I like repeating myself.

There are three moments in which games have stirred emotion with me. Two of them in Metro 2033. One in Mass Effect 2.

Artyom finding the kid. Every bit of the scene, beginning with Artyom shouldering his way through the door, weapon at the ready--all the way to the climb towards the sky. The moment was powerful and well executed, using an impressive mix of music, camera positioning and voice over from the kid. Artyom's silent nods and the careful glances around the room at the beginning only added more weight.

The ending sequence. Artyom sitting down. I could almost feel all the strength going out of his knees as exhaustion was finally allowed to take its toll.

My female Shepard squeezing herself past the Krogans for a reunion with Wrex. Simple, but effective.

Definitely Guns of the Patriots, Act four onward was chocked full of so much nostalgic win. I must have been grinning ear to ear right up until those last moments with you know who. Without a doubt, MGS4 was probably the best movie I've seen all year long, haha

Metal Gear Solid, especially Snake Eater.

I SALUTED THE BOSS' GRAVE, DID YOU!?

But honestly, Metal Gear Solid is my beloved series. No other series has made me feel the range of emotions Metal Gear has.

The first time I played through Fable 2 when that bandit guy kicks your dog I got really angry and unleashed a can of whup-ass on him. I backed him into a corner and just wailed on him till he died, didn't even give him a chance to attack. Then I realized the dog was fine, I wasted a perfectly good can of whup-ass on that stupid bandit.

Ending To Fallout 3 and Silent Hill 2.

Also I'm currently playing mass Effect 2 and have become quite attched to some of characters so I will probably run into one of these moments while playing that.

I cannot really say that any video game I have played has ever tugged hard enough on the ol' heartstrings to make me sad or emotional, that being said, I know a lot of movies that have evoked such a response. What I did notice about this thread was the use of the phrase "sucked me in like a thousand-dollar whore", ha ha. What episode of Zero Punctuation is that from anyway?

I think Shadow of the Colossus is the only game to ever elicit an emotion response besides frustration and glee from gameplay rather than story. From the grand landscapes and epic feel of the gameplay, to the events of the story, it remains one of my most enjoyed games of all time.

I have connected emotionally with games but not really I mean when I replayed Terranigma and got out into the first overworld map and heard that song that I like a lot I got an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia but other than that not really which is kinda weird cause I really love games.

Bioshock 1, the 'grand reveal' scene and the death of Andrew Ryan.

TES 4: Oblivion, when Martin is giving the speech to the troops at Bruma.

KOTOR 2: TSL, when you meet the Jedi Masters at Dantooine.

Halo 3, when Miranda died, the Arbiter killed Truth, and you find Cortana.

Fallout 3, when your father dies and then you die.

Fable 2, your sister and dog gets killed.

Mass Effect 1, where you convice Saren to kill himself.

Mass Effect 2, when you walk out to the bridge in the beginning and see a giant hole in the Normandy and when you die.

Dragon Age: Origins, the end where someone has to die.

Gears of War 2: Dom and Maria, the Tai bit sickened me to the point where I almost threw up so I looked up Carmine and Maria on YouTube, Maria's scene made me cry.

Mass Effect 2: I wouldn't call this a spoiler because sometimes it's part of the story and sometimes it isn't, but when I got Legion, Garrus, Thane and Mordin killed I just got terribly upset (didn't cry though) because I did every loyalty mission and I just got to know and love them so well over my twenty hours.

Damn, Half-Life 2: Episode 2 has already been mentioned. Oh well, I suppose there isn't any harm in mentioning it again, because it really was unbelievably brutal, and the number one reason Valve continue to piss me off by not releasing Episode 3 yet (as well as finding out what happened to Barney :p).

Spoilers here..

In my first playthrough of KoTOR, I played darkside, and I had Zaalbar kill Mission. I was like frozen in my seat for a minute. I had gotten to a point in the conversation tree where there was no peaceful option, and I hadn't saved in an hour so I couldn't go back.
