The biggest hero which is also a dick?
Me, in every single game I play where I have the option to do so.

Cole mercer in infamous. I mean, i have understanding for the fact that the developers were trying to give the impression that "he does what he has to do" and in the beginning a lot of "Red" decisions are a bit ambigous (taking food for your friends and safeguard against starvation viz a viz giving it all away) but when his powers start snowballing, and he has the power to power entire city parts by himself, he could have been a hell of a lot of more sympathetic och at least have some cause for being a dick, like trying to rule people.

Now he just gives of a kind of, Mwuahahaha i am evil.
You mean Cole McGrath. Cole Mercer is what happens when Alex Mercer from Prototype and Cole do the fusion dance from DBZ.

let's call it square and refer to him as Mcmercer. Now at a local mcdonalds close to you(free blacklikght virus forcible added to every order)
As long as I can get one a large coke, I won't complain.

I feel as though there are too many games here, and not enough stuff from other mediums. So I'll do ones from movies.

Ariel(Little Mermaid): literally the entire plot of this film is about how much she screws everything up because she isn't happy with what she has. Seriously, listen to "part of your world" and tell me I'm wrong.

Luke Skywalker: has no issues wasting storm troopers left and right, but when he has an easy opportunity to kill the emperor, striking a blow to the heart of the empire, shortening the war, and saving lives, he cranks up the angst to 11 and refuses to strike down evil incarnate.

Indiana Jones: Not so much of a dick, as he was a guy with no reason for being there in raiders of the lost ark. Think: what if everything went exactly as the Nazis planned? They would have opened the ark just like they did in the film, and this would happen:

isn't this true for every GTA Protagonist?
Outside of the GTA IV era: Yes. But they where still likeable somehow, or where ment to be emotionless so you could pretend to be them. In the GTA IV era both Niko and Johnny show care for their friends (especially Niko). Luis acts like a though nut and never gets out of that role.

Nico Bellic. Seriously.

'I need more maaaahney! I'll do anything for maaahney, just enough to leev peacefully!'

Fuck off Nico, you made five hundred million dollars gambling on a horse race. If you really wanted to quit you would have quit BEFORE

[spoiler: Just in case anyone hasn't played this 6 year old game I guess?] your cousin/paramour died at the hands of an insane Russian ganger. [/spoiler]

Kids, this is why you don't make a linear narrative in which the main thrust is the protagonist's quest for cash, and at the same time involve currency as a gameplay mechanic. Every player will end the game with fat stacks of cheddar, and yet their hero will still be whining about how poor he is and make shitty choices based on his perceived poverty.

Yes, unfortunately the topping is sugar free.

Well I don't go so much by "evil" as I go by "They attacked me and refuse to stop until I impale them somehow"

If an enemy doesn't aggro I generally leave it alone. If that stupid thief insists on going 'your money or your life' well then he was the one who decided that would be a brilliant idea.
The good old reactive way. Well many games work like that they put you in a situation and obviously there are certain ways you can act. And in some it will be the only one that keeps you alive.

Though I guess with some tricks one would hide and walk off later but..seriously who does that?
