I loved Prototype. Everyone hated it, but I liked it, Why? Where else could you lift taxis and power through buildings?

The 2 game series i have a problem with is HALO.. and the COD series pretty much as soon as it hit the 360 and such.. First problem with HALO is that its insanely over hyped... Its a mediocre shooter at best.. Think about it.. The single player is horrible.. You have infinite health just hide for a few seconds all you get back to normal.. Weapons arent that great.. Arent that many options.. The fighting gets dull very fast... Now the reason i think it was hyped so badly is because it was one of the firsts decent shooters to come out on the XBOX and the current generation for the XBOX thought it was the best ever because they didn't know any better..

Now onto COD.. i gotta say i like COD2 and COD3 better than halo on the Original Xbox.. There just so much more fun.. It might be because the online community isn't a bunch of l33t 9 year old kids.. But really it has even less options than Halo.. Altho its 1 player mode is much better than halo.. Anyway the WAW and MW and MW2 games just got the message all wrong.. COD games in my opinion are supposed to be FIRST and foremost fun 1 player games.. Then a great Multiplayer.. WAW and the MWs series emphasised on the multiplayer sure it can be fun but it gets old fast.. And again largely due to the horrible community.. I like to think of these games as the FF7's of 2009.. Because FF7 was much worse than FF6 And yet got a huuuuuuuge following... Because it was a decent RPG with some nice graphics for the time.. And still has a following to this day.. Hell i think FF9 is at least 1.5x better than FF7 could ever hope to be.. And doesnt have near the following.. FF6 is atleast 5X better in my opinion its the best FF..
Dude I almost totally agree with you, The Halo series is not that great of an FPS series and is always over-hyped. I did enjoy the first two but the third was really disappointing. I think the first one was the best. I have felt that the best part of Halo was always the music, but that is just my opinion.

On the COD series I loved the first few and I even loved MW but I did think that it was over-rated. MW2 I was extremely disappointed in. I really think that they focus too much on multiplayer when multiplayer should always be the bonus not the primary play(unless it is only a multiplayer) but you stated my point.

Also a game that I really enjoyed and many hated was Kane and Lynch.

Are you serious about the lack of weapons in halo. I always thought that for a shooter it had the best assortment. Its my main resaons for prefering halo online to COD. It has a gun that shoots pink shards of whatever that blow up if you land enough of them. Where else can you find pink bullets and glowing blue plasma grenades?
True, but you just pointed out a few of the only unique weapons that halo has. Other than that everything is pretty much standard sniper, assault/battle rifle fare. And glowing nades? yah that makes them special, since you can stick people with nades that leave a red glow-trail behind them in CoD6. Halos still fun but i'm just saying i don't think anyone should be saying that is has a great assortment of weapons, especially when compared to CoD6 or Borderlands.

I'm going to get a lot of hate for this, but Sonic 06.
I'm with you on this one. Good to see I'm not the only one who liked it.

Other than that, Assassin's Creed and Mirror's Edge are the two main ones that come to mind.

I dug both Mirror's Edge, and Wet.

I really think I'm the only person I know who liked Wet.

This is why you shouldn't believe the internet on anything.

Seriously we're all liars, or maybe we aren't. Who knows, I could be lying.

Just sayin'.

Anyway, similarly, I got the 1st Assassin's Creed this Christmas and frankly I'm finding it brilliant. Most blockbuster games are now high enough quality that %50 of the deal is circumstantial subjectivity.

That's pretty much what it is. The games are so average that they appear to be amazing and some people took it as how shooters are supposed to be and thats how we got to where we are today.

It's because one person, generally a reviewer, finds something that they alone dislike. People thne follow and repeat the reviewer's opinion as their own because they can't think for themselves.

Ding ding ding we have a winner.

I personally really enjoyed Killzone 2. Lots. Even though many say it is a bad game.

I've been thinking about Assassin's Creed after playing and enjoying its sequel. I played through the first AC once, tried to play it again, and found myself hating the start. I found that I have one big qualm with Assassin's Creed's own Altair; he's a fucking asshat. Sure, he becomes alright a third of the way into the game, but due to his asshattery at the start of the game - killing the innocent, FUBARing his team's mission, and his arrogance - he gets stripped of all equipment and rank. This would be fine if he was an NPC, but you're taking that away from me! I wasn't the douchebag... so why do I get punished for it?

All I'm saying is I would have preferred a steady rise to power, rather than a complete removal and eventual regain of it. Just my two cents.

Who ever said that was probaly on crack when they did it.

Anyways, I thought Saints Row 2 was miles better than the boring piece of crap GTA 4 IMO.
Oh and...I love The Darkness and Lost Odyssey. It's not so much that people don't like them, It's more the fact that nobody's heard of them or considered them. Both games almost made me cry on numerous occasions, and are amazing.

Exactly. I spent a blissful hour destroying every fire escape I could find, eating random people, and then plowing down the road carrying a car while disguised as someone's grandma.

The only thing that would have improved that was if there were ambulances you could lift instead.

Megaman 5. Everybody says it's such a terrible excuse for a Megaman NES game, but I've found it to be my favorite on the system. It may have something to do with it being my first videogame, well, ever, and that a lot of people started on 2 so Nostalgia kicks in for them there.

If you have just started playing Assassin's Creed (as in like the first 3 or 4 kills) it is still good. The game just get repetitive pretty soon after that.

I think some people (particularly the fans who'd played the previous games) didn't like how fallout3 didn't stay true to the original, or the second game. I didn't play Fallout1 until after fallout3. I preferred fallout3 cuz I like FPS.

I don't know, I mean there was more variety in the weapons than a lot of games, particularly the difference between plasma weapons and sluggers, it added a bit more tactical depth; shame everyone either uses the battle rifle or the assault rifle.

Anyway, for some reason a lot of people that I know hated Resistance, I actually immensely enjoyed it for it's unique weapons, variety of enemies (something you sadly don't get in games any more) and that it played more like an older fps.
