I've never been able to finish a Final Fantasy game, but I'm 7 hours into Final Fantasy VII. I think I might actually play all the way through that one, which will probably open up the floodgates for playing all the rest. At this point I'll say VII, but only because it's the only one I've played for any reasonable amount of time.

I'm glad people remember Tactics. It got largely overlooked because it wasn't a standard FF game, but the story was amazing and the gameplay was entertaining. Seriously, its probably the only game I've bought more than once. The PSP port added CG movies that actually improved it (although the extra character classes weren't all that much to write home about.)
I've played all the FF games (except Crystal Chronicles, they never really interested me.) Tactics gets my best vote (as long as it stays away from the gameboy, that thing darn near killed the series), followed by 6, 7, 9 and 1. 10 through 12 were terrible to me. 13 was good, but way to damn linear.

XIII hasn't happened, it's just an elaborate prank and square-enix will personally deliver the actual version of the game to all our houses. Hopefully.

I've played VII, IX, X, XII, Tactics, and The Crystal Bearers. I want to play VIII, though. As of yet, my favorites are IX, X, and VII, in that order.
I get it, I just hate it, it annoys me how I can't cast any magic I have junctioned to a stat without getting weaker.blakfayt said:

I've only played three games of the series (would have started sooner, but I thought you had to play them in order ^_^; ) which are III(DS), X, and XII.
I like III, (although it's making me do a lot of grinding for a boss and it won't let me go outside the kingdom XO) especially with the class changes on a whim. Haven't played too much of this, but its my second favorite. (Loooooove the geomancer class)
X pisses me off, and I don't know why. I was playing the game, somehow I was able to get myself to really like Titus even though he looks. . . I'm not sure words can describe how much I hate his apparel, and right around the time I got to the lightning temple, I had this surge of hatred towards it.
XII is really fun just because I love roaming the world and grinding. I love this battle system and most of the characters. Plus they have the source of everything sexy in the world known as Balthier, which definitely boosts this game to my favorite FF slot.
