Seriously Gearbox? You decided to give up everything about Brothers in Arms, keep the name, and make it Borderlands in WW2? I was wanting to continue the adventures of Baker and his squad, and instead I get this?

Well guys, what are your thoughts on this, er, change in direction for the series?

Wow, I was never really that into Brothers in Arms, but this looks fucking stupid. Branding a dead guy's forehead with the state of Texas? Seriously?

Yeah, there's changing things up and then there's fucking stupidity. This is fucking stupidity.

I have a feeling they're just making fun of Inglorious Bastards.

Because everyone knows that "Tactics are like, way hard bro, where's my overshield and giant laser gun?" is a way more common phrase than it should be ('should be' being Zero frickin' times)
I really liked Brothers in Arms, but its apparently taking the way of becoming cover shooter mcblandy brown # 14 Bajillionth...

Best thing that even happened to the franchise.... /jk

Seriously?! I loved the first two games (haven't played Hell's Highsway), and whilst I reckon this game will be a laugh (perhaps even a good game in it's own right) it is a rather...large change in direction for the franchise.

Wow, talk about a radical new direction to take a series. I think I would want to play this game if it didn't use the Brother in Arms moniker. As a stand-alone, I'd be cool with the Inglorious Basterds meets Borderlands style and would look forward to some co-op hijinks on the PS3 with my buddy.

So Gearbox really liked Inglorious Basterds (That's how it's spelled). This looks kind of shitty.

I found it very odd, considering the series has always stressed realism, and now it seems kind of stupid, but I am sure many people will still buy it. ( Not me though, just seems too stupid.)

I wouldn't be surprised if they were, with the serious FPS games flooding the market at this point we're long overdue for sillyness and lulz in the FPS genre. That said, the trailer looks just plain bad.
Yeah, but Brothers in Arms has always been a game that had to be serious. It's just much more real than any other FPS out there. The action isn't over the top and the characters aren't these ridiculous supermen who cry bullets and shit grenades. Not to say they can't have jokes as easter eggs, like sheep squad, which made me laugh my ass off.

Yeah, your game kinda lacks seriousness when you're shooting people with exploding arrows Rambo style.

I don't quite understand this change in direction. Normally if you make a series of games you keep a certain tone throughout so people associate those characteristics with the brand of said series. But if you compeltely change what the series stood for previously you alienate the original fans.

I didn't think the old games were spectacular but I was curiosu to see if they could handle the battle of the bulge but instead we get this. Oh well not on the "To buy" list

They're trying to make it funny in an edgy 'Inglorious Basterds' sort of way. And as you can see they're failing spectacularly.

As a long time Brothers in Arms fan, I'm pissed as hell. I mean, there's mixing up the conventions of a game series, then there's throwing the whole thing in front of a bus and trying to convince us that the Magical Adventures of Captain Sparklepants in Rainbowland is the same thing as the Shawsank Redemption, and this falls firmly into that last category. Especially when I consider that Brothers in Arms was pretty much the only WWII shooter that could actually qualify as realistic and not just "realistic." (Well okay, not the only one, but one of the only ones).

it looks like i wont be welcome here it seems to me people are just angry that it isnt just another ww2 game
And another person has completely missed the point. We're not upset they're not making another serious World War II game. We're upset that they've taken a series that has been established as a historically accurate melodrama with intelligent, tactical gameplay and turned it into Duke Nukem WWII Edition. I could be fun in it's own right, but they killed an IP to do it and basically betrayed the game's small but rather dedicated following. Not cool.

I have very fond memories of this series from years ago on the PS2. But this too me is such a massive disappointment. It just makes me feel bad for Gearbox every time I think about the trailer, and how different the game now looks...
