Pistols in the battlefield series. To weak to even bother with.
Whenever I play Bad company 2, the pistols would always save my ass when I used the recon kit. They were at least good enough to keep you alive against other snipers in close range.

Wait, something that definetly should be added to your list: The BB gun from Fallout 3! Piss-poor damage, slow firing speed, and add it to the rareness of BBs.
Wasn't that intended to be a practice gun?. You got a better gun almost as soon as the next combat sequence arrives, and it worked fine against the Radroaches. By that logic you should add the wooden sword from Kingdom Hearts
The BB Gun wasn't all that useless, actually. It made a good "flyswatter" if you had the ammo, as it was fairly light, and with the right perks it made a decent weapon.

[sup]Might be saying this because he killed a behemoth with it...[/sup]

Also, off topic: You have my old avatar! :D

A broom. (I won't mention any specific game)
In most games where you can use a broom as a weapon there is an arsenal of swords and other lethal weapons, but noooo go kill someone with a broom.

I'd go with the 32 and chinese pistol fron F03 first they were basically in the game to be sold not to fight with, the BB gun was actually counted as a silenced weapon and good for taking out a radroach so it didn't alert a larger enemy basically replacing the heavier and mor expensive silenced 10mm energy weapons in new vegas pre patch they were useless about a quarter of a way through the game post patch their now on even footing with guns, flamethrower from dead space crap damage and range and an ammo hog fully upgraded it does ok damage compared to the first weapon without upgrades and still lacks range and goes through ammo like nothing, the pulse rifle start out crap but fully upgraded rules since a hit staggers enemies making kills quick and easy while requiring little ammo. A lot of junk weapons became game breakers with investment or the right tactics.

#3) M4/Shotgun (Hitman Blood money) These guns were useless in hitman because as the title implies your supposed to be a Hitman, not Marcus Fenix. They were non concealable and loud, but my biggest problem with these things is why you would want them, the pistol could be upgraded with magnum rounds, extended clips, and there was also an upgrade to make it automatic, making it a concealable silent M4. Same problems for the shotgun

#4) Poison stab (Assassins Creed 2) This had no purpose for anything other than giggles (or ad least i could not find one) it made enemies take out there swords and start waving them around.

Anyways thats what i could think of. What about you?
Well the shotgun was a laugh to use :). And what comes to the poison things they are also a laugh. I did/do many of the assassinations with it because it is very discrete. Although I still wonder how people DON'T feel the poison spike in their body.

Personally all I can think of is the scottish resistance in TF2. Useless compared to the original spike bombs. Or I just didn't get it but still in my opinion that.

In Worms, prod. Although it was so bad that it was delicious to get a kill with it.

By the time you find it in the game, I found the Mag-Net Launcher in Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time to be quite useless. By then you already have the Groovitron Glove and the Cryomine Glove, both of which are far more effective at keeping enemies distracted/at bay than the Mag-Net Launcher. So why bother bringing it back from Tools of Destruction? I never used the damn thing after I finished leveling it up.

Also the Volcanic Pistol in Red Dead Redemption. Man I hate that damn thing. Such a low firing rate, and it always feels so weak. Add to it that for some reason, every time you enter multiplayer, it selects the Volcanic Pistol as your selected pistol even if you have better weapons like the High Power Pistol or Mauser Pistol, and I would like to toss that piece of crap back into the volcano it crawled out of.

And an honorable mention to every weapon in ModNation Racers, although it's because the AI cheats and blocks even instant weapons like the sideswipe and level 1 bolt, not because the weapons are bad. If the AI played fairly once in a while, they would actually be pretty good.
haha you can block to you know? and they can't block high level weapons which are easy to get

Bad Company 2's starting kits in the multiplayer kits were absolutely shit compared to what most of your enemies already used. Except the Recon's M40, that's still my favourite sniper rifle in that game.

Gee what else is there...most of the weapons I wanted to name have already been named. Can't think of anything.

anything found in the toy store in Dead Rising
I wouldn't say the toy helicopter-machete combo is useless. Slicey death that is.

The Gravity Gun.

I'll take a bullet fired at the speed of sound over that, thank you.
True, but I liked it as a sort of mobile shield, especially in Nova Prospekt. Just pick up a heater or something similar and voila; instant protection.

It's funny that in AC2/B the broom isn't an awful lot less powerful than any other blunt weapon. It's rather easy (and oh so satisfying) to go on a killing spree with it.

Actually, I beg to differ. The Mag-Net Launcher was a powerhouse. It only took 1 shot to kill almost all standard enemies. Ok, it has kinda low ammo and can only hit 1 opponent at a time, but when upgraded somewhat, it really had some kick to it.
I love the Groovitron Glove, mostly because I can just distract tonnes of foes and them bombard them with the bomb-glove-thing (forgot the name, but it upgraded to throwing mini-nukes)

OT: I'd say that any parody weapons from various games aren't worth the effort, but more to date, I'd have to say flamethrowers. Oh sure, they're good for cooking with (and not just a lovely meal), but they eat through ammo in any game, not to mention the terrible range and damage-dealing, despite setting the foe on fire. But to counter-balance that arguement, the Incinerator (a type of FT that shoots balls of napalm rather than just blows fire) from Fallout 3/NV are pretty nifty, assuming you can hit your target.

Grenades in Mass Effect.

There's a reason they were removed in the sequel.
Grenades in Mass Effect were awesome. They rarely killed enemies outright, but they often reduced their health enough that I could easily kill them with my Assault Rifle after a few short bursts. And they looked cool.

EDIT: Oh, right. OT.

Erm... Pistols in Mass Effect seem to be OK weapons on their own, but there is no reason to take them instead of Assault Rifles. Play through on easy as Soldier, get the ability to take an Assault Rifle as any class at all, you never need any weapon again bar maybe the Sniper Rifle for long-range kills.

Also, the rocket launcher in Lost Planet doesn't do crap against any Akrid that can move at any reasonable speed.

Not really a weapon but...Darwin's Danger Shield from TF2. It gives the Sniper 25 extra health...which is great except that Snipers are supposed to be far away from the action so having a tiny bit extra health means bugger all. Especially since the thing that kills Snipers most often are other Snipers and Spies, both of which will still instant kill even with the extra health.

25 extra health on a Medic, now that would be useful.

Half of the Melee weapons in Left 4 Dead 2... why would you take a Frying Pan or a Police Baton when you can have a Katana?
O the comedy of killing a special infected with a frying pan! particularly hilarious in Verus Modes XD

your knife in Metro 2033 or the knife in general prior to the one hit kill trend. that or your own fists in any First Person Shooter that lets you use your fists.

How about the wrench in BioShock? Did anyone use it after they got the pistol? And the drill in BioShock 2? That thing used up fuel so fast the rail gun was a better weapon and it could barely kill the thug splicers.
You did play Bioshock, right?
The guns were terrible, I killed everything with my wrench.
I had me some serious love for the wrench, I always bought the tonics to max it's effectiveness, and I had a blast with it...

Oh yes. Ratchet and Clank 3 Multiplayer, the ultimate humilation. I just wish they'd have made the rainbow afro-nator an actual weapon.
