Suggestions taken (although I've kept sleep as my prepared daily). Fair enough about diplomacy, I've got a lousy charisma. Thanks for your help.
No Problem, and sleep is awesome anyway. Just needed to make sure you knew you had access to two.

...That, and the mental image of finding a good defensive position, and then running a flaming fireball through ranks of the enemies was just too awesome to ignore. It's slightly underpowered, and much of the wizard is, but I may decide to fix pieces here and there.
Which means every now and again I may say "that Attack 'x' you know? increase its damage die by one size." Just so you're not surprised if it happens.

Unfortunately bluedemon left our group, but sorcerers actually work out to be powered in.... really weird ways. they're overpowered at the beginning and slightly underpowered at the end.

EDIT: just realized your reflex defense is actually 14.
EDIT 2: Looking at your equipment, I think you paid for your spell book. Aye?
You already had that. That should give you an extra 50gp to toss around. Which brings me to point b- it may seem slightly ridiculous, but you actually have to take out that extra gold piece for cloth armor (aka basic clothing).

hehe, yup, pyromania is awesome. Though bluedemon left there are a couple of people wanting to take his place. I'm sure they'll take his character.
Fixed the reflex by the way.

Fair enough, I'll add 49. I just assumed your first clothing was free like in 3.5. Or maybe that was a house rule we made after an embarassing 1st level :)

I forgot something about my character, he likes dragons.

The big winged ones.

Can you make his second language Draconic? I don't like Elves.

Certainly.

For EVERYONE:
The game is almost ready. I'm pretty much waiting on Sigel's character sheet, however if a few more days go by without a response I'll regretfully inform him his spot was taken because I couldn't get any sort of response from him.
It would be sad, but needed in my opinion. Everyone else has shown up.
Secondly, I need to figure out what to do about Bluedemon's spot. I've got a friend who'd likely want to play, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow. If he's not interested... well, we've had six more applicants so I'm sure one will want to play.

A few questions.

Is the shortsword better or equal to the dagger in stealth attacks?

Can my leather armor have a hood?

What is the status on Sigel and the open spot?

Okay. The rogues are required to use light blades for... flavor and realism reasons, essentially. One's not going to be very sneaky running around with a halberd. In essence, it's better. It does more die size more damage (a d6 over a d4) and has the same attack bonus (daggers are actually one less, but the rogues get a bonus to hit with daggers), and is just as sneaky.

Most certainly.

Sigel still hasn't responded. My friend is taking bluedemon's spot, and if Sigel doesn't respond by tonight I'm giving his position to someone else. I'm hoping to send everyone a Pm and start the game on Saturday.

Is Draconic a common language or just popular for us players?

I assume both, as you can't go to war with someone without knowing how to insult them properly.

And dragons are awesome.

It's only required from dragonborn. That just means the rest of you people think it sounds awesome. There tends to be that in D&D. everyone goes "that sounds cool!" and everyone jumps on it, turning it into a bandwagon.

Such is the case the the deity the Raven Queen, goddess of death. Now we learn that she's actually the manipulative ***** of death, in Wizard's of the Coast attempt to make her a tad less popular.

I only took it because it made sense with the setting. I did toy with the idea of making Marisa a Dragonborn (her name even bears the sound of one), but eh, I was too indecisive, so I stuck with human. In fact, this gave me an idea...

I think Sehanine is better.

And Erik will too, probably. But later. As in, not now.

I want my character to be more than just a sheet of statistics and some personality, I want him to go from adventuring loser with no place in the world to master rogue, who may or may not have a full dragon for a partner. The dragon thing is up to you, but it was in a dream I had last night.

Most roleplaying sessions I see, the characters will save the world and act like it was nothing, and they will complete massive questlines and come out richer and better equipped in skill and item, but not personality.

I'm not sure if I just saw more casual sessions, or if almost every character follows this, but mine will not.

That, is why I have a character taking his first steps into a larger world, with naught but a single coin and some supplies.

