The Junction system is the single most exploitable character developement system in the entire franchise, it lets you become uber-over powered before you even leave Balamb and reduces the tactics of every single boss fight in the game to: "Attack with Squall". You shouldn't have a system back punishes the player for casting a spell.
that would be the problem of people who use magic, I however spam physical attacks and summoning. I prefer to use every possible advantage I can get my hands on to quickly complete the game.
Which is part of why the system is terrible. It took me all of 5 minutes to figure it out and the first dungeon to break it. It made your characters virtually identical. You just had 6 blank avatars for your GF's.

There are other reasons to hate the game, but that was always my biggest complaint.

3. Final Fantasy 7 (I hate Chocobo Breeding.)
I don't understand why people hate it. I found it easy; maybe I got lucky but I can't see the issue. It takes a little time yes but time =/= hard.

I've played:

I, II, III, IV, VII, X, X-2, XII (can't play my XI).

In order I prefer them:

IV, I, X, XII, VII, II, X-2, III.

Edit: III is so crap I didn't even finish. I can't be bothered to grind my characters between 40-50ish levels to beat the final boss. It shouldn't be possible to get to the final boss at levels 40 yet not be strong enough to kill it until 80+.

VIII is, was, and always will be my favorite(Unless XIII just absolutely blows me away)

And hasn't this been done like three times in the last week?

VII for the materia system, and Limit break workings

VIII is a close one, but I feel it's too easy to break the game early on. (Ridiculous stat jumps)

I also like II, but I have no freakin clue where to go XD

and IV for the famous "YOU SPOONY BARD!"

VIII followed by VI followed by IX followed by VII followed by XIII. I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan.

I was disappointed by XIII. It wasn't bad (5th favorite FF game), but it squandered so much potential. If it had used a slightly more streamlined Paradigm Battle System that you could actually take advantage of sometime before the goddamn 20 hour mark and a more complex Crystarium System with actual choice in how the characters evolved, my head just might have exploded from the awesomeness.

IX is my current favourite, then probably X because it is simple compared to all of the others and good for a quick play through (plus blitzball), then it is a tie between VII and VIII. I haven't bothered with anything beyond the horror that was X-2 though I did play the XI beta for a few minutes before deciding it was horrible.

I will probably have to go back and play more of the pre-VII games that I have but never really got in to. I played them for a bit but can't really distinguish between them because I played two or three of them at the same time and they look kind of similar given the graphics might of the earlier consoles.

Haha, I will be different and name a Final Fantasy game without a roman numeral on it.

Final Fantasy Tactics was my favorite. Besides the fantastic battle system, it has one of the best stories to be in a video game.

My biggest complait was always Squall, he is the worst lead character in any of the game's, and as you can imagine he's up against some pretty stift competition for that title. (Yes that even includes Yuna from FFX-2, she was awful but at least she smiled and didn't complain about everything)

Then you've never used Squall's Lionheart attack that fucks up any enemy because it does 9,999 about thirty times regardless of stats, or Zell's special where you input attack commands in order to get his meteor kick special. Or you didn't pay attention to the plot and pick you favorite characters because unlike FFXII they had personalities. FFVIII is far from the best game I've ever played, and yes it has problems, but it is way better than a lot of the crap games in the FF series that people love.
Everything you just said is why I hate the game. There's no difficulty because the GF system was too simplistic. And the characters are all unlikeable, but that's opinion.

I never thought I'd get tired of "..." until I played FFVIII.

X. I was young and it wasn't anything like I'd ever played before, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences I've had playing a game.

That, and out of the five others I've tried (IV, VII, VIII, X-2, XII, XIII) it's the only one I've actually beaten. I just lose interest.

Final Fantasy II and VI are my favorites, I don't think there was a single moment in either of them that I didn't enjoy.
