So I recently bought Banjo Tooie on XBLA and as I've been playing it a lot recently I have been thinking back on the days of when it was first released on the N64. I had so much fun when I first owned the game when I was younger but the one thing I remember the most is all the rumors surrounding the game. Rumors such as if you attacked Grunty's tent enough in Witchy World she would come out or that if you attacked the boards on the boarded up ticket booth enough they would break and you could get inside. Those were good times.

Does anyone have any other "video game rumors" they'd like to share from their childhood?

Also on Pokemon, that in Pokemon yellow/blue/red Mew was hiding in the water surrounding the SS Anne

You mean that thing where you were supposed to surf where you couldn't surf, go to a truck, blow it up and mew would emerge?

Pretty much. I spent ages doing whatever method it was to make you have surf before reaching the SS Anne... I was thoroughly dissapoint.

I remember having been told that if you got all 120 Stars in Super Mario 64 then Yoshi would appear on top of the castle and you could ride him around. Also, I think there was some cheat someone told me where you had to do some secret thing on the first level and then you could play as Luigi.

Mario 64 Luigi rumors, there was a billion of 'em. Though Yoshi does appear on the roof of the castle when you get all the stars, but all he does is give you 99 lives. There's also a flight cap up there.

I submit the Mew rumors for most of the Pokémon games.

It would be very possible if MissingNr wasn't the remnants of what Mew was in the games.

I had Mew on Pokémon red/blue/yellow.

He was in the game, I got him from everyone doing the trade cloning trick at school though, where you take the wire out at a certain point and you both got the pokemon.

you can catch him with a glitch if you dont defeat a few trainers and fly to the ghost town you'll find him