You may have created his sheet, but I have in my head what he shall be in his world.

My goal in this is not to complete the story and quests you lay down, although my goal requires me to do these things, my goal is to create a character that will change with the world as he undertakes adventure after adventure, a character to be remembered, and one to be interesting and fun to share a party with.

This may just be a game, but I will do everything I can to make an epic game that we shall all remember as a time of fun, adventure, and fantasy.

I have no idea what drove me to write this, but I feel better now.

Good. Do it.

I dunno if I can get you a dragon partner, but possibly a wyvern for a mount. Dragons in my world consider themselves equal to nobility, and as such aren't going to allow themselves to be ridden, nor would they just leave their holdings to go off adventuring. At least, not without great need.

It's actually quite possible to set this up, too. One of the things I liked that I did with Salasar, is after being locked up in a dark ziggurat with nothing but things trying to kill him, I gave him dragonborn perception for the feat he gained with the level right after those fights. He had spent so much time being afraid, locked in the dark, his natural ability to see better in low light areas kicked in.
It was simple, but effective.

OWNING YOUR CHARACTER: Things to consider giving or adding to your character to make them more alive, more real, more character than just a way for you to slay things.

- favorite color
- aspirations
- nervous habits
- do they snore?
- phobias, addictions?
- are they witty, shady, the social butterfly, a recluse on a specific mission?
- do they mind being dirty?
- how do they see the world: a classroom or a battlefield? a place to prove themselves? Or is all the world a stage for their exploits?
- Anything else interesting

Favorite color: Whitish-blue

Current aspirations: Become rich. Explore new places.

Nervous habits: Pacing back and forth.

Snoring: No.

Phobias: Graveyards make him uneasy. Doesn't like staying in one place for too long.

Addictions: None.

Social tendencies: Usually only talks when required, or when he finds something interesting.

Clean freak: Nope.

How he sees the world: A place to be explored and settled.

Anything else interesting: Prefers to rely on technology instead of magic when possible. He doesn't hate or dislike magic, he just prefers technology because he understands it better. He also likes exploring.

Here, I have done my best to flesh out Erik as a human being. How is it?

Good. this is entirely optional, and is more to give you ideas on how to make your character real to you. I think the idea I'm trying to promote is that this is role playing, not dice playing, and the dice are only a way to promote role playing in a more organized form. You'll see it as I write down what happens in an encounter. I may make a mock encounter tomorrow for people to see how it would work, but no promises there.
So if, as you go along, you think of a new detail to add to your character's personality, or say the entire group goes through something traumatic but your character reacts entirely differently than everyone else, you don't need to ask me if it's okay, just add it.
XD. I'm going to have to dedicate part of page 5 to keeping track of records and such. >.>

Other Non-Actions: Delay; Endurance checks; Insight to counter Bluff; Knowledge checks; Perception -- passive

Short rest: Healing surges as available

Five minutes: Normal escape from restraints (Acrobatics)

One hour: Forage; Streetwise check
Keep this guide in mind.

Each time your "turn" comes up, you get one each of the following: Standard action, move action, and minor action. Most attacks are standard actions, so most of the time your standard action is your focus. However, don't be afraid to ask about something if it you aren't sure.

Opportunity attacks are basic attacks players and monsters can make when given the chance. These include running past a character, and casting a ranged (not close) spell while there is someone right in front of you. You will be warned if your action is going to provoke an opportunity attack, and thus there could be a fair bit of "mulligan" going on.

When preparing to attack, there are some things to keep in mind. Collectively, these things are referred to as "combat advantage". The basic example is that characters who are on either side of a monster are flanking, and both have combat advantage. This means that they each have a +2 to hit the monster. Alternatively, there are things that can impede but not stop an attack, such as attacking through a window. This is generally referred to as cover, and results in a =2 to attack rolls.
The map below will demonstrate.
(damn... map program not cooperating. Seeing what I can do...)
