Orc or Goblin Wolf Riders was always my unit of choice.

These pictures don't really do them any justice. I had so much more detail put into my army.

OOoooo... Ahriman under some of the Old rules.
Never needed a Psychic test, if you were lucky, you could wipe out an entire army on your first turn. Had every spell available to Chaos followers of Tzeentch and was generally OP.
Fluff (History) wise, Lucius the Eternal.
I mean, come on! If you kill him, you are slowly torn apart (Soul included) and you die, he is in your place.

SNOTLINGS!

snotlings are just so much fun, they're silly, useless as shit, kinda funny but all in all satisfying. The way they are used in Bloodbowl too is just so much fun, throwing them at other players!

from 40k though i'd have to say Tau Battlesuits

Night Goblins. They're hilarious. I spend half my time modelling something funny into the unit, such as the front row of archers have the odd arrow in their hats, presumably from a misfire in the back row.

Tau Broadside with arm mounted railguns. They're just badass!

Wraithlord but I hate the look of the new ones

I've only played the Warhammer 40k:Dawn of War series and Warhammer Online, so I'm not an expert on the topic, but I gotta say I love the Possessed Chaos Marines, the Obliterators and the Defilers(from 40k) are just awesome. I mean, come on, they took a soul and put it into a killing machine!

What I don't understand though, is why in Warhammer Online, all Chaos worship Tzeentch. imo, it should be that each class worships a different Chaos god, or they worship Chaos Undivided.

In terms of gameplay, I'll have to pick two.

Termagaunts who've got nothing but fleshborers and without number (every time you kill this unit it respawns next turn) to piss people off running next to.. oh I don't know, 6 carnifexes from a special rule that lets me take Carnifexes as elites choices in 1500 points or more games if they cost under 115 points rather than heavy support so I can have 6 instead of 3 and then I just fill all of my other choices with cannon fodder to make up the difference.

I don't actually HAVE 6 carnifexes but it looks win anyway.

The new "Iron Hand" Straken looks pretty nice as far as models go, as do the new Sentinels and Valyrie and even though in the new codex it's seen as virtually useless I have a special place in my heart for the humble Basilisk. I affectionately call mine "Big Bertha".

As for unit...The Hellhound...liquid fire doom! Just waiting for the Bane Wolf to come out, wounds on a 2+ against anything with a toughness value, useless against tanks but that's what Meltas/Lascannons are for. Eldar, Orks and Nids will drop like flies muahaha.

Yes...I play Guard.

"The image of an Emperor's Champion striding across the battlefield is a sight that makes all but the most foolish creature fall back in fear." Pretty sweet tbh.
Orks wouldn't fall back in fear. They'd charge it, laughing as their mates are cut down. Does that make them foolish? Or unable to feel fear?

You can't go wrong with a good old Warp lightning cannon.

Well you can... things can go horribly, horribly wrong. Still, having something which can shoot through terrain and pull of strength 10 shots at 48 inches is pretty neat, especially considering that it only costs 100 points. Sure, you might only roll a strength 2 hit or shoot your own units but when playing with skaven that's what the game is all about.

For 40k, even though I don't collect Blood Angels, I absolutely love this:

Some of the detail put into these models is breathtaking.

This is some serious dedication here, to put this much effort into the painting, they look bloody terrific.

Bwuh? Strength 10...48 inches...through terrain?

Wow.

Still, I have to admit, I know about things going wrong, because I recently started collecting Orcs and Goblins, and this has lead to Animosity. That has destroyed so many of my plans lately. In fact, I might just ditch Azhag and take a normal Black Orc Warboss and go on the rampage. I'm sure that's what a real Orcy player would do.

Though that's really just because they look cool.
OK, that's seriously good. I admit, I don't really follow the 40000 Orks, so I must have missed them, but they look awesome.

never got much of a 40K force happening, but I loved my Plague Marines,so gloriously pustulent ^_^
I was more into good old swords and sorcery.specifically necromancy.extra-specifically Vampire Counts (the edition Just before the current one was my prime)
favourite unit would hafta be

this guy right here.-note-this is not a picture of MY model(mine was not as well painted for a start), I nabbed the image from Teh Interwebz(tm)
by the numbers:
1,015 points worth of Vampire Lord Zacharias:The Everliving, complete with Zombie Dragon.it's worth noting, that for a while, buying this hefty model was the only way of getting a citadel zombie dragon
fills 1 Lord PLUS 3 Hero slots in your chart...but so worth it
all 6 Necromantic spells, plus a free Dark Hand of Death every magic phase.
1 free Dispel scroll per enemy magic phase
all 6 Necrarch bloodline powers
and a 4+ ward save.

granted, these will not mean much to anybody unfamiliar with the previous edition of either WHFB itself OR the army book in question, but I was quite proud of being the only person that I had ever met that owned and used this model.granted,it's not worth taking him in an army less than 3000 points, but the look on an opponents face when plonk a badass like this on the table is absolutely priceless.
