I'd like to also say FFX-2. Not so much that it got a sequel, but that it was FFX, of all the series, that got a sequel. Yes, only a very few of the FF games have much room for a direct sequel. Yes, I think there were/are other games that could make a better sequel. Moreso if it's a sequel that keeps the battle mechanics, as well as the dignity of the characters, more or less intact. Damn near everybody has mocked the garb system of FFX-2, some referring to this game as "pretty princess dress-up".
And I use the word "dignity" in the loosest sense possible. Rikku wore ridiculous hot-pants and bared a bit of midriff in FFX. Not what one might call "sensible" but not too terrible.
In FFX-2, her attire has shrunk to what appears to be a two-piece string bikini, the kind where the bottom piece has straps that arch over the hips, a style that is best pulled off by the likes of Pamela Anderson. The bottom, I can safely assume a thong or at least cut very narrow, is covered by a mini-skirt. Technically it's a micro-skirt, the kind that covers the crotch only just, but it's riding so damn low I'm amazed we're not seeing her pubes.
I suspect the only reason for the sleeves on her arms (not connected to anything, and without any means to hold them up on her arms) is because of the straaaaange tastes in clothing the Square-Enix has for the Final Fantasy characters.
Annnnd then we have Paine the dominatrix; standard ridiculous Final Fantasy clothing. Then there's Yuna. Sweet, altruistic, flawless Yuna. She wore lovely ceremonial robes that suited her well, I thought, in FFX. FFX-2, however, she has slipped into hotter hot-pants than Rikku in FFX, baring her almost her entire back and cleavage down to below the ribs.
..... I think I made a point somewhere in there. I haven't the slightest clue where, and I wish you luck finding it.
