I'm amazed at just how weak willed I am. I keep thinking to myself, "Don't get hyped for any games other than Kingdom Hearts 3 and Horizon Zero Dawn". And then Ubisoft drops a Watch Dogs trailer and I get all weak in the knee.

I am so excited for this game! The first game was a little disappointing, but it was still fun. Sure, the story was boring, Aiden was an emotionless prick, and the missions were a little too samey, but the game was still fun to play through. I had a blast! Especially since I typically went through the game using stealth, which I am in love with.

So, yeah, Ubisoft dropped a World Premier video.
This video is pretty typical, I think. The devs say "We listened to feedback. The game is better. We tried really hard to improve!" Don't know whether they're telling us the truth or not, but these types of videos get to me. The excitement in their voices while they talk about their game and the improvements they've made, it's infectious and it gets me excited as well.

There's also a video about the new locations, hacks, and characters.

Good-bye Aiden Pierce! You will not be missed!

So, what did you think of the first Watch Dogs game?

What are your thoughts on the trailer?

Are you interested in Watch Dogs 2 at all?

Or are you sick of Ubisoft in general and avoid their games like the plague?

I don't care about anything Ubisoft does anymore. I don't bother with their games even when they're $5 on Steam. I see them as a company that makes these shitty games devoid of any real value with an even shittier business model designed to make you feel like you're not even getting half of their shitty experience for $60. And then there's Uplay. The less said about that the better. So they can kindly go fuck themselves.

It's amazing how terrible they are and how blatantly they keep lying over and over again. What's more amazing however is that people keep buying into their empty words completely oblivious of the fact that they're most likely lying AGAIN to get you to pre-order. It wouldn't be their first or second or third time to do it. Because it works and they know it works. They know that gamers are too forgiving, have shitty memory and will pre-order any piece of shit in an instant if they lie to them about how fuckin' sorry they are. Every.Single.Time. It's exhausting.

Well the bad news is that yes, you are weak willed.

WORSE news is that you're far from only one. Pretty much most gamers are exactly like that. Don't believe me? Wait for E3 and see all those gamers losing their freakin' mind over games that won't deliver 10% of their promise because the footage has been carefully design to hype people up. It's the same story every year.

That's just how people are. Gamers are people (or so I've heard) and therefore no different than most other people on the planet. Impulsive consumers that are too weak to say no to a new shiny new thing sold by a psychopath pretending to care about you.

But it's somehow worse in case of video games. Worse than those people waiting for days in a line to buy a new shitty Apple product. Because unlike physical goods, you can never actually run out of video games. Even if you can't get a physical version imediately you can download a digital one. Yet gamers still pre-order from companies that burned them in the past more than once. And then they wonder why games are not as good as they once were.

BREAK THE CYCLE CAPTAIN. RISE ABOVE THE HYPE.

Ubisoft is stuck in cycle. They keep regugitating the same open-worlds over and over and over again, that feel designed around busy work. A lot of open-world are like that, but Ubisoft has turned it into an automated, sausage packaging machine. Whenever I hear an announcment for one of their new open-world games I just feel a crushing sense of exhaustion washing over me.

As soon as they make a new Rayman or an action game that isn't open-world I'll try to sum some energy to to take a gander.

Oh, I'm not going to pre-order. Definitely not. I'm weak, not a fool. There's only one game I'm going to pre-order, and thats Kingdom Hearts 3. A game I'm so hyped for that it's almost garunteed not to meet my expectations. I'm my own worst enemy.

I was pretty hyped for Syndicate too, but I wouldn't have played it at all if my sister didn't buy it for me as a gift. I was more than willing to wait for Ubisoft to announce the next AC game to decide whether I wanted to buy Syndicate or not. If the Watch Dogs 2 reviews aren't looking good, I'll just wait and buy it used.

WD was very good game. The only bad thing about it was the main character. Looks like they've managed to make even worse one. He would be the first one in the game that i would put a bullet into.

Couldn't they make nerdy char that cracks a lot of jokes and looks like Jet Li?

We don't know much about Marcus yet, right? Aside from the fact that he's been "Framed for a crime he didn't commit."
I know, but this is my first impression. I don't like how he looks, dress, or moves.

Frankly, fuck the trailer. Ubisoft has never, ever, ever, ever, been honest in a trailer. Wait until the game comes out and see how buggy and downgraded the graphics end up being before making a judgement. Watch Dogs 1 was mediocre at best, though I didn't mind the graphical downgrade.

Don't trust the system, it is only there to deceive you. Wait until we know and we see more before making any kind of hype train judgement upon this Ubisoft propaganda.

You have been warned people. Learn from your mistakes.

Kind of looks like Mr. Robot as directed by Michael Bay.

I wonder what kind of tower we'll be climbing to unlock the map in this one.

I really enjoyed the first game. Sure it wasn't perfect but for what was basically a first attempt at a 'GTA clone' it was pretty good. Driving needed improvement and the final mission was really tedious but the setting was cool and for what played like an open world Splinter Cell Blacklist the missions(for the most part) were really fun as well. Pretty sure I will pick up the sequel when its released.

That's the funniest part, I've heard that tower climbing is gone for good. I think it was on the Playstation Blog with a "5 Reasons Why Watch_Dogs 2 Won't Make You Want To Lynch Our Dev Team" or something like that. They really pushed the point that all of the map will be available from the start, which only makes me worry about how restricted other areas of the game will be.

I also think I saw "Hacker Vision" in the first gameplay vid. Oh no.

Might as well break the festering defensive mould growing on your thread here and say that it has my interest. The first had potential and Ubi have shown evidence of self-awareness in recent times. The tug of war between creative ambition and corporate stagnation is most strained within this publisher/developer than any other. It helps not gaming on a PC too, as uplay is just a background noise you can ignore.
Edit: Ok i write too slow, sorry, no keyboard for me here. No mould left to break. *sobs in dark corner*

Watch Dogs was the last Ubisoft game I bought, and after that I vowed not to give them my money ever again. With their dishonest trailers, downgrades, shifty DLC and microtransactions practices, they are a blight on the industry, and this trailer reeks of the usual Ubisoft bullshit.

The first was a decent game on its' own merits with an internet backlash that was mainly down to Ubisoft's own hype machine.

I'm cautiously interested in the sequel, particularly the new protagonist as ICONIC Aiden and his ICONIC cap was probably the worst part of the first game.

-Watch Dogs played exactly like the walkthroughs showed even using exact missions from the final game. If you didn't know what the game was going to play like, that was your fault.
-Open world games are a work in progress especially graphically. The developer always shoots to make the best looking game and of course during development the game will look better as not the entire world or gameplay mechanics are fully integrated into the game. Thus less to render means everything looks better. On PC the "reveal" graphics were unlocked and it was obvious the developer couldn't get the graphics working quite right so the graphics were lowered. And what about those trailers after the delay showing exactly how the game was going to look? It's sorta your fault for not paying attention.
