Inspired once more by the whispers urging towards war in the recesses of his mind, he stood up and his eyes opened as he frowned. The rain, cold and unpleasant, still poured forth from the sky.

"I hate bloody rain," he muttered under his breath and lifted the maul unto his shoulder, before stepping out from under his protective roof.

He wanted a drink. A good drink, too. That would cost a lot. Perhaps, it is time he sought some mercenary work. At least, it would give him something to do. With this thought in mind, he sauntered into the rain, looking for a job board or someone who would be willing to offer a mad dwarf a job. Heck, even chopping firewood wasn't below him. As long as it paid, of course.

Reggie walked up and down the streets, trying to find a pub that, to him, looked good enough to enter into. He had decided to not try to go into the tavern Rhogar had gone into simply because he wasn't in the mood for music. He ambled up and down the streets, invariably getting lost, for the better part of a half hour before giving up. He'd try looking for one the next day, when it wasn't raining upon him and decided to, instead, head for the cathedral instead at the town center, looking for a place to stay.

He entered the cathedral and muttered to himself, closing the door. As much as he hated the rain, the somber quiet of the cathedral was just as unnerving as ever. He had never developed a love for the quiet, probably because of his wandering mind. It always gave him the feeling that something was creeping up upon him from behind and he didn't know what it was.

He sighed. At least he be able to find a place to rest here and who knows, maybe he'd be able to help out around the cathedral to repay them. If not, then he would go and find a job around the town and repay the cathedral with most of the money.

Happy with his plan, he wondered what the others were doing and where they were staying before quickly putting it out of his mind, if they needed him then they would come and find him easily, after all, where else would you find a paladin than in a church like this. He looked around the cathedral, looking for someone in charge who he could question about a place to stay and a job. He easily spotted one in the form of a bishop farther ahead, along with someone he recognized talking to him...

"Where else would you find a paladin..." The words rang through his head again. He walked up a few pews and sat down, deciding to let his fellow paladin finish her talk with the bishop before he started his own.

Not the best post but it will do...If i messed up something then please tell me, Flare, so that i may amend it quickly. Higurashi's in here? I'm not completly sure if i'm suprised or not but either way, good to be in a Rp with you again, Higu.

Nope, you guys are all fine. I just wanted to denote the difference between saying you found some guy to ask for work, and saying you found some guy you asked for work and immediately deciding he agreed.
Make sense?
Rhogar was rewarded with a small piece of paper. It held directions to the barracks, and the name, "Ghurk the Half-Orc. Ask about tribal troubles."

The bishop smiled at Marisa. "I've been hoping someone might come. We don't have the numbers for this sort of activity. You see, one of groups of traveling nuns was waylaid on a path to the eastern mountains and the mining towns. The thieves were quite horrible; they stole the sisterhood's symbol of Pelor, a golden sun on a staff, and even tried to rape of the younger sisters. We need this scourge taken care of, and the symbol returned. I don't have much to offer you myself, but if the thieves are bold enough to attack traveling caravans of that size, they must have quite a number of thieves, and quite a horde to pay them."
Of course, Reggie would hear most of this too.

Wulfstain found a job board. It was mostly housework with need for cleaners, weavers, and a posting for any sort of adventurous, negotiation types.
Wait, adventurous negotiation?
The posting doesn't say much more, just to report to Lord Hasslebac.

Marisa trembled with anger. She balled the fist with which she supported herself on the floor and spoke through clenched teeth.

"I will assemble my team and deal with it post-haste, your holiness. They will wish for a quick end before it comes, and you will have the relic soon."

She arose and backed away respectfully before turning on her heel and marching toward the exit, passing Reginald with the slightest of nods. She leaned against the wall and waited to let him finish his business.

Deasil expertly retrieves a small brooch, something that immediately strikes him as a high ranking military insignia.
It seems his target was an off duty officer, and could have most likely pummeled him senseless if Deasil had been caught.

He squinted and read the notice.

"Rea-rep-report to Lard-Laird-Lord...Hasslebr...Hasselbac." He muttered out loud, trying to read it as best as he could, his finger tracing the strange human letters.

Finally, optimistic, he set off to find this lord "Hasselbac". And eventually he did. At that point, he had shoved through a comparatively large force of guards and citizens and staring at the lord, he demanded:

"So, do you have the job or not? I need money for a pint."

Rhogar quickly read the note, before tucking it into his pocket and flashing the man a smile, trying to not show off too many teeth as that usually appeared more intimidating than friendly. "Thank you for your help." With that he backed away from the counter, but not before leaving a couple pieces of silver on the counter for the help. Rhogar immediately headed out of the bar, following the directions written on the note. When he got to the location he hailed a nearby man, making sure he didn't look to busy, and walked up to him " Hello there, I'm looking for a half-orc named Ghurk. It's my understanding that he's having a little trouble."

Reggie looked at the bishop, a moment of intense thought going through his head, before getting up, nodding, and walking away from the bishop. He could ask for board and a job later. Right now though, he was interested in helping Marisa on this assignment, besides, she needed the group and he was a part of it.

He walked up to Marisa and said, "Well...after that little revelation i think it would be quite rude of me to ask him what i wanted to ask him. Best to wait until the task at hand is done...so, you going to go around asking our little group if they will join us?"

