Knew how to manage them even before I started the mission. I had Legion hack and Garrus be in command of the 2nd group, while Grunt took the survivors back to the ship. I thought I could get them all through but Jack died cause she wasn't loyal.

I know how to get her loyal though and I am gonna get them all out safe for the Arrival DLC. The best team to have for my part was Miranda (overload AND warp) and Kasumi (deadly shadow strike-400 damage biatch!).

Also, Locust SMG. That fucking gun can make short work out of EVERYTHING. By the time direct control was assumed, whoever was under it had only 25% health.

I saved everyone, though I did consult a guide on what to do with Mordin.

I sacrificed Tali cause I hated that stupid *****.
Lol. I've yet to meet someone who doesn't hate at least one companion. I feel special, I love every one of them.
I liked all of them, too. Although I do think Jacob was rather bland compared to the rest.

Also, anyone who hates Tali is a bad human being.
lol, seconded!

I went in having no idea that you could lose anyone at all. I beat it with everyone (including the ship crew that was abducted) surviving. I didn't find out until I went online to have discussions of the game without worry of spoilers that you can have everyone die.

I'm just glad I have such a perfectionist attitude. I do everything in a game, even if there's no foreseeable goal. I just can't stand to leave something not done, so I ended up upgrading the ship with no reason to.

I've only finished it once, and I've lost no-one. We will see how my Engineer play through turns out, though its not hard to save everyone.

I managed to save everyone. Honestly, it didn't seem like it was that difficult to do it. Next time I'm going to actively try to get every single person killed.

Well, I guess it makes sense that the last decision would have the highest stakes. Choose wrong and there's no mercy. It just sucks that it has to revolve around the survival of my two favorite characters. D:
I still mourn the loss of Tali.

But as I said in a previous post, I'll keep it like this. I like the idea of having to live with the consequences instead of redoing it to get the result I want.

I'm perfectionist too and did everything. This didn't prevent Tali from dying because there are some rules at the end which are hard to infer without reading guides or FAQs. I chose the especialists well, did everything right (as far as I could tell) and she still died.

But if you're careful you'll lose at most one team member, most probably Mordin or Tali, even without reading any guides. Or you may luck out and have everyone live.

Half of my crew died because i was dicking around and doing side quests after they got kidnapped, and the second time Thane died, he couldn't handle the door. ;/

Oh, yeah, that's true. I did kind of wing it on that one (I just chose who I thought would be best for the job), so I can see the degree of luck there.

Everyone survived for me.
I have heard of an awesome lone-shep for ME3 who has killed almost all his team, and everyone he has met. It's going to be him and Joker vs the universe. What an awesome project! :D

Everyone lived. The character choices are stupidly easy, so unless you forget to get all Normandy upgrades and/or skip the loyalty missions, you must be pretty bad to lose anyone...
In my game, Miranda was still pissed at me, so maybe I just got lucky, but since I knew about it, I didn't give her any responsibilities to make sure she didn't cock them up.

Everyone survived, because I checked all my decisions with a guide. Turns out that I was right at the beginning, but I wanted to be reassured.

Everyone survived but I used a guide because I didn't want anyone to die. I don't use the guide anymore since I now know what to do.

Even Jack who was Unloyal survived. o_o

My first run, Miranda got sniped and everyone else survived.

Then I reset, did her loyalty quest, and did it again with everyone alive.

Zaeed (don't care) and Mordin (nooooooooo!) died.

Miranda nearly died in that bit after you defeat the human Reaper and you slide down, but Shep saved her. Dunno if its possible for someone to die in that bit or not, but it was squeaky-bum-time for sure.

I don't get why everyone is so obsessed with having everyone survive though. I've had one playthrough and left it at that - having perfect playthroughs destroys the point of the games. I don't want to know the opposite outcome of every choice.
yes they can and it is possible to lose your whole team including joker on a single play through so for some people mass effect 3 is going to be a pretty lonely galaxy to explore.
