Sorry if this should have gone in the News Room, but I thought that was for the gold-coloured names of the beat writers.

A war of sorts has "offically" broken out between Fox and the White House, more specifically: Beck and Obama.

Comments from any side of the political spectrum?

Being serious now: this isn't really news. This "war" has been going on for ages now.

I have to laugh at how they called Fox News a Republican propaganda machine though. Pot, meet kettle.

People are dieing because Obama refuses to be interviewed by FOX!? /joke

Anyway, this is just your average, everyday Liberal taking shots at Conservative and vice-versa. Just so happens that the people are in high places.

I am right in thinking that when George Bush was in office, and in the face of heavy criticism towards the Iraq War, Fox News said that "We should respect the office of the presidency?"

So, the White House's plan to promote their agenda is to show it to all the people who already agree with it? I don't think they should be getting involved with the media like this at all, really, on either side of the spectrum. They have enough on their plate as it is, why focus efforts on alienating the people that they need support from the most?

No matter what network they choose to go on, it's still subject to the same spin cycle, they shouldn't act like it's only Fox News that spins their stories.

That's because they are what's known in technical circles as "idiots". They wrap themselves in that title of 'Republican' and without question want to see anything with the label 'democrat' attached fail. Honestly, I say good for the Obama Administration, not pandering to the propoganda fires that are FOX news' one asset. That he will only appear on sensible networks that actually offer news is awesome. But I'm sure we all know that within minutes Rush Limbaugh will be jumping at the chance to foam at the bit, to come to the aid of his fellow bull-headed nonsensical brethren.

I'll go ahead and continue paying attention to actual News networks, you know, the ones that can actually do a pretty good job of giving both the good and the bad news--The New York Times, the Washington Post, Reuters, BBC, Al-Jazeera, networks like that.

Oh Jesus, here we go. I can see the words 'Hitler' and 'Fascist' being used sometime in the next few weeks quite a bit. I don't know how anyone with a functioning brain can watch Fox News, they blow facts way out of proportion and often disregard facts entirely just to scare up fear and hate toward anyone that isn't conservative.

Nice to see you are still around Cheeze. The part of your post about welfare and work-fare really did just twang on my nerves a bit, it sickens me that politicians on the "left" are doing this. Here in the UK there is a lot of talk of slashing benefits because of the deficit, we have a deficit because we have given a huge chunk of the treasury to banks to and mega corporations. So the top 1% of the richest people shafted us, and got richer. And the poorest of people who already have nothing are going to have to somehow pay for it. And this is with the "left wing" governments of the day in charge of respective countries.

What is amazing is that people will actually believe the propaganda mill that brands the unemployed and sick as "lazy good-for-nothings" and congratulate the government for making them suffer even more.

I say go Glenn Beck and Fox! It's past time Someone in the media stood up to "The Chosen One" and didn't bow down to his wishes. Cry me a river Obama! Every president has had "bad press" over something or other that they did or didn't do or said or something. Obama deserves to be criticized for what he is trying to do to the U.S. Maybe some other Escapists enjoy being socialists, but I don't want to be forced to become one. I want my country back!

Maybe if you weren't susceptible to the fear tactics that people like Glenn Beck and the like love to use, maybe you would understand that things aren't nearly as bad as you think they are.

I'm no fan of Obama, but Glenn Beck and his ilk are disgusting. They continually spout out lies and use common fear tactics rather than engage in actual discussion. If you disagree with Obama's policies, that's cool. Just don't be a dumbass and spout out lies that the pundits lead you to believe.

This is a stupid move.
Fox News is the Republican Party's mouthpiece/codpiece.They lie, they spin far more than other networks, and with the exception of Shephard and the occasional moment of clarity from O'Reilly and that pushover centrist Colmes, they're all far right nutjobs.
Everybody worth talking to knows this or does not know of their existence.
The White House should not be having a media war.I don't care if Fox is propaganda, as a left winger and a liberal you bet I support freedom of the press.

Whoever said "I want my country back". Quit crying. Democrats aren't even left wingers, they range from right wing to centrist. The public option is a centrist position and might not even get that. Quit pretending we're all gonna be socialists, if this is your idea of socialism, I bet you hate Medicare, Medicaid, the interstate highway system, and so on and so on.You get the idea.

Let's all cheer for facts supporting our blatantly unsupported bias! Hip hip hurry! Hip hip hurray! Hip hip...

Seriously, Socialist? Do you know what that even is? And then can you tell me what's wrong with it?

"Obama deserves to be criticized for what he is trying to do to the U.S." He's obviously trying to clean up the USA's national debt, provide welfare for it's citizens, boost the economy and so on, but I don't see what's wrong with that? Unless you honestly believe the garbage about him being a closet muslim etc. In which case I'm done here and I don't want to talk to people who can't think for themselves.

And when did you lose your country? Oh when the majority didn't side with you, eh? Lol...