The soldier (for soldier he was, though completely covered in mud) pointed Rhogar to a large burly half orc in rain slicks who was yelling at a group of what could only be soldiers under his command. They were currently doing push ups in the rain and mud, while wearing heavy armor.
It would be predictable that they were going to have to clean that armor before leaving for the night.
When the half orc finally managed to set them all up and running around the ring, he turned towards Rhogar.
"You lookin' fer me? Must be about those tribals, yeah. Someone's been raiding our crops to the west o' town. Might even be some friends of yours, scaly. Thing is, they're not taking the crops. Oh no, the crops themselves are just fine. It's the people.
"So maybe you could go ask your tribal friends to lay off a bit, scaly. Or you could go an' fight 'em, but your types do always seem to stick together. Not like they'd be hard to find, seemin' as they've just been hitting every farm in the area. Most of da farmers are holed up in one compound at night now, fer protection."

Lord Hasselbac raised an eyebrow to the dwarf with no decorum.
"A better entrance could have been asked for. I'm looking for some people who can do jobs quietly, not people who have a total instinct of, "bash first, jump up and down on corpse later." Unless you have some slick friends, dwarf, I think you're overstepping yourself, and your budget."

Deasil's brow nearly jumped off his head, as he realized that this man could have easily sliced his thieving fingers off. he quickly heads into an alley, and stuffs the brooch into his pouch. "Not exactly something you can shift to a onto a fence, is it?" he muttered to himself. "course, the ladies always do enjoy shineies" he says with a sly grin as he looks about the street, searching for a Tavern in which he can rest his weary feet.

"I can do things quietly! If people don't stand in my way, that is. I do have some friends, you know. Some of them aren't even plate armoured. They're really sneaky. We can do this quietly, I'm sure."

He thought for a moment, rubbing the side of his chin.

"Uh, sorry about the guards. They just didn't like me being a dwarf and all." He said, grinning widely in a somewhat reassuring manner. Reassuring that this dwarf is mad, of course.

Marisa jostled Reginald in a friendly manner and grinned at him as they exited the cathedral.
"Yes I will, Reginald. Yes I will. I'll make sure they're as motivated as I am by the end of it. Those bandits will pay the highest price of the mortal plane."

Trudging back to the tavern, Marisa started looking for Rhogar. Gone. Typical. She strode up to the bartender.
"Hey. Do you know where my friend went? A Dragonborn bard, he was."

Hasselbac strokes his short and well trimmed beard for a moment.
"Okay dwarf. You bring me these friends of yours, then we can discuss what I need doing."

The Bartender hands Marisa a paper similar to the one he had previously handed Rhogar.
He is quite certainly not the talkative type.

"Barracks. Thanks." Marisa thanked the bartender and paced off toward the barracks. She was almost running now.
Arriving at the settlement, she spotted Rhogar talking to a half-orc. He did not look friendly. But Marisa being Marisa ran in and interrupted them.

"Rhogar! We have to gather everyone and leave right now. Highwaymen are robbing innocent merchants and sisters of the clergy East of here",
she took a deep breath, "raping them! Come on!"

Wulfstain left immediately after. Now, all he needed to do was find the rest of his team and convince them to go to this odd lord and get some work. He really needed that drink and he would get it, come hell or high water.

He set off searching for everyone and eventually, after running for a little while, he managed to find Marisa and her group.

It was probably an odd scene. A big dwarf in plate armour adorned with various symbols and with a large maul strapped to his back, rushing towards a group of rather peculiar adventurers. Not to mention the fact that he was nearly constantly stumbling in the mud and puddles.

"Hey!" He shouted, trying to get their attention and continuing his rush. Finally, he reached them and stopped, breathing hard and trying to stabilise himself, bent over and with his hands on his knees.

"All of this outside air and sky is not a place for a Dwarf..." he muttered under his breath and finally straightened up, looking at the only female of the group, almost expectantly.

Marisa patted Wulfstain on the back with a vicious grin that spoke of bloodlust.
"You're just in time, friend. We're about to round everyone up and go wallop on some brigands East of here. They've been robbing merchants and members of the clergy, and have even stolen a holy relic of Pelor. What's worse, they've tried to take advantage of the sisters. I'm going to take my sweet time punishing them, and I think you'd want to get in on that."

She leaned in closer and spoke softly by the Dwarf's ear. "There will be many of them."

As Deasil searched for a tavern, he came across Marisa and her lot. his face went pale. if there was one thing Deasil feared more than a jail cell, it was a devout, just, pew sitting, church going warrior. he ducked into a nearby alley, remembering all to well the time they spent together before he arrived in the city.

As Marisa told Rhogar of the highwaymen, he grimaced at the news and sighed before speaking. "I see, that is a most pressing matter indeed." As Wulfstain came into sight Rhogar hailed him before turning back to Marisa. "I'm sure that between you and the others a group of bandits whose main prey is merchants and clergy shouldn't prove too much trouble. Unfortunately I have a slightly personal, and urgent, matter that I need to take care." And with that cryptic statement Rhogar bid the two farewell as he started to head for the western exit of town.

Marisa tapped her chin. She was unsure if they could do it without Rhogar. As versatile as Paladins were, three of them made for a pretty one-dimensional team.
She then remembered the rogue that "travelled" (more like sneaking around in their vicinity) with them before, and the Dragonborn wizard. They could probably pull it off with their help. She shrugged as Rhogar left them.
"His loss."
Looking at Wulfstain with renewed motivation, she explained her plans.
"We need to find the other two, the rogue and the wizard, if we're going to stand a chance against this bandit group; they're many and well funded."
Finding a rogue that didn't want to be found was going to be a pain in the ass though, and Marisa had a feeling Deasil indeed did not want to be found. He was always avoiding them when they travelled together. The wizard should be by the tavern though, she thought.
Pacing off back to the pub, she started looking for Lemnosk.
