"heavily promoting meetings at which the president was characterised as a Nazi and a communist"

Did anyone else lol at this comment?
Seriously, I just want Glenn Beck to die. Right now, painfully and horribly. He is the worst kind of person. Deluded, powerful, and influential. I want to give him one punch to the face for every person who likes him - for every mind he's infected. I want Faux News to stop reporting with past-generation bias and get with the moral zeitgeist. I just... Ah, I just want it all to end and for people to listen to reson.

Wow, I was always knew that FOX News was full of twats and god knows what else, but are they seriously trying to do this? May I point out that when my school had mock elections, that anyone who voted Obama was "hazed" outside of school. We could do nothing about this, seeing as no adults from the school saw this happening. And when I confronted one of the hazers about what he did, he told me it because his parents watch FOX News and are always telling him that we are headed down the path of communism. This kid has all A's and is an honor student at my school, but yet he believes in close-minded thinking like this.

I think that maybe if people got their heads out of their asses and actually paid attention to what was really going on, FOX News would lose its steam and be forced to tell the truth, but until then, they will stay on the extremely conservative side of life. But one has to wonder, did anyone of these so called "republican right wings" ever just think about sucking it up and stop lying to everyone? Probably not, but it's something to think about.

I say we just burn down fox headquarters.
Right after we get rid of the PETA headquarters. They need to rot in the lowest pit of hell...damn them all.
Ugh. You guys couldn't even fight back?
I'm just saying when it comes to dealing with the far right, pacifism is not the way to go. If they start stuff, finish it for them.

EDIT:I don't mean kill them or hurt them severely, but if this happens outside of school you guys should band together and start hitting back when you can.

I mean, come on! No elaboration? Why even post stuff like that, you know? Why do so many people feel compelled to spit out the same mantras over and over, on both sides of the spectrum? And I don't mean this to flame anyone, I respect all you guys, I just see things like this as flaming, when you don't even encourage discussion by what you post. No questions asked or answered, you know?

I wonder how people would feel about this conflict if they heard the rumor that Glenn Beck raped and murdered a girl in 1990. I'm not even sure it's true, actually I think he's innocent! Still, it's a little weird that Glenn Beck hasn't denied these horrible allegations. If he doesn't have anything to hide, why doesn't he just prove he didn't?

TO be quite honest, none of us are here are as educated as we would like others to believe we are on political subjects.
This is why I avoid these conversations because they always boil down to people fighting stubbornly over points that they heard someone far more informed than they ever could be say on some talk show somewhere.

Essentially, politics is just like being a fanboy. Nobody ever changes their mind or truly tries to be open to new ideas, no one ever gives ground or concedes even in the face of sound logic. Republicans aren't bad or monsters or morons. Fox News isn't the mouthpiece of evil. Reuters, MSNBC, and AL Jazeera aren't beacons of hope, nor are they leftist progressive institutions hell-bent on forcing everyone under the banner of socialism and one world government. Glenn Beck makes good points, and Obama has good ideas. They both also say stupid things.

This is why I don't align myself with any specific group, whether it be for video game consoles, or Political parties... because the problem with GROUPS is that sooner or later you become beholden to the group.. you have to "go along to get along" with the group you've aligned yourself with, and eventually have to side with them no matter what reckless stupidity they endorse.

You know why Fox News and Obama Administration are at war?
Because our society is so jaded, bored, uninspired, self-indulgent, and starved for entertainment as well as attention, that us hapless morons allow ourselves to let these issues become important and distracting.
Meanwhile, the REAL decisions that will affect us in untold ways and that govern our LIVES are being made behind closed doors in secret meetings by people who don't care as much about whether they are "left" or "right" but just that they remain in POWER.

No, after a comment like THAT, YOU are the worst kind of person.
You wish pain and death on a man, the suffering of his family and friends who love him, simply because he says and believes things that are different from your beliefs?

Right now, somewhere, someone is about to take the life of another human being for the same reason.
Congratulations. You're a douche.

Why can't people just grow up and ignore the people they don't like? Thats what I do every single day.

I believe in karma. Glenn Beck is a douche. He openly mocks the (admittedly ineffective, but perfectly fine) administration because they say and believe things that are different from his beliefs. He makes up lies, and plays to popular oppinion. He creates mobs and ignores the perfect(ly moral) alternative means of protest. Glenn Beck is the kind of guy I hate on the highest level, not because I'm a liberal but because he plays unfairly.

