I sacrificed Tali cause I hated that stupid *****.

Lol. I've yet to meet someone who doesn't hate at least one companion. I feel special, I love every one of them.

I hated Miranda, also; I was a little disappointed she didn't die. I did like the alien scientist dude, tho, he was one of my favorite characters.

This game fairly balanced out the characters I loathed with the characters I loved, which is something I wish I could say for Dragon Age: Origins (in which my favorite character was the fucking dog cause he didn't ***** and whine and suck all the time).

I also played ME2 totally overwhelmingly evil (as I play every game that gives me the option), I dunno if that made a difference. I also had sex with Jack and Miranda, I think. And then rejected them both, if that was an option. JUST LIKE I WOULD IN REAL LIFE

On my first try I lost Jack and 2/3 of the crew was turned into sludge.

Everyone survived on my second run, though.

I completed Mass Effect 2 today and I've lost 4 members of my team. Tali, Legion, Thane and Jack. Three died on ship while Tali died during mid fight. What's your experience?

No offense but how do you lose people on the mission? Its pretty hard to lose people if you actually put any time into the game, just upgrade your ship and make logical choices and do the loyalty missions and no one will die. No offense, maybe you were in for a quick run but still I dont get how people lost anyone on the safest suicide mission ever.

That said I tailored a playthrough to lose jack and zaeed, dumb ***** and asshole

I went in trying to kill Miranda and Tali, but accidentally killed Jacob and Legion and Mordin instead.

First playthrough I lost Mordin to a shot to the head, second time Thane died in a gunfight...arg.

Third time, all my squad-mates lived but I lost half my ship. I just can't win with this!

On my first run, I almost cried when thane died.
He was devoured by seeker swarms and It was horrible.

Yet when Jack and Grunt died I couldn't have cared less.

Oh yeah, I lost Jack too. I actually lost her for a very specific reason. I sided with Miranda in that argument they have (since she's hot and all).
Sooooo she hated me..... Sooooo she got herself killed.... Whiiich makes no sense. XD

On my first playthrough I lost the crew of my ship, but made it through the suicide mission with only one casulty. I think I sent Jacob through the vents (because he's meant to be a computer expert) but you have to send Tali or Legion to avoid them getting killed.... I think. Second playthrough I saved my crew but lost Jacob again and Miranda got carried off by the swarm of little things towards the end of the mission. Re-loaded after loosing Miranda and I saved the crew, Jacob didn't die (though I did check a guide as to who you have to send through the vents) and I completed it without casulties.

In my be-all end-all runs, my Adept lost no one, while my Infiltrator lost Tali (which is quite baffling considering I was on good terms with everyone, even that psychotic one down in the lower decks).

Makes me sad. Tali was one of the few characters I - and my characters - actually cared about. :'[

Everyone survived but that's a testament to me doing every side mission etc. so I had 100% loyalty. Other than that just know your team and assign roles well. I am told that Mordin can die quite easily at some stage in there but I don't know where.

i didn't use a guide or anything
just made the most logical choices i could

eg. samara to provide the bio-shield or legion to be the one to access the computer to lock the doors down etc.
