Imperial Guard > Tyrannid in numbers, the irony.
Clearly you've never seen Tervigon spam. My friend started with 5 Tervigons and 16 or so gaunts. Second turn he had about triple his starting models, and it kept going up and up and up and up...

(For any unelightened, Tervigon's spawn 3D6 Termigaunts per turn. Roll a double/triple, they still spawn them but they get constipation (meaning no more Termigaunts from that Tervigon for the rest of the game.) Still, it's entirely possible none of them will shut down, and unlikely they all will. Thank the gods for template weapons.)
clearly my friends were daft when they convince me to go IG than.

Also does it mean you have to make/paint all them the more there are or you just keep adding wounds to an existing models? XD (like to think you have to have more models to represent that heh, also makes more money for Games Workshop or ppl don't field them at all XD) In which case my 48 dudes will at least be bigger in # at on set :p

Was a long time ago. But I served the Emperor and the Imperium of Man.

Space marines, the Emperor's chosen. Forged in fire, clad in mighty armor, and we know no fear.

Yeah if I did field kroot they just got wiped out, I usually took out his gene stealers etc before they could close beautiful 30" range from 24 units usually dealt with them. And even then kroot wouldn't have been able to hold a candle to the Carnifex.

Let us destroy. Ravage. And never fall to the weapons of these "lifeforms". How dare they not embrace the life that we have been given. They describe it as a curse, a payment, and other things, but we are truly blessed. Immortality knows no bounds, and soon we will destroy the weak flesh that is the bodies of our enemies. The last echoing sound of torment they hear is their flesh melding, dissolving, and disintegrating by our canons of might. You shall scream, but the sound will be useless among the silence of our perfect bodies, standing vigil. And you will know who we are, what we are, and you will fear the gods left in metal skin. We are necrons. We are terror.

Heh, he must hate it when your space marine farts and all of his vehicles (which are held together with whipped cream) fall apart.

GO TEAM RETAR- Er... REBEL SPACE MARINES!
actually, catching the vehicles is often a problem, and their 5+ invunerable is pretty ridiculous. add in some icubi and witches, and the army is tough to beat :/

plus, my dad spams dark lances like theres no tommorow, which is annoying for a mechanised marine list. Still- heavy bolters are the way forward.

Well, i like it. Got the Dawn of War games (the first ones) got a decent ork army for tabletop (expanded it off the Black Reach set, so i gots some space marines too)

But my favourite race has to Necrons. Just look at those bloody skin dripping metal soldiers shamble their way across the battlefield to flay you of your flesh and wear it as a suit. =D

Ahh I wondered when you brutes would get here. Say...I know where you can find a good scrap if you're interested...there's this wonderful little planet called T'au where all the best warriors live...they also said that they were better than Orks and that you were all a bunch of pansies.

WAAAAUUUGGGH!!!
Good, good the plot is coming together. Those Tau like to hide and runaway a lot so I suggest that you use your sneakiest of tactics.

*cackle* The destruction of the Tau was a lot easier then I thought it would be.

Blood Angels custom (not really custom, just by name/colour scheme and special character names) called Phoenix Sabers.

Really into 40k. Love making up everything about a faction. have both SM and Blood Angels codex' Most people think they're broken.

Frankly, if using the wrong tactics, they don't even stand a chance against the guard. That's why I switched to Angels.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that is all.

Actually it isn't. I used to play regularly. Then i moved awaay from my family (my dad being my regular opponent), my game shop (where i played), and my friends (my other opponents). and i moved to a small bedroom community that sees comic books as satanism indoctrinators and stores that sell them and churchs to the unclean one. anyway thats why we're moving away soon (actually that isn't THE reason but its a reason). ANyone know any good game stores in Raleigh NC?

I would play it. However it's en expensive hobby and the closest place that I can think of that might have a place to play it would be Newcastle but I'm unsure about that. Maybe when I have a job and a nice amount of spare cash I'll try and get into it again.

I used to play when I was a kid. Tried to kind get back into it, but they seem to change the rules every 4 years and I am just not going to waste $100 on a game before I even get to play it and find out I'm bored with it again.

Hello there fellow Tau player! The greater Good will assimilate the entire galaxy with it's awesomeness!

Also, I would love to actually meet a decent Tyranid player soon...

Salamanders! (Not that there seem to be the old rules for them anymore.)

I just wish I could find some decent shoulder pads for them, and they've not seen battle for a good decade at this point, back when I had the time to play in Rouge Trader tournaments in Lubbock, TX.

I like the Tyranids, too, but I never did get an army of them together that I really enjoyed. Maybe I'll try them again sometime.

I play the tryanids on few occasions I play. It's always makes me happy when someone see's the mound of dice I'm rolling for my hormagaunt swarm and just gapes in horror. Also I like it when I realize that with two thirds of my forces dead before they could shoot back, I'm winning because my beasts are in assault range.

I played back when I still served, and was stationed in Japan. Apparently half of my platoon was into 40K, so I figured I might as well be, too. I ended up making two armies, one being the Tau, who I just loved for their pure firepower, and second being Dark Eldar....because no one else was, and I'd thought I could give em a go. They were actually pretty fun, and the fact that they were essentially the Eldar equivalent of Chaos Space Marines just made me love them a little more.
