XIII.
One of the few ones I've played, the only one I've finished and, I feel, had the best story and characters. Ending still tugs at my heart... I'm so un-manly...
Second would probably be X, due to keeping my interest longer than the others.

My favorite is X. It has given me the most fun, and it immersed me the best.

X was the first one i played but it wasn't the best
It was the best to me. I have had the most fun with it. It may not technically be the best, but it is my favourite.

FFVIII, I don't fit in with most of the FF crowd because alot of people don't care for it. Most places I havve seen this thread its a 7fest. I think it's charactors are better thann 7's, it's story slightly more original, and gunblades are awesome. VII is my second favorite but not for the game itself. After that, they all fall pretty similarly close. But IX or X is probably up next.

Haha, I will be different and name a Final Fantasy game without a roman numeral on it.

Final Fantasy Tactics was my favorite. Besides the fantastic battle system, it has one of the best stories to be in a video game.
You mean tactics advance? I jest. Tactics was an amazing game, I got it imported from America just to play it, and I loved it! =D

Also, Final Fantasy IX, so brilliant I've played it through about 8 times, and re-downloaded it for the PS3. =D

I've given up on choosing between VIII and IX, they are both amazing games with different quality's.

Meh. Final Fantasy and all the other Jap games suck.
Really now? So basically you've insulted games ranging Metal gear solid to Mario. I'm sure you meant the JRPG genre, but even then there are JRPG's made in other countries.

I don't know about you all, but I really enjoyed VII, X, and XIII.

Vagrant Story...FFIX, you gotta love Vivi...and the fact that Zidane isn't an obvious emo.

Crystal Chronicles. The first one only, before they decided to take everything that was good about it and throw it away.

Tactics advanced is also a good one.

Final Fantasy VIII because it makes me feel smart to know how the junction system works while the rest of the FF fanboys piss and moan about how stupid it is just because they don't understand it.
I didn't really understand it much, probably because I never cared to, but my problem with VIII was that it was so damn boring... I tried for hours and hours to play it and get into it but it never happened... Plus the whole magic system was stupid.

OT: VII, X, and Crisis Core.

No he doesn't mean tactics advanced. Tactics advanced was a pathetic shadow of the glory that was the original tactics. That game made Final Fantasy Mystic quest look good.

I'm gonna have to say Final Fantasy 4 is the best. Somebody said it was simplistic, but then again... IT CAME OUT IN THE EARLY NINETIES!!! Next you are gonna say FF1 was too simplistic. well duh, it's an earlier generation. The simplicity is part of the charm. No BS mini-games. Story driven. Short summoning sequences.

Oh, and how can we forget that it's the only FF game with FIVE party members, a number they should have kept rather than dwindling to three and the nice return to four in FF9.

Eh, I've attempted to play most of them, but I ended up hating all but one, and that one was Final fantasy tactics. awesome game was awesome. I should probably just accept that the FF series isn't for me and move on, but I blame annoying friends for demanding that I play them.

I think it's funny that Squall didn't really take off as a 'hero' until Kingdom Hearts. And that's not even his game!

My favorite of all time is Final Fantasy Tactics. My second is Final Fantasy VI.

I'd say VIII, simply because it's the one of the few JRPGS I've played that got down to
business with a love story and didn't screw around with fanservice and vague hints at
romance that don't really lead anywhere but to fanmade rule 34.
