Eternal Darkness, at least with respect to some of the lead characters. When a game is somewhat heavy on narration and characters vocalizing what they feel (like, say, while going insane) it tends to help a lot when the voices can actually convey that. Edward Roivas, the narrator (and one of the playable characters), is probably the best example the game offers.
In some games though it's not always how high quality the voice acting is but that the voice fits the character and their style/attitude/etc. It also helps to have some sense of humor and self-parody if it doesn't horrible conflict with the game's atmosphere. The original Starcraft is probably a good example of both.
"Awaken my child, and embrace the glory that is your birthright. Know that I am the Overmind; the eternal will of the Swarm, and that you have been created to serve me."
The Zerg Overmind, a bit heavy on the distortion but exceptionally memorable.

Some serious, some action-related, some jokes, some references. Lots of fun.
