan North? I mean, the guy was good as Deadpool in that animated movie, but every time else he is just a pain to listen to. Dark Void, Prince of Persia, Army of Two...Ugh. I'm not saying he's a bad actor, I just hate the characters he portrays. He says he wants to do more roles, but he is pigeon-holed into played smart-assed everymen. Rather unfortunate in my opinion.

Oh, and Kratos. I lost track of how many times he said he wanted his revenge.

sora wasn't that bad,he had a kind of cute charm to him,the guy in KH2 was an arse though
and the protagiansts from ff6 wern't that bad,although im not sure if 16-bit charaters can't be as ambomanly retarded as vann,ugh saying the name makes me feel dirty
