Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantsy 4 occupy my top spots.

The best thing about 4 was the fact that you never got to a point in the game where you had a main group of powerful characters and then three that you never used. This has been a problem in almost every Final Fantasy title since 4 was released.

I don't know about the second one, but I put down Paper Mario after the first world. I think it is a crap game that was too boring to satisfy the platformer Mario crowd and was too dumb to satisfy the RPG crowd, and the graphics are HORRID. If you think that game is even remotely decent, then you need your head examined.

6 and then 12.

For all of 12's flaws and wasted potential (and trust me after spending the past 6 hours discussing it's wasted potenital I think I'm a scholar on the subject) it still did the one thing that nothing besides 6 ever made me feel. That the world around me was a living being.

X was my first but in the end I was on a guided tour of some really nice places, but it was still a guided tour.

XII was like being dropped in a safari and told to go nuts. Very few times did the game TELL me I couldn't go somewhere, it let me get lost and make a fool out of myself.

If ONLY it had the tighter combat that Dragon Age improved upon. Yeah I said it and you better accept it. Dragon Age was only as good as it was because FFXII did Gambits first, it set the standards for Bioware to go "Okay now how to we make this better" and lo and behold Bioware did.



6 was the best executed in my opinion but XII was the one with the most potential, the fact that even NOT living up to it's potential it's still a great game says something extraordinary

My favorite Final Fantasy game is Final Fantasy Tactics on the PS 1 ( and it's PSP remake ). I really enjoyed the grid-based combat system, the 20 different jobs and their own skill sets. Also, while most of my friends dis-agree with me, I thought the story was rather entertaining. The music wasn't bad, but I can't think of any song readily from the soundtrack either.

Final Fantasy 6 would be a very....very close 2nd. Fun characters, great story, awesome music.

I-VII, and 9. Maybe Versus. Ok, so I haven't gotten to playing 1-3, but I like 4-7, and 9. But come on number 6, ************ Suplexed A TRAIN!!!

The closest any of the games has gotten to was Tifa's abililty to snap suplex a ghost and a dragon as a limit break. Now let's compare the other games, in badassitude:
FF 8: There was a mechanical spider, that Spoony fought while Wild Wild West in the background, but no badass characters, Squall was just too much of a loner. Ignoring the hot, slightly older teacher who's totally wet for him., and going for the girl who took him as a replacement, kind of makes him the anti-hero, of the loser type. Plus the plot pulled too much shit out of it's ass. Kinda like Uwe Boll.

FF 9 get's an exemption, due to the fact that it was steampunk, rather than the cyberpunk-type game that 7 was. You can't really compare Ghost In The Shell to Steamboy. And the combat was fun. No Juctioning required.
FF 10: On one hand:

Spoiler: Motorboat!

Spoiler: Objectionable? Normal fanservice? Should she deepthroat a banana?

On the other hand:

Spoiler: Wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?

But at least the combat was good.

Final Fantasy 5. I absolutely hate 7. There's just something about having hundreds of fans that can't defend why it's OMG THE BESTEST FF GAME EVAR! that pisses me off. Oh, and I love Final Fantasy 10.

Final Fantasy 6, however, is a close contender. 7 clocks in at third place, a little way behind that. Don't especially care for the rest of the series.
