Wow... Good job Maet. What you just pieced together could potentially be used as a plot device for Bioshock 2 (that is, should Andrew Ryan return as a central figure). In another time and place, I might have told you that you have WAAAAAAAAAAY too much time on your hands :)

About the Sander Cohen bit. I killed him after I completed his masterpiece. When I got to his apartment, I killed the two dancing splicers. Cohen didn't go back from the grave though.

Incredible, just incredible.
These thoughts had definitely crossed my mind before, but I had never delved into their workings with such depth.

great work you might be right!

or... a loosely written storyline with a deus ex shooter element. so loosely written it's easy to allow analysis to make several assumptions. aka "the george lucas effect"

I'm not really disagreeing though, i'm more hopeful that your observations are right or close and that the sequel will be just as awesomely art deco and Ayn Randian.

Ah crap... Now I have to write more (I honestly didn't expect this to be so well received, so thanks for all the support).

For my next chunk, I think I will examine just what the hell ADAM is anyway. I've beaten the game four times, and I'm honestly not even too sure what to make of it yet.

They say it somewhere in the game. I forgot who says it but they consider it raw stem cells. My guess is the plasmids put stem cells into Jack's body and that gives him a limited amount of power. The more he uses the power, the more stem cells leave the body or are destroyed. The ADAM duplicates the other stem cells. (I may be explaining EVE) Atlas also states something along the lines of, "ADAM became the cure for wounds. It even allowed someone with cancer to survive." (and then something that sounds like,) "The ADAM went from being a medicine to a necessity for survival."
This may also explain that the plasmids eat up the stem cells and to keep the body alive, the ADAM supplies enough for the body to operate.

By the way, I thought this was amazing how you pieced together the information. As soon as Bioshock 2 has been out for however long, I'll come to you for answers. =)

Hehe, those would indeed be nice excuses for some of the games decisions (especially the low number of splicer models), a very nice read indeed anyway. However, isn't Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams going to be a prequel, and not a sequel?
Actually, www.somethinginthesea.com has all of the dates posted in '63 and onward, with the original Bioshock occurring in the year of 1960. Plus, the GameInformer articles have stated that it will be occurring after Jack came and left from Rapture. I think there's also a press-release on Bioshock 2 about it being a sequel, as well.

You should explain just how the Big Daddies were made. They touched lightly on it in the audiotapes, but not much more than 'this model is much more efficient' kinda talk (as far as I remember... I gotta get the 'Brass Balls' achievement)
