Basically you double your mod capacity(doesn't matter when you use it, you'll always have twice the level of mod spots) when you stick an Orokin Catalyst in a piece of gear(Reactors for frames). Add in formas and you get upwards of 200 mod spots for your high-end gear effectively.

Edit: Also, if you get any Aura mods, level it up and stick in a warframe(though obviously try to get something you think will be useful) and you get that many more mod slots for however much it says it "costs" to stick in. Also I think something similar happens with melee stance mods. I forget.

Also make sure that you fully grind out at least one planet other than Earth or Mercury. You do that, you can start getting nightmare missions and mods(and with the early planets open they become piss easy runs with the exception of Defense-type missions) which go for pretty good plat in trading if you farm enough of a certain one to get it to max. Unless you want them yourself(though with your setup you're going for I don't think there's alot of them that you actually want).

Edit2: Realized I didn't tell you how you get them. Watch the invasions mostly, you can get blueprints(though they're one of the things you get in the game that the blueprints are one use only so you have to go get another one). Also there's an event going on that you can get one easy if you like spy missions(and have up to like Jupiter and Saturn unlocked). Also the alerts sometimes drop them, and they're also dropped in like Tower2+ survival I think. They're rare, but oh so worth it.

Edit: Huh, well in looking up where to find the Bastet helm for my Valkyr, it looks like I received my answer. You build the base warframe, then build the cosmetic piece (helm, in this case) which you can then swap onto the frame in the arsenal. Is that a correct interpretation of how the cosmetics work? End Edit

Gotta say I do like that look more than the base appearance...I'll have to hunt down the pieces for it sometime, but right now I'm just trying to get myself situated with a couple warframes and a few weapons in each category to choose from, cosmetics can come later. :p
Correct, that is how Cosmetic items work, though, keep in mind, the skins don't drop in Alerts, or if they do, I've never seen it, it's just the Helms and a few Weapon skins that are in the Alert drop table. So your gonna have to pony up the plat for that, and every skin like that.

Correct, Stance mods add Mod points to your total like Aura mods do. So always make sure you got at least one for that weapon type.

Yeah, I'm trying out a whip right now because I had already found a whip stance, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it actually increased my capacity rather than drained it.

I've almost completed every level on Venus, is that a good one to farm nightmare missions on?

Ah, so if I want the full Bastet skin I'll have to buy it?

It can be. Honestly it sorta just depends on how much you want the mod. They pop up on every cleared planet with the mission that it says is there, just the enemies do a bit more damage and they can be difficult with the extra gimmicks for that instance. Defense type(Excavation, Mobile Defense, Defense, Interception) I don't think are worth it since you have to stay a set amount of time and costs too much effort that I don't think you should go for them. Sabotage, Exterminate, Spy(especially spy for the extra affinity you get for no alarms and how easy they are once you get used to the tilesets) and Assassinate(once you get good enough gear to just get rid of the bosses in a few hits) are all really good and you can run like a dozen an hour since you can just cheese it and run through to the objective and get out. But since they're random and all you might not get one you can go through for the mods all that often.

And no, you don't have ot buy the whole skin I don't think, you can get cosmetic drops every once in a while from alerts, Towers, and Derelicts. Also sometimes Spy missions(there's a big reason why I recommend them for grinding since you can get pretty much anything from them if you do them well).

Also don't worry about being broke, running pretty much any mission you'll come out with between 2 and 5 k, add in some of hte invasions net you 10=50k for doing three(where you'll get at least a quarter more total of the reward) and you'll realize you're never really broke in Warframe with credits.

Ty for the info. Now for a rather random question: are there any tricks/hints on "hunting" the stalker acolytes? Or do you just have to massage your lucky hamster every time you start a mission and just hope that one deigns to grace you with their presence? I've read a wiki on them and it sounds like it's a completely random - and very rare - occurence on any given mission.

Personally I've just been sitting around and letting everyone else rub their space hamsters and then going after it when they've been discovered on something I've got unlocked. Also since you're just starting out, you honestly probably can't really do them just yet, I've only been playing again the last month or so and I know I've got good gear but they're giving me trouble still. But who knows, you only have to get them to a certain percentage after all.

Though I have seen them popping up alot on Neptune, so maybe they've got a higher spawn rate there?

lol So I post my previous post then jump into another mission...about 5 seconds in Stalker himself shows up and promptly wrecks my face. :p

Yeah, I think you're right: I probably shouldn't worry too much about him and his acolytes right now.

Yeah...until you get a full suite of mods for your gear, you don't have a huge amount of ability to defend yourself against him. Especially if you're still running Mag. Not atht she's bad, just...outclassed by other Frames. Though you do have the best non-Prime power and Shields in the game, so there's that. Also Corpus exterminate's are a breeze so long as you get any power drops. Your 2 just oneshots most of their units.

Most alternate helmets don't have corresponding skins., That's generally only reserved for the 'deluxe' skins, and lately the player-made ones on the Steam marketplace.

For example, there are no Hemlock or Bastet body skins. Saryn and Valkyr do have 'immortal' skins, which are just different pattern layouts, and they also have 'deluxe' skins which are almost remimaginings of their concept.

I've just been mowing the Acolytes down with Valkyr, they can't dispel ability's like the Stalker can so I've been popping Hysteria the moment the spwan and clawing the shit out of them.

Probably best you avoid them for now though, as they can still be unpleasant if you aren't ready for them.

Been running around them with Mesa and Vauban personally. Never cared for Valkyr, she's just too...boring. Also Atlas is broken against them since they rely so much on running you over and jumping around like the little shits they are.

I've been enjoying Mag so far. Her pull actually deals a fair amount of damage, and yeah, her 2 utterly destroys Corpus. Her 4's very powerful as well.

Still, I'm really looking forward to getting my Valkyr.

And that's exactly why I'm looking forward to my Valkyr. Invincibility + Life Steal + Hilarious melee damage output? Yes please.

Yeah, I noticed that when I went into the market to look for a Bastet skin and found none, though I did see other alternate helmets so I figured it out. Gotta say I do like Valkyr's Gersemi skin.

She is pretty narrow in her focus far as what she's good for. But, since Blood Rush and Body Count don't work with Hysteria I'm reworking her build to depend more on War Cry then her Ult.

I thought that Hysteria was affected by the mods that you have equipped to your melee weapon?

Also: I've got Ember and Nova Prime being built at the moment. So I've got that going for me...which is nice. :3

Normally, it is, but for some reason those to don't work with her ult.

EDIT:Nice both are great fun, Ember and I go WAY back. like she was my first new frame back in CBT, and Nova is just a 'blast' to play, what with her being able to blow shit up real good and all.
