I've said it before and I'll say it again: Spyro the Dragon. Pure platforming perfection...
Dialogue.

SHUTDOWN!!
Are you kidding? Clancy freaking Brown telling you to "Be on the lookout for Gnorc Commandos" and then Carlos Alazraqui (Spyro) is all like "They better be on the lookout for me". The dialogue may not be a big part of the game, but what is in it is absolutely brilliant!
(in tiny kid voice)"What about Gnasty Gnorc? I wanna go after him!"

Cryostasis. Any criticism about the game's simple nature when it comes to the basics of first person shooting is overridden by the completely perfect atmosphere and the use of storytelling and mystery as gameplay mechanics.

and up till an hour ago, i would of said red dead redemption, but i found something i didn't like about the game, the ending.

The closest to perfect, in my opinion, is without a doubt the original Lemmings. Some levels were so hard that I'd spend hours at work drawing diagrams trying to figure out how to finish them.

Next would be Civ 1 prior to finding out about the "Mongol Horde" strategy, which of course ruins the game (though having mechanized infantry in 50 BC is kinda cool).

My only criticism of tetris is that 15 years after I quit playing the game, I *still* have carpal-tunnel issues.

That was what Spyro said to the very first dragon he saved, right? Well see, it shows that he has a go-getter personality and is ready to take on any challenge; it builds up his character so you can better understand him.

By the way, I'm sorry to inform you that your "trying to prove that Spyro has bad dialogue" venture will be a fruitless one. I'm afraid I'm much too nostalgitized (yes, I've officially made that a word as of right now) for any of your arguments, no matter how well-constructed, to land. Just so you know.

*snip*(I know I couldn't think of one without pointing out a flaw, but come on. There has to be one person who believes a certain game is a platinum statue made out of chocolate.)
Contradiction! How can you have a platinum statue made of chocolate? Covered in chocolate I can see.
OT: I can't think of any game that I can't criticize.
How can you have a platinum statue made of chocolate? I don't know. BUT SOMEONE DOES.

I've seen a lot of mention of Tetris, and I concede that it is beyond criticism, but that probably owes to the lack of depth, rather than brilliant game design.

I also saw Heroes of Might and Magic 3, which I'm inclined to agree with also, that was a brilliant game that was only limited by your own playing style.

I'm going to add Banjo Kazooie to the list. It had charm, visual aesthetic, a good soundtrack, varied gameplay, a proper difficulty curve and my 2 favorite game heroes of all time. I've thought about this before and I can't find a fault in the game... 100% completion isn't required, but theres benefits to completing more and more of the game (unlocking red honeycomb, extra feathers/eggs etc.). Exploration of the overworld isn't required but its helpful (finding teleport cauldrons, cheato books etc)...

Fuck all this talk, I'm going to go play it again.

No such thing.

I think Portal is the only game that I can think of only one criticism for, and that is "It's too short."

Portal never made me want to finish, I only got to about halfway through the game before I quit, and I can't really say I've been drawn back to it either.

If I had to pick one, I'd likely go with Steambot Chronicles. One of the best games I've ever played, and seemingly unheard of on this forum.

wow obviously the guy who picked the first assasins creed didnt hear that hell is repetition hell is repetition hell is repetition hell is repetition. while the game was fun it was too easy to win fights, and had a lot of really long and boring cutscenes,in addition to repeating the same side missions over and over.if the second one wasnt better for you then im shocked. i do give you props for being one of the first people to pick something thats not made by bethesda or valve.

My only complaint with M&B Warband is when you are in a faction as a vassal during peace. It sucks being a warrior during peacetime, especially when you get bickered at for defeating the former enemy king (who is no longer an enemy) in a battle post-ceasefire. I am justified because the ass was looting one of my villages. No other complaints, so it passes outside that 1 situation.
My only complaint with Sonic 1 is Labyrinth Zone. Sonic 2 has the BS placement of enemies in Metropolis Zone, 3 has the Red Drum of Death (many people likely know what I am talking about), S&K, had a few annoying boss fights.
Streets of Rage has the 2 jumpy bitches (level 5 boss, I think). Golden Axe has the BS skeletons and AI that can stun lock you to death.

I love a lot of games but I think I will always find something to criticize.

Even Mother 3, in which case I have to say I think the game was rather short.... if you consider that a real criticism. If not then well.. maybe it is a practically perfect game.
