What I miss that isn't sold in this part of the US are Tastykakes and Mallomars.

Nobody bakes a cake as tasty as a Tastykake! These people just don't understand. Right now, I could go to Wegmans and grab some Turkey Hill ice cream. Or drive 10 minutes to Hershey, go into Sheetz, and buy some Tastykakes. That's living!

I love Kinder chocolate. I know some places get Cadburys but I don't know if that's a state exclusive sort of thing.
Poor suckers don't seem to get Galaxy though.

Hershey's is just... painted brown chalk. It's vile. I know they have SOME nice chocolate over there, but when I've bought chocolate things from Candy Hero in Leeds, it tastes like our cooking chocolate.

On a lighter note, I found a mini Coffee Crisp bar (the Halloween pack size) on my bed earlier this week. No one put it there and I didn't have any left. No idea how it got there. It was the highlight of my week without a doubt.

As an American, I can assure you that is a complete fabrication. We are allowed to buy our 25 grams per week chocorat from any source we can afford. Due to completely necessary wage reductions to help battle inflation though, we can't afford much beyond the state approved brands that are the only suppliers big hearted enough to keep their prices low (even if it does mean replacing much of the actual chocolate in the candy with high glucose corn syrup and cardboard).

I can't speak for all of America, but in Wisconsin, you can get bagged milk at the Gas station. Jugs are just so much more convenient though. Resealable and all that.

I can't speak to the exclusivity of it, but I do know that while we do get creme eggs, they're smaller here. And that's sad. Also, I miss the goo, the frosting filling just isn't the same.

My local Tesco has a "world food" section- primariy for the Eastern Europeans- but also contains a myriad selection of overpriced US foodstuffs. Including... wassitcalled... Herseys. That is nice chocolate. Just.

As someone from the UK, I don't know the cultural significance of Hersheys. I've had Hersheys chocolate a grand total of two times and frankly it was not very nice. Is it prolific in the way that Cadburys is here? Can you get Cadburys over there?

More importantly do you see Green & Blacks (or similar brands) in almost every shop?

Also, Smarties are way nicer than plain M&Ms IMO, but I love me some peanut M&Ms. Most of the products talked about in the thread (Smarties (UK), Aero, Coffee Crisp etc) are Nestle products which is interesting, such a big multinational having such specific products per country.

In the US....our smarties are your rockets and our M&Ms are your smarties though there might be a size difference in both cases. Ours are smaller. As far as Aero and Coffee Crisp....they sound great and I'm now disappointed we have a hard time finding them here. Kinder surprise eggs are banned because the tiny toys contained within them are a choking hazard.

There's a conspiracy theory about how New coke was brought out specifically to hide the transition from sugar to corn syrup in the states. What we have now, mostly from Pepsi products, are "Throwback" versions which are made with sugar. I think Dr. Pepper started this. I'd forgotten how much better soda tastes when made with sugar. However, I mostly drink diet ones so anything with a natural sweet flavor tastes good.

Can you get Cadburys over there?

Very few Cadbury products are offered year round. We normally only see it around Easter. I hope this will change as I believe Cadbury is now owned by an American company. I ate the hell out of Cadbury when I was a child. My father was Air Force so we spent 6 years in the UK. I miss Cornettos the most.

The worst is that our American cousins don't have Galaxy chocolate, IMO the best milk chocolate bar none. Hershey's chocolate is quite horrid, tasting mostly of whatever additives and preservatives they use, second only to Australian chocolate for how awful it is. Cadbury's bars taste much nicer by far, and Galaxy even more so.

It's true, you can taste the difference between them. America has so much corn that corn syrup is cheaper than sugar, but there is a definite difference in the taste between american coca cola and that made with sugar elsewhere.
