As Carmen went back, she'd see someone who, at a first glance, would pass for a fairly tall human woman with brown skin and oddly white hair, were it not for the large set of long, tufted ears sitting atop their head. The person wore a white robe and tall-heeled boots, which along with the ears gave them a silhouette of being roughly 7 and a half feet tall.
"Escape? There is something threatening you? That might be a matter of far more grave importance than what I felt to ask."

Ness blinked a bit as Fire before sighing. [color=666666] "The little girl's right though. You should try not to swear, it's not very polite." Though in here, politeness may not matter as much as it should... [/color]
She nodded to Shi, once, smiling a small bit. [color=666666] "Nice to meet you, Shiryoku." [/color] She took a small sip of her water before looking back to the little ninja. [color=666666] "Um... this place might be a little dangerous for someone your size..." [/color] She said looking to both her and Fire. [color=666666] "Do you guys have parents or something to that effect? I should let them know you guys have run off." [/color]

As Carmen looked up due to the silhouette and noticed the large ears on the woman's head, she blinked once in slight astonishment before looking back down to the woman's face. [color=bb0066] "Not so much threatening as it's just...." [/color] She gritted her teeth a bit for effect. [color=bb0066] "...annoying..." [/color] She said in a small growl before sighing and trying to perk herself up. [color=bb0066] "So I'm guessing you're a new entrant here? I'd remember seeing someone like you around here or in the arena fights..." [/color]

Ness sighed. [color=666666] "Sure, you both say that now... but we'll see if you end up changing your mind if you end up having to fight someone in the arena here." [/color] She said to the duo. Looking to Fire, she shook her head. [color=666666] "Because what those words mean are horrible things. You're calling people equivalent to cow dung or saying other nasty things about them when you use those words. At such a young age, you shouldn't hate anything enough to be saying things like that, so please don't do it any longer. Some people may get angry and try to hurt you... even if you're just a kid." "Ah, so no cause for alarm then. ...Though I can understand the sentiment." The woman replied to Carmen empathetically. "And fairly new, yes, I suppose. I have yet to make any sort of debut, as it were. You may call me Lapis." She gave Carmen a short bow. Her ears twitched for a moment as she stood back up. "Oh but I'm forgetting something. Have you seen a Bangaa anywhere recently?"

It's definitely not a sign of being polite to just blurt them out carelessly like you were just now." I'm acting like a mom even thought I don't even know where his parents are... [/color] She shook herself out of her thought process and sighed at Fire once more. [/color] She tilted her head a bit, silently fighting the urge to try and stroke Lapis' large, fluffy looking ears. [color=bb0066] "A 'Bangaa'? Would it be a creature that looks a bit like you or something else?" [/color]

"We shall see if that might happen any time soon. I am not much of a personal fighter, you see." Lapis replied to Carmen. She shook her head as she said, "Oh no not by any means. Bangaa are rather large creatures. I believe the one I'm looking for is about..." She held her hand up in the air, about a half-foot above her ears. "So tall. He'd be covered in sandy scales, and more than likely wearing that green outfit he always does."
Ness blinked blankly once more, taking on a confused but somewhat curious expression. [color=666666] "We... don't, I'm afraid..." [/color]

Lapis brought a hand up to her chin and held it there in though as she listened to Carmen, her gaze slightly drifting towards the ground. "Hmm... I'll simply have to try looking for him there then." Her ears twitched as she looked back up. "Ah, well he and I are both members of the same hunting Clan. Unfortunately whatever it was that brought us here failed to bring along our Clan Leader, so the duty of keeping an eye on everyone falls upon me."
"Indeed. As the second-most long-standing member, tis my duty to act as leader, should our true leader be absent." Lapis replied, placing a hand lightly on her chest. "As for my robes, they are indeed a uniform, but they have nothing to do with my rank in the Clan. These are the robes of the White Magus, which I wear to denote myself as a mender of wounds and easer of pain." Her ears twitched once again as she added, "Oh but goodness me, I'm being rude. Tis a pleasure to meet you, Carmen."

Lapis didn't seem to regard Carmen's different-than-human features with any more interest or curiosity than she did with the rest of Carmen's person. "If I might ask you something, how is it that you did not know what I spoke of when I mentioned Bangaa. Are you not a Gria?"
