<color=blue>"I apologize if we've made both of you put-out." She and Gwen bowed. <color=blue>"But I am confused as well as to the manner of this place." She smiled in any case, to ease his tension. It was friendly and promising. <color=blue>"My name is EMily. And your eye tattoo has piqued my interest."

<color=purple>"I'm Gwen. Gwen Mason. EMily's my sister. One of them at least." She smiled as well.

They extended their hands to shake.

Carmen simply nodded in response to the Masons before looking toward the scene in the Arena, crossing her arms a bit. [color=bb0066] "Let's see..." [/color]

Laguna shook both sisters hands. "Nice to meet you. Or re-meet, if that's the case."

<color=blue>"Nice to meet you too, Laguna. I'm sure the mystery of our memories may come in time."

"EMily. And Gwen. Its good to meet you two. Whether its for the first time or not." James replied as they shook hands and grinned that disarming grin that he could only produce when he was in a good mood. When EMily remarked on the tattoo he glanced at it.

"Oh yeah, that. Ugly, ain't it? I had it done in Brazil. I'm not really sure why. It had something to do with a nightmare I had, just before a really bad op in the rainforest. I can't remember what exactly the dream was about, and I don't know why it meant so much to me- Lord knows I had enough nightmares at that time- but I ended up doing this for it." He shrugged dismissively.

"Who can figure out human imagination anyway, huh?"

Tahril would find that the gallery was covered in really thick glass, atopping entry. The Meta disappeared through the blastdoor moments after the agent.

<color=purple>"Brazil, huh? Your clothing looks from the last millennium. At least in my time frame. Are you perhaps from the 21st century?"

<color=blue>"The brain itself is a mystery altogether. Even non-human brains are fascinating."

"Ah, it'll be figured out eventually. And the brain? No point asking me about that. I can be a bit... absent minded sometimes."

Carmen looked over toward James after hearing about human dreams and the like. She listened to the conversation with a slight interest. [color=bb0066] Human imagination? Is it really so complex? [/color]

"2021, yeah." James affirmed Gwen's suggestion. "Yours looks... I don't know. Sort of like the kinky maid's outfits that supposedly showed up a lot in old... videos. No offence. At the same time though, whatever it's made of looks a bit more sophisticated than that." To EMily he shrugged and looked a bit more humble, his grin replaced by an expression of solemn neutrality.

"Biology was never my thing. I've never studied the human brain in any capacity. I can tell you all about the best ways to blow 'em out, but I'm guessing you aren't given to that kind of attitude yourself."

<color=blue>"Oh Laguna. Everyone's brain is very interesting. Psychologists in my time are having a hay day. And even before then, it is was known that it can create extraordinary results. With enough meditation one can actually stop the flow of blood in certain parts of the body."

She chuckled out loud.
<color=blue>"No offense taken. Well, you wouldn't be the first. It's a carry over from our old job. But you're right. The fabric isn't cotton. It's carbon steel fibers making it bullet resistant."

<color=purple>"And what kind of old videos would you be talking about?" She raised an eyebrow. <color=purple>"Pornos?"

Carmen giggled softly at Gwen's bluntness.

James nodded and squinted slightly at Gwen's dress and then at EMily's, appearing to view the material with new respect.

"Carbon steel fibres. Stabproof, eh? Oh, and bulletproof as well? Must've been an interesting job." He met Gwen's eyes and ran a hand over his shaved scalp in embarrassment.

"Er... yeah. Not that I was into that particular stuff myself, but it was a cliche, and was parodied and so on..." He held up his hands.
"And before you say anything, I am absolutely NOT drawing any comparisons between you and that stuff. It's just that they looked like the same kind of shape and... they... you know what? I'm gonna... just stop talking now."

In the arena, a large amount of guards were gathering. At the moment, around 30 were there, creating a defendable position in the middle of the arena.

<color=blue>"Our job is.... well..... I guess you could say it's 'universal.' And I use that word advisedly."

<color=blue>"Lord almighty Gwen. You still give people heart attacks," She paused, <color=blue>"But in any case. The wideness of the skirt acts as an electric charge capacitor. My hobby back in the day was practicing ballet, so it's a carry-over. But because of its wideness and its 'view', I've had to wear puffy bloomers. So I know where you're coming from."

<color=purple>"I guess I'm still a little stingy about it. But it's okay, bro. I totally understand." She shrugged.

EMily couldn't help laugh out loud at James' embarrassment. She took a deep breath before her next question.

<color=blue>"So what's happening at this place? Is there some tournament?"

OOC: @Random. I figured something was up. Good thing I had a load of grading to do.

James frowned at EMily's description of their job, but seemed to understand the explanation of the uniform's function more. He chuckled at the mention of the bloomers.

"Very considerate of you. Right Carmen?" He said, glancing pointedly at her. Then he looked back at the door of the locker room.

"So, why are we all still standing around in the locker room?" He asked. "Lets head to the lounge, or out into the arena. I'm easy either way. And yeah EMily, it's basically a tournament. We get to kill each other for the entertainment of some unidentified crowd of ghouls. Weirdly though, death is temporary here."