I'm constantly in wonder as to why people are surprised that a right wing news station is not in support of a left wing president.

Has no one noticed that CNN fucked a sheep because SNL made a sketch that poked fun at Obama? God forbid you poke fun at a LEFT wing new station's left wing president.

This is not news really. It's not surprising.

Most people in the United States don't even know what socialism is. Fox News wants you to think that social democracy=communism. And a lot of people believe that bullshit. If Fox News really wanted to have smaller government like everyone on that station says, maybe we should get rid of Social Security, and the FDIC while we're at it. And is the social democracies in Europe so bad right now? I think that Glenn Beck is so bent out of shape is that hes an attention seeking troll, for one thing, and he doesn't want to pay more taxes. I think that socialized healthcare won't be as bad as people say, I remember a poll saying that 93% percent of people in Canada were happy or content with their healthcare.

I am right in thinking that when George Bush was in office, and in the face of heavy criticism towards the Iraq War, Fox News said that "We should respect the office of the presidency?"
You are indeed correct. You can change the man in the office but all that really changes in the end is who throws the rotten tomatoes.

Quote from the article: "Fox News often operates either as the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican party," she said. "They take their talking points, put them on the air; take their opposition research, put them on the air. And that's fine. But let's not pretend they're a news network the way CNN is ... We're going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent."

I'm suprised that they even said that about Fox News and it's about time. Usually the dems try to just ignore most of the things that come out of Fox News and someone finally said, "oh wait. You actually want us to have an intelligent discussion there? lol."

Obama is playing right into Fox's hands by doing this. He is not only giving Fox credibility for going fisticuffs with them, but also demeaning the dignity of the office of President. Then again, demeaning the dignity of the office of President has been a popular activity with him as of late. Just talk to David Letterman or the Olympic Committee.

To all leftists here: try to make the distinction between the acutal NEWS part of the show (that thends to run though the midday) and the primetime OPINION SHOWS that garner the network's incredible ratings. Following your line of reasoning, I could say that MSNBC and CNN anchors jack off to Obama posters before bed every night as they plot to turn the USA into a new USSR, but I would sound just as ignorant and uninformed as you are right now.

Indeed, the system is sound. Split my skull open in QC a few months back. I had to wait about three hours, but they fixed me right up.

I really only see fox news on the Colbert Report, a show which pokes fun at some of the things they say, so I wasn't sure if Glenn Beck was really that bad of a shit-disturber. With this, though, I feel as if Colbert isn't playing it up at all.

With Canada how it is, I'm mostly concerned about the stability of my own government. I feel as if Obama hasn't got anything done because of scare tactic by the republicans.

If that's the case, then the republicans responsible for these tactics should shut up and sit down.

After all, like I said when the coalition reared it's head:

"We/you voted the way we/you voted. We need to live with that decision."

It is true that the midday stuff is usually ok, sometimes biased but all major news networks are once in a while. The difference is that Fox isn't known for it's midday stuff, only the propoganda stuff. While a lot of the people there will take this opportunity to throw off the gloves someone as well researched as the president's organization can easily talk circles around them. Although the big problem is by actually standing up to the lies and insults it also hurts the office's image to fight like this.

So, the White House's plan to promote their agenda is to show it to all the people who already agree with it? I don't think they should be getting involved with the media like this at all, really, on either side of the spectrum. They have enough on their plate as it is, why focus efforts on alienating the people that they need support from the most?

No matter what network they choose to go on, it's still subject to the same spin cycle, they shouldn't act like it's only Fox News that spins their stories.

And is the social democracies in Europe so bad right now?
This is what I always want the angry right-wingers to answer. I heard Dennis Miller on the radio talking about why he opposes "socialism" and how (and I paraphrase): "...in France, they go to work at 10:00 and have six weeks vacation, and don't have to worry about their kid's college tuition or their parents' medical bills". And I wanted to jump through the radio and ask him how he could possibly think all that was a BAD thing.

Yeah, socialist Europe is SUCH a shithole, which is why they fill most of the top-10 in health care, life expectancy, quality of life, infant survival rate, quality of education, freedom of press, and happiness (I suppose they used polling data for that one), and America ranks around #20-30 for all of those.

I'm not surprised. Though I wonder how on Earth this is going to play into the 2012 elections.

Any moderate sane conservative has to be ashamed that Fox News is considered the voice of the Republican party. At least MSNBC has Maddow, who can somewhat counter-act the crazy that is Olbermann.
