Gears of War 2
Gears 1 was probably my favourite game of all time but by Jesus just the thought of that game makes me want to be sick in my mouth >.>

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat. I don't hate them, and I know many who love them, but they just... don't grab me. The atmosphere feels too thin and generic to really immerse me. Maybe I'll give them another try later, but for now...

Edit: Hold on, I completely take that back. After posting this, I just spent the last two days giving it SoC another chance and... Wow. It's really great.

Crackdown 2. made me cry.
They took away the boss fights - those were the best part of the game!

Sigh. At least it was fun in co-op, and collecting orbs was still ace.

The Wii. My Nintendo DS. And my PS3 is starting to get there. I've yet to find a non-exclusive game that not only works better on Xbox but also has fewer mother fucking hackers than the PS3 version.

Fable 3 and Dragon Age 2

The money spent developing both was probably recouped on my purchase alone
ZING! Agreed on Dragon Age 2, at least. I've never seen a sloppier western RPG, and to this day it's the purchase that's made me the angriest and most regretful post-buy.

Fallout 3, the last game I bought for a full £40, a month or so after it was released. I suppose I've had my money's worth from it given all the time I've spent hating it and trying to get it to work without constantly crashing, but still...

I bought a Sega Saturn instead of a PS1. I remember looking at the two systems in the store and thinking to myself, "Sony probably has no idea what they're doing. Sega's been doing this for years already." Sound reasoning for a 12 year old kid, but I was so wrong. Ended up playing a handful of games (Panzer Dragoon, Virtua Fighter, Daytona, and a couple of others I don't remember the names of) on the Saturn and then selling it to buy a PS1 when FF7 came out. Then I did the same fucking thing when I bought a Dreamcast, but the PS2 wasn't out then, so I at least had a year or so to enjoy it. Oh, and by that time I was pretty much a PC gamer due to Ultima Online and Diablo 2.

TF2...now it's free.
...and?

New and more players means more moving targets. More moving targets means more kills. More kills means a higher rank on the scoreboard. A higher rank of the scoreboard means more epeen points.

Oh, and complaining that something is free is quite ridiculous.

Fallout 3. Any game that crashes every 5-10mins needed more time in development.

Because, I needed to pay for it, not fair. and than it wasn't free we didn't have any or just a few annoying idiots, now we have plenty of them, like XBLA! And the game was fucking perfect than it was fully original, but everything went straight to hell with the updates after spy and sniper update.

************, I bought this game literally two days before it went free-to-play. If you don't believe me, my Steam ID is my Escapist username. You can probably find out my purchase date or something from that. -I- got screwed over. At least I have a pointless Premium account, woo.

OT: Kinect. I sold mine back for a good price though. I'm looking at picking up another one now solely because Mass Effect 3 allows me to bark orders at my squadmates, which makes all of my holes ooze liquid nerdy glee.
Feels bad man, valve screwed us both...

The only game I ever have regret having purchased would be Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers. I'd love the heck out of the series on the DS and just assumed that game would be more or less the same. All I got was a crappy collection of mini-games...
